How disappointing. Was looking forward to a nice evening out and a great meal. Got neither. I previously had a very bad experience with the keg in the old port, so I was very hesitant coming here. Waitress was gaunt, very unhappy and smelled of weed.
My date insisted that I didnt complain because they weren't a fan of unpleasant scenes, especially in public. It seemed like such a chore for her to come see us. Her attitude just sucked the life out of our dining experience.
I think her name was Linda or Lisa. I do not recommend her as a waitress at all!
3 of us went for dinner here last night, it was my first time and I absolutely loved it. We shared tuna tacos (wow) and prime rib sliders, for my main dish I had the teriyaki sirloin...one word: delicious!!! I also tried a piece of the blue cheese filet and that was delicious as well. Service could've been a bit faster but the waitress was very nice. Definitely going back!
Amazing steakhouse. Food is great and ambiance is amazing.
My wife and I enjoyed every minute of our evening. The ambiance, food and service were impeccable. Dont mind paying the SAQ x 3 wine prices when your wine is properly served and poured in a timely fashion. I must admit one of my pet peeves are restaurants that hit you with high cork charge... open the bottle, pour the first glass, then never return until you ask for the cheque.
Our waiter was attentive, friendly and polite. Really enjoyed our evening. Cant wait to return.
You can never go wrong with The Keg Steakhouse in Pointe-Claire!

Faaaaaantastic steaks! Definitely recommend, been there a number of times. Can get a little loud in the bar area but the resto proper has a really great ambience for small gatherings or romantic dinners. We really enjoyed ourselves and the servie was great. We even got a complimentary glass of champagne because it was our anniversary!
Food was exceptional. A little over on the pricey side but hey, you get what you pay for. Service was very professional and the food from appetizer to dessert were magnificent! I went here with my partner once when the place had just opened and it was this very pleasant experience. I hope the second time we give it a try would still give us the same impression of the place. Otherwise, i will recommend this place to a friend!
Perfect portion size, perfectly cooked meal , worth every penny
The food served is unimaginative, standard "Pub" fair with upscale decor and unfortunately an upscale price. The service was pleasant. The bill for my wife and myself (BEFORE) tip was $94.28 which included two mains and an one espresso, no alcohol or desert. My prime rib roast beef was the "classic" with the larger 16oz size portion ($37.00). The plate arrived with beef looking like it was hacked off the cow with a blunt knife - an uneven slice. In addition, there was 30% fat and the Keg's version of au jus which tastes like canned beef broth with red wine - real "classy". I've been to the Keg restaurants in Ontario and have enjoyed the food much more, perhaps the quality control has to be tightened.
Hot water, cold food and horrible service. Don't waste your time or hard earned money. There are far better and much less expensive steak houses in the West Island that offer friendly service.
My husband and I both ordered the prime rib. I asked for an end cut with vegetables. The meat was 50-60% fat. When I mentioned this to the waitress, with no apology I was told that was what I could expect from an end cut. The vegetables constituted peppers, 2 very small pieces of asparagus and a couple of pieces of zucchini soaked in oil and served cold and undercooked.
My husband ordered onion soup as an appetizer but the main meal was served within two minutes of the appetizer so he had to make a choice which part of his meal he wanted to eat while it was somewhat hot.
The waitress was curt throughout the meal and presented the bill and stood at the table with her debit/credit machine waiting for immediate payment as if it was an great inconvenience for her to make a trip back to the table.
All the staff were chatting with each other throughout the whole experience and paid little attention to the customers. We left without any comment...no goodbye..have a nice evening...or thank you for coming.
This was definitely the worst $100 spent on a meal in a long time.
Enjoyed dinner here on a very busy Christmas Eve only three weeks after the opening.
I was impressed with the excellent service with no signs of new restaurant problems.
The food was excellent and well presented.
The ambiance has an upscale feel to it and the tables are well spaced so the noise level is low enough to allow comfortable conversations at the good sized tables. There is however a nice background buzz of people enjoying themselves.
The price was very good for the quality of the food and service: $90 for two with no alcohol.
I will be back.
