The onion soup was rich, flavorful, & perfectly prepared, while the wine paired beautifully with the meal. The atmosphere, service, & overall dining experience were all top-notch. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable evening. We will definitely be back!
We had a great group dinner at this calm & beautiful restaurant; appreciated the kind & attentive wait staff, excellent wine by the glass, & variety of delicious dishes.
Still delicious after all these years. If you feel like southern France & northern Spain food … you can't go wrong here. Nice & diverse wine list, & located in the heart of old Montreal.
Very telling when there is little or no staff rotation too. Not surprising when you get to meet the owner.
Never had a bad experience in 20+ years. Thank you !
Delicious spot of French & Spanish fusion- we absolutely loved this restaurant. We had a variety of options from menu including the seafood chorizo Paella, duck salad, octopus, & stew. Waiter was extremely knowledgeable & friendly, & helped us choose a wonderful wine to accompany our dinner. Will come again!
Amazing! Starting with the Navarra Otazu cuvée premium red wine then a fabulous vegetable lasagna & grilled sesame encrusted tuna, & a chocolate fondant cake with creme chiboust with a hint of maple syrup. Jeremy made us feel like we were in his home.
Absolutely delicious food & exceptional service. The server had excellent recommendations for wine. Very highly recommended.
Tasty appetisers & good wine. The place seemed understaffed & they were disorganised. This is the crème brulé I received after waiting for 40 minutes. Seems a bit bland. Joking aside, the food is ok but the service needs improvement. Not good value for money. My plate had many fingerprints on it. The place was too noisy.
Amazing staff! Wonderful food! Great wine list...excellent place to celebrate a birthday. Manager was genuine & very helpful.
Food was delicious as was the wine. We sat outside which was comfortable with relaxed vibe. Our server was fabulous.
### Restaurant Review: Restaurant Les Pyrénées, Old Montreal Celebrating our four-month journey living in Montreal, my wife & I were delighted to discover Restaurant Les Pyrénées, thanks to our family friends who have resided in Old Montreal for several years. This hidden gem offered a memorable dining experience, reflecting both the rich culinary heritage of the region & the vibrant atmosphere of Old Montreal. **Ambiance & Service:** Nestled in the heart of Old Montreal, Restaurant Les Pyrénées exudes a warm & inviting ambiance. The rustic decor, combined with a cozy, intimate setting, creates the perfect backdrop for a special celebration. The staff were attentive & knowledgeable, guiding us through the menu with ease & ensuring our dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. **Appetizer & Wine:** We started our meal with a classic appetizer of dip & bread, perfectly paired with a bottle of Bodegas Aroa Le Naturel Navarra wine. The dip was creamy & flavorful, & the bread was fresh & warm, setting a high standard for the dishes to follow. The wine, with its rich & robust flavors, complemented the appetizer beautifully. **Main Courses:** For our main course, we indulged in two exquisite dishes: 1. **Twelve Hours Braised Lamb:** The lamb, slow-cooked to perfection, was incredibly tender & flavorful. Accompanied by spinach with roasted almonds & a delicate thyme sauce, each bite was a harmonious blend of textures & tastes. The roasted almonds added a delightful crunch, & the thyme sauce elevated the dish to new heights. 2. **Rotinis with Chicken & Chorizo:** This dish was a vibrant medley of flavors & colors. The rotinis were cooked al dente, & the combination of chicken, chorizo, crunchy vegetables, olives, & sun-dried tomatoes created a symphony of tastes that was both hearty & satisfying. The chorizo added a spicy kick, while the sun-dried tomatoes provided a tangy sweetness that balanced the dish perfectly. **Dessert:** To conclude our meal, we opted for the Crème Caramel. This classic dessert was the ideal ending to our dining experience, with its smooth, creamy texture & rich caramel flavor. It paired wonderfully with the remaining sips of our wine, creating a delightful finish to our evening. **Conclusion:** Restaurant Les Pyrénées offered us an unforgettable dining experience, celebrating both our time in Montreal & the rich culinary traditions of the region. The combination of exceptional food, attentive service, & a charming ambiance makes this restaurant a must-visit for anyone in Old Montreal. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply looking for a delightful meal, Restaurant Les Pyrénées is sure to impress.
