My husband & I had an amazing time at Kyo Bar Japonais, we've already been twice! The food was incredibly fresh, beautifully plated & packed with authentic flavors. Every dish was expertly prepared & absolutely delicious. It's definitely a must-visit spot whenever we're in Montreal!
Have been going to KYO for years...today's lunch hit an all time low..my companions tuna poke was flavourless & was left half eaten...my beef bento box was not fresh..the tempura shrimp & veg soggy...very sad to see this ...it was once one of the best..

One of the freshest sushi I've eaten in a while. This place is really a must try at least once in my opinion I really liked it plus the service was relatively fast & for the amount we get the sushi was affordable compared to most places now a days.
I like this izakaya very much. The ingredients are very fresh & prepared with care. I especially recommend the tataki maguro, which has a rich texture & unique taste. The sashimi & sushi rolls are also very good. The waiter was very busy during the weekend dinner, but this did not affect the high quality of service. The food portions were not very generous, & we had to order a second round. Overall, it is a 5-star experience.
The atmosphere perfectly complements the menu, creating a delightful dining experience. The food is not only delicious but also made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. There's something to suit every taste. A must-visit spot!

The food & the services was both great & had a great time ❤️ here's what we ordered . Wakame Huitres fraiches Takoyaki Salmon spring roll Taiheiyo Rainbow Hot hakutsuru, junmai 300ml There was not one thing that wasn't worth. The ambiance was cozy & inviting, with attentive staff who made us feel right at home. The food was absolutely delicious - every dish was bursting with fresh flavors, & the presentation was spot on. Their [specific dish] is a must-try!

Amazing culinary experience & wonderful atmosphere! The food is amazing; so tasty, flavourful & fresh. Our waitress Elizabeth made amazing recommendations & we had so much fun with her! From the makis, to the gyozas, amazing wine selection & sake bombs, Kyo is a must go!!
Clumsy waitress with a so-called omakase plate of bird food. Used to get takeout delivery from this place regularly when it was good but the freshness level had gone down so I stopped ordering. The dine-in experience last night has reminded my previous judgement.

Some friends of mine gave me a gift card for this beautiful place, very fancy & in an amazing position in old port (2 min by walk from place d'armes station). Great expectations, unluckily very disappointed. The service was warm & comforting, I asked some special things & they had no problem to change for me. Thank you! 😊 In my opinion the food is too pricy for the quality. I ate better in some sushi all you can eat. I expected higher quality ingredients (like fresh fish, that instead didn't taste of anything). Too many ingredients that always in my opinion didn't match very well. I prefer the original simple Japanese sushi, only rice & fresh fish. It's anyway a nice experience to do once.
Great location in Old Montreal. Excellent food sub par service, & needs more fresh air inside Food: got the wagyu gyoza - excellent, fried chicken appetizer - also excellent, sushi rolls were fine Service: kinda rushed, & distracted Atmosphere: ventilation is low, feels like a pub Overall food being good makes up for a lot of soft points
Had a wonderful experience at Kyo Bar japonais! The food was fresh, beautifully presented, & full of authentic flavors, so well-prepared & delicious. A special shoutout to Jacob, our waiter, who truly elevated our dining experience. He was friendly, attentive, & knowledgeable about the menu, making excellent recommendations that we loved. His service added a personal touch to the meal. It's definitely a place to revisit if you're looking for great Japanese cuisine with excellent service!

This was an absolute fine dining experience which was a must. It's located at a great spot pretty close to the basilica & core area. Me & my friend ordered the yakitori, beef sushi & curry katsu which were all delicious & fresh. 100% recommend this to anyone wanting some good Japanese food in Montreal.
