Le Kyo Bar Japonais offre une ambiance vivante et chic dans le Vieux-Montréal, où des plats japonais authentiques et frais sont servis avec soin et présentation soignée. Le menu propose un large éventail de sushis et sashimis, accompagnés de plats à partager tels que gyoza wagyu, takoyaki et udon, et des menus dégustation appréciés. Très belle expérience au Kyo Bar japonais ! Les plats étaient vraiment délicieux : les makis étaient très bons, & surtout les rouleaux de printemps, extrêmement frais & excellents. Les gyozas étaient également une réussite, les calamars egalement avec une panure très fine & savoureuse. On sent une très bonne idée & un vrai soin dans la cuisine. L'ambiance est un peu bruyante, mais cela reste tout à fait acceptable. Une adresse à recommander !
C'est la première fois que je vais au Kyo bar & que le service est DÉCEVANT. C'était lent... & ça, c,xest quand notre serveur daignait venir nous voir. Nous avions commandé une 2e bouteille qui n'est jamais arrivée... nous serions resté us longtemps mais honnêtement,nous avions l'impression de déranger. La bouffe par contre, rien à redire: Un délice !

Je suis allé au Kyo Bar Japonais avec un groupe d'amis & j'ai vraiment adoré l'expérience du début à la fin.
Nous y sommes allés samedi dernier sans réservation &, malgré l'achalandage, nous avons réussi à avoir une place, ce qui a très bien commencé la soirée !
L'ambiance est vraiment réussie, chic, chaleureuse & bien équilibrée. C'est l'endroit parfait pour passer une belle soirée entre amis, dans un cadre élégant & agréable.
& que dire du service ! Le service était impeccable! Notre serveur, William, était super attentionné, agréable & connaissait parfaitement son menu & prenait le temps de bien nous expliquer les assiettes. Ses recommandations étaient excellentes & ont vraiment ajouté à l'expérience.
Côté nourriture, rien à redire tout était excellent. Nous avons partagé plusieurs plats & chaque bouchée était fraîche, savoureuse & bien présentée. On voit clairement la qualité & le soin apporté aux plats.
Une expérience complète qu'on recommande sans hésiter. On en reparle encore dans notre groupe d'amis & c'est certain qu'on va y retourner !
Had an amazing experience at Kyo Bar Japanois! We ordered the poke bowls & they were absolutely delicious-super fresh, flavorful, & beautifully presented. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients.
The service was outstanding as well. The staff were friendly, attentive, & made sure we had everything we needed. The ambiance is also a great vibe-perfect for a night out or even a casual dinner.
Highly recommend & will definitely be coming back!

Kyo bar Japanese is among the highest-rated sushi restaurants in Montreal. However, personally, I found the sushi extremely bland & did not enjoy the food at all.
The service, on the other hand, was impeccable. I'm not sure if it was an off day, but based on my experience, the sushi really did not meet my expectations.
Our son-in-law took us here for a wonderful dinner. We had the loveliest time & a great dinner service. I want to thank all of the staff at Kyo Bar. Thank you.

Kyo bar never disappoints! My partner & I always come here to celebrate our anniversary because the food, service & atmosphere are always incredible. The sashimi & pork belly are to die for!
The servers were so attentive & kind despite the restaurant being completely packed.
Overall we had a nice evening at Kyo Bar. However, the place is very popular & was very crowded with many people waiting in the entrance area (thankfully we were not seated there). Also the service was doing its best but everything was quite slow or rather untimed. My main dish arrived way before my boyfriends & then the bottle of wine we had ordered arrived as very last (when I had already nearly finished my main). Food was good & tasty but menu describing the dishes was at times a bit misleading.
I sat at the bar & was welcomed extremely well. Great food accompanied by great service from Tony. He has an impeccable knowledge of the menu & gave me perfect recommendations. I would definitely come back again!
We returned to Kyo Bar Japonais for the first time since before the pandemic, & it reminded us why this spot is one of our favourites in Montreal. The atmosphere is lively & stylish, with a cool vibe that fits perfectly in the heart of Old Montreal.
We tried several dishes, & everything was excellent - but the grilled shiitake & pork belly were absolute standouts, packed with flavour & perfectly prepared. Service was friendly & attentive without being overbearing, which added to the overall great experience.
Kyo is exactly the kind of restaurant that makes Montreal dining so special. Delicious food, warm service, & a fantastic location. We'll definitely be back again soon!

Kyo Japanese Sushi Bar is outstanding! The quality of the sushi is top-notch - fresh, flavorful, & beautifully prepared. The ambiance is just as amazing, with a modern yet cozy vibe that makes dining here a real experience. Perfect spot for both sushi lovers & anyone looking to enjoy a great night out. Highly recommend!
Kyo Bar, c'est validé. Tout était hyper bon, le service allait à la vitesse lumière alors que le resto était blindé, & mochi sur le gâteau, après qu'on ait rabâché 10 fois à notre serveuse que leur sauce était incroyable, elle nous a offert un pot à emporter. Queen. 👑
Seuls hics : les toilettes sont pas vraiment le spot Pinterest de l'année, & le tataki de boeuf aurait pu passer un coup chez le boucher pour enlever un peu d'épaisseur. Mais à part ça, rien à dire ! 🙏🤌👏
A fun & cozy izakaya bar. The kaarage chicken was an absolute winner. Crispy, crunchy, moist inside, & has a delightful slightly spicy warmth. Perfectly done japanese fried chicken that pairs well with Asahi beer. The gyozas weren't so perfect, drowning in a Thai sweet hot sauce. The curry chicken sauce was flavorful & popping but the chicken was was ordinary, slightly over cooked, there wasnt anything to dip into the curry sauce so we ordered a bowl of rice to accompany. The sushi was surprisingly good. We ordered califonia rolls, & it arrived with sweet tamago, unexpected & yet delightful sweet touch. We also ordered a rainbow roll, that was also good.
Had lunch at Kyo Bar Japonais with a colleague - food was fresh & tasty. Two of the dishes were great, one was a bit bland, but overall nothing to complain about. Sitting outside in the sun definitely added bonus points - felt like a little nice outing from the office.
Service was quick, but not exactly warm. Our waiter seemed like a nice guy, but he talked fast. I asked what he recommends, & he just threw out two items super quickly with zero explanation - like, blink & you miss it. Felt more like a drive-by suggestion than actual guidance.
Still, the vibe was good, the food mostly delivered, & the outdoor seating is the real star. Just maybe check the menu ahead of time…'cause you're not getting much help once you're there.

Food was good & service at the bar was great. I had the spicy tuna roll & shiitake mushroom dish & liked both! Paired really nicely with a glass of Sancerre.
My husband & I had an amazing time at Kyo Bar Japonais, we've already been twice! The food was incredibly fresh, beautifully plated & packed with authentic flavors. Every dish was expertly prepared & absolutely delicious. It's definitely a must-visit spot whenever we're in Montreal!

The service was top-notch, with friendly & attentive staff who were happy to answer all our questions about the menu & make recommendations. & speaking of the menu, the selection of sushi & Japanese dishes was impressive, with something for every taste & preference. What really impressed us, however, was the quality & presentation of the dishes. Each plate was carefully crafted to be both visually appealing & delicious, with garnishes & sauces added with flair. It's clear that the chefs at Kyo Bar Japonais are passionate about their craft & take pride in every dish that leaves the kitchen. Overall, I would highly recommend Kyo Bar Japonais to anyone looking for an exceptional sushi experience. The food was very very good but the service was terrible. First time I've been at lunchtime, it was pretty loud so I asked if the table in the corner was available. The server barked at me that "table number 4" isn't available (as if I knew what table number 4 was.) I was taken aback with how he responded to me so I said "excuse me?" & he barked at me again that that table wasn't available & I had two choices for a table & I needed to pick one. Then when we got the food, I couldn't get his attention to ask for soya sauce so I got up to ask. Again I needed a refill of water but no one came for refills so I had to get up again to get his attention to have a water refill. All in all, the service ruined the very good meal
