Review Summary

Overall, L'Amour du Pain draws praise for its exquisite pastries and breads, with standout croissants including an almond croissant and a chocolate almond croissant noted as among the best, and many reviewers highlight the texture, the balance of fillings, and daily freshness. The pastries and breads are described as stunning and delicious, and the shop pairs a cozy cafe vibe with a small counter for coffee and snacks. The setting inside a traditional old building that also houses a home decor and plants store adds a gallery like atmosphere that many find appealing. Service is consistently described as friendly and helpful, with warm smiles from staff, although a few comments mention limited seating and occasionally ordinary coffee. Taken together, the experience is a delightful treat with high quality baked goods and an inviting, welcoming feel.

I used to love L'amour du pain it was my favorite bakery. But lately it's just been bad experience after another. Very dry bread, nothing is fresh. Even the pastry I recently tried were hard.

They really need to get the quality back up for the price that they charge.

Such a beautiful location for a bakery. Situated inside a traditional old building which happens to be a very well known furniture & decor store.
They serve exquisite hot chocolates(Which are hard to find) the staff is very kind & helpful. All of this tucked in a quaint place to sit down for a quick snack, sandwich or pastry which are freshly made each day in Montréal with local & organic ingredients. A must see whether you're a local or tourist.

Excellent croissants, especially au chocolat, & delicious bread. The bakery/cafe shares space with a lovely home store that makes it feel like sipping coffee in an art gallery or private interior garden. Excellent service.

Wow! It felt like I was in a French bakery in France. 🇫🇷 The food was incredible, with croissants that were simply divine & sourdough bread that was irresistible. The service was excellent, & the prices were quite reasonable.

L'amour du pain is an interesting bakery inside a furniture store selling cottage home decor. It opens at 8am on Saturday & there was already a long lineup. There was only one lady server behind the counter & she was fast, efficient & very pleasant to deal. We ordered a stuffed bacon & cheese baguette for eat-in & a chai latte. Superwoman was kind enough to ask us if it needs to be heated up in the oven which we gladly appreciated. There are lots of very appetizing looking croissants that I will have to try next time. There is one common table to seat 10 which was convenient. The baguette was soft, warm & delicious. The tea was heavily loaded with cinnamon with lots of foam on top. I like the sign inside, at the entrance that no dogs are allowed at the bakery. Guess what? There was one customer eating at the common table with a dog at her feet. I have a dog but I will never bring my dog to a food establishment with or without a sign to keep pets out of respect for hygiene, customer safety & regulatory compliance. While the restaurant deserves a 5 star, I have to deduct a star for not enforcing rules that are being infringed.

We were looking for a traditional French style bakery. This place was pretty close. Great pastries, homemade chai lattes & great Lattes. Great service from Tomas & nice atmosphere. Tres Magnifique!

Beautiful store attached to this bakery. Incredibly friendly barista. Tasty baked goods but the chocolate croissant had a small amount of chocolate.
