Overall, the food was good, & the 20-piece sashimi featured high-quality cuts that practically melted in our mouths. However, it is quite expensive when compared to similar nearby establishments like Freddi or Yubari.
Our service experience was a bit odd. We accepted a suggestion for a specific sake, only for the waitress to return later & inform us it was out of stock. Unfortunately, I was charged for both the sake we drank & the one that was unavailable, which I only noticed after paying. When I called the waitress back to the table & mentioned there was an error, she immediately agreed before looking at the bill or letting me finish my sentence. It left us feeling confused, as though she already knew she had made the mistake. They did apologize & issue a refund, but the interaction felt a bit unsettling.
5 stars across the board, must eat in Montreal! Simon our server was excellent & the sashimi was so fresh! Everything is done super intentionally, down to the tableware. Truly an amazing experience well worth the price point!

Pricey but it's worth it. Chef's choice sashimi portions were huge & delicious! Definitely coming back. Staff were great & very welcoming. Bartenders are very talented drinks were amazing. You gotta come here at least once when in the area of downtown Montreal.
The cocktails, mocktails & food are all great. We loved the 10 pc chef's sashimi, 10 pc chef's maki, vegetarian spring rolls, & particularly the tataki sake. The matcha colada, Taiyo, fleur du Kyo, & eclat rose were all delicious as well. They were easily able to accommodate a gluten allergy. Service was good.
My friend & I were so excited to eat here as the reviews seem amazing & the pictures looked incredible.
But overall we thought the food was mid & expensive for what it was. We ordered gyoza, the 7 pc sashimi & 15 pc chefs choice sushi. Nothing special about it tbh… This place was pretty disappointing considering how highly it's rated. However the atmosphere was pretty cool & the decor was nice.
But other than that, we wouldn't come back
Honestly, this was a disappointing experience. Given the prices, the quality felt underwhelming at best.
We ordered the Gyuyaki (miso), which arrived cold & chewy, with nothing particularly memorable about it. We also went for the chef's choice sashimi & maki. When you order something labeled'chef's choice,' you expect it to showcase the restaurant's strengths, both in flavor & creativity. Unfortunately, neither stood out. It lacked not only originality but also depth in taste.
As someone who genuinely loves sushi & has tried everything from high-end omakase to more casual spots, I can confidently say I've had better experiences at places that cost significantly less.
The only dish I truly enjoyed was the mushroom skewers, which were flavorful & well-prepared.
Service was another letdown. From the beginning, the waiter came across as unfriendly & slightly condescending. There was little effort to be helpful or welcoming, & the way the tip was brought up felt awkward & far from subtle.
Overall, it feels like the restaurant has declined since the menu change. Not only were some great items removed, but the overall quality seems to have dropped as well. At this price point, it simply isn't worth it anymore.
The only aspect that still holds up is the ambiance.
