Born from the love of a passionate French artisan, Boulangerie l'Amour du Pain has discovered the secret to winning hearts and satisfying hungry appetites with its wide selection of bakery, viennoiserie, and pastry products. Each of our branches also offers a ready-to-eat counter. Sandwiches, salads, soups, we have everything you need!
L'Amour du Pain is praised for its pastries, especially croissants, with the almond croissant and the chocolate almond croissant described as among the best, and the texture and generous fillings highlighted across reviews. The raspberry galette and other pastries, along with the bread, draw frequent compliments, while the coffee and hot chocolate are noted as good to excellent, though a few reviews call the coffee not the strongest. The shop is repeatedly described as a cozy, pleasant place with a delicate atmosphere, located in Old Montreal inside a traditional building that also houses a home decor store. The service is consistently friendly and attentive, contributing to a warm and welcoming experience. A few reviews mention seating could be better or that a pastry or filling was a bit too much, but these do not overshadow the overall impression of high quality pastries and breads and a charming, enjoyable visit.

I've been to well over 20 countries & this honestly is one of the best croissants that I have had. The texture & flavor were perfect. I'd highly recommend to visit if you love coffee & pastries. I'm definitely going back before I leave Montreal.
Went there to try the pistache croissant as I have been craving a good one for a while. The dough is a good blend between soft yet crunchy, & what I liked is that it does not bloat at all. While the filling was generous to the point where it drools to the outside with each bite, downside was that the pistache flavour did not hit a spot, it felt more like regular cream with pistache coloring/emulsifier, i wasn't able really taste it as i should.
Mary was so incredibly nice & welcoming. We ordered matchas with almond milk, croissants & baguettes. As my kids said to say, make sure you give them 5 stars! Thank you so much
We had the almond croissant & chocolate almond croissants…& wow. I think these are the best croissants I've had in a long time, & I'm particular about my almond croissants. I was there within an hour of opening & there was only one chocolate almond croissant left, & I could see why. So moist & delicious & perfect amount of filling for my taste.
I don't get the croissant hype, a perfectly ordinary & kind of soggy chocolatine. I've had better in many places. Coffee isn't strong.. overall disappointing. Go to kouign aman on mont Royal if you want the real deal

Excellent croissants, especially au chocolat, & delicious bread. The bakery/cafe shares space with a lovely home store that makes it feel like sipping coffee in an art gallery or private interior garden. Excellent service.
It was really good but lowkey there was too much filling in that almond croissant. never had that happen to me before. Chai latte was well balanced & delicious!
Wow! It felt like I was in a French bakery in France. 🇫🇷 The food was incredible, with croissants that were simply divine & sourdough bread that was irresistible. The service was excellent, & the prices were quite reasonable.
L'amour du pain is an interesting bakery inside a furniture store selling cottage home decor. It opens at 8am on Saturday & there was already a long lineup. There was only one lady server behind the counter & she was fast, efficient & very pleasant to deal. We ordered a stuffed bacon & cheese baguette for eat-in & a chai latte. Superwoman was kind enough to ask us if it needs to be heated up in the oven which we gladly appreciated. There are lots of very appetizing looking croissants that I will have to try next time. There is one common table to seat 10 which was convenient. The baguette was soft, warm & delicious. The tea was heavily loaded with cinnamon with lots of foam on top. I like the sign inside, at the entrance that no dogs are allowed at the bakery. Guess what? There was one customer eating at the common table with a dog at her feet. I have a dog but I will never bring my dog to a food establishment with or without a sign to keep pets out of respect for hygiene, customer safety & regulatory compliance. While the restaurant deserves a 5 star, I have to deduct a star for not enforcing rules that are being infringed.
