This place is super fun! Came on a Thursday & sat at the bar with Juan. I wish I got to try everything on the menu but what we had was delicious, including our espresso martinis. Then we finished the night with a bottle of sake dancing the night away to house music. I would love to come back & do it again.

Great place for dinner or dancing! Some of the best djs & a really cool light show. Can get very noisy & packed later in the night though

Came here on a Friday night hoping for a good time, & was thoroughly underwhelmed. For all the hype around this place, I truly expected more. I can't complain about the service - it was standard for nightlife in Montreal. My issue is with the energy inside this place. No one was dancing - at all. Everyone was just standing around/sitting at their booths. This was compounded by the fact that the only music playing was utterly un-danceable house music. I truly don't get the hype, apart from maybe the exclusivity aspect because it's apparently difficult to get into this club. It's a shame because it's a very cool space & I loved the concept! But if you're someone who likes to dance & who isn't a fan of house music, I would skip this place.

Our return to Flyjin was driven by the fantastic experience we had last year. Arriving with a group of girls for our annual trip, Jamie went above & beyond to ensure a memorable night for us. Despite a full coat check, he graciously handled our coats & even assisted in getting us drinks at the bar. The seamless entry on a busy Saturday night, coupled with consistently great vibes, made the night enjoyable. Expect fantastic dancing, an outstanding DJ, & exceptional customer service with delightful cocktails. We are already looking forward to coming back next year! Pro tip: Booking a table in advance is advisable as they tend to sell out quickly. Thank you Flyjin!

Context: we came for dinner & stayed for the club.

The excellent: Service is fantastic. Top notch. This seems consistent across the board with all servers & ours was excellent as well as the other staff.

The good: Food is great. It's pricey, so know that coming in. It's definitely one of those places that will leave you hungry after ~$150 per person. The cod was the best I've had & I'm not a cod fan, but this cod, wow. Beef great. Dumplings were interesting. All prepared excellently. Very small portions.

Drinks were hit & miss. Espresso martini (with tequila) was amazing. Some others were not - whisky sour was weird, spicy tequila/fruity cocktail all right. Your mileage may very.

The iffy: Decor is... odd for this type of place. Sure, it's trendy. There's a lot of plywood involved & it leaves a musty musk in the entire place, & doubly bad if you go to the washrooms. Also plywood paneling. Seems like it was set up to get rebooted or torn out. Or maybe the building has water issues? Rest of the decor is as expected at the price point.

Club: it's a club. It gets pretty packed & not really much space for dancing so keep that in mind.

Would I go back or recommend? Probably not. Your mileage may vary. From a food/drink standpoint, there's other places I would try before circling back here since there was more "all right" than "wow" & at this price point everything could be "wow". It may be the club transformation that gets this place into a "jack-of-all-trades" situation.
