Unfortunately, not my best experience in Montreal.
I arrived around 10 p.m. for a staff Christmas party & was met with a very rude doorman who questioned me excessively, to the point where it felt uncomfortable. I eventually stopped answering & asked my friend to come get me instead.
The ambiance inside was nice-very club-style-but the drinks were extremely expensive. Two gin & tonics cost me $40 + tips. This place is fancy, but the experience (especially at the door) didn't live up to that image.
I visited this club to enjoy a cocktail & some music, but I was pleasantly surprised by the incredible DJ. He perfectly matched the crowd's energy, & I didn't see a single person sitting down. While I missed the strobe lights, the overall ambiance was cool & safe. The people were pleasant, even as the club got crowded later in the evening.
The bartenders & staff were awesome! I'm really glad I got to experience the cool vibe of this club as a solo traveller.
Oysters here are fresh, sashimi are cut well, Youssef will give you the best service!
It is a nice underground club ambience, sometimes too crowded, but the people are well selected at the entry. Highly recommanded
As far as clubs go, it's a very nice vibe.
A bit tight but the music is A1 if house music is your style!
Staff is generally quite friendly & very professional relative to other clubs!
I'm sure this place is great but the line to get inside at 12:30am on a Saturday in the middle of a snowstorm in February was crazy! We gave up after waiting in line for 30 minutes. The entrance after 11pm is from the side street. There was just a big crowd of people, not organized or controlled. Lots of shoving & pushing. Do not plan this location as an after party, make sure you get in for dinner then stay for when it turns into a club.
This is a mixed feeling review... Let's start with the food! It was a delight & perfect in every way! Texture flavour & quantity. This would be a 5 star review for the food. Where it's going downhill for this place is the constant pressure to spend money. We went there with a large group before the hours where it turned into a nightclub. From the start the management pressured us into spending money. We reserved 2 tables for the night club part which was linked with an obligation to buy an absurd amount of alcohol to stay there. The more the night was passing by, the harder the pressure was. The door man pushed us to stay in our boot, staff was rude pushing people to get everywhere. All that being said the atmosphere was still nice. Beautiful people between 20 to 35 on average. It's a nice place if you're looking to spend a lot of money on overpriced booze & be treated like garbage if you don't ;)
Decent fusion (mostly) Asian food & cocktails, really liked their tacos, mushroom mix, & sushi platter. After 11pm it turns into a club, with good sets of DJs. Recommend if you like a fancy dinner with friends + nice house music.
It's a cool club but you need to buy at least 3 bottles to get in if you're a guy. The bouncers are super rude about it too. Expect to pay at least $1200 just to make it inside.
If you wanna have a good night in Montreal, this is the best night club in town. The atmosphere of the place is so fun. The music is more like House type.
One of the better clubs in mtl especially in old port. The DJ was great & everyone is super friendly here
Came here on a Friday night hoping for a good time, & was thoroughly underwhelmed. For all the hype around this place, I truly expected more. I can't complain about the service - it was standard for nightlife in Montreal. My issue is with the energy inside this place. No one was dancing - at all. Everyone was just standing around/sitting at their booths. This was compounded by the fact that the only music playing was utterly un-danceable house music. I truly don't get the hype, apart from maybe the exclusivity aspect because it's apparently difficult to get into this club. It's a shame because it's a very cool space & I loved the concept! But if you're someone who likes to dance & who isn't a fan of house music, I would skip this place.
This restaurant was great find, really dark inside as they were getting ready to transfer the venue into happening club. Gave the feeling of angel & underworld.
Context: we came for dinner & stayed for the club.
The excellent: Service is fantastic. Top notch. This seems consistent across the board with all servers & ours was excellent as well as the other staff.
The good: Food is great. It's pricey, so know that coming in. It's definitely one of those places that will leave you hungry after ~$150 per person. The cod was the best I've had & I'm not a cod fan, but this cod, wow. Beef great. Dumplings were interesting. All prepared excellently. Very small portions.
Drinks were hit & miss. Espresso martini (with tequila) was amazing. Some others were not - whisky sour was weird, spicy tequila/fruity cocktail all right. Your mileage may very.
The iffy: Decor is... odd for this type of place. Sure, it's trendy. There's a lot of plywood involved & it leaves a musty musk in the entire place, & doubly bad if you go to the washrooms. Also plywood paneling. Seems like it was set up to get rebooted or torn out. Or maybe the building has water issues? Rest of the decor is as expected at the price point.
Club: it's a club. It gets pretty packed & not really much space for dancing so keep that in mind.
Would I go back or recommend? Probably not. Your mileage may vary. From a food/drink standpoint, there's other places I would try before circling back here since there was more "all right" than "wow" & at this price point everything could be "wow". It may be the club transformation that gets this place into a "jack-of-all-trades" situation.
its been my go to club for when i wanna party on a wednesday
underground speekeasy kind of vibe
its a suppet clu
Would give this place a 0 if possible. STAY AWAY!!!!
A member of our group made a reservation for DINNER 2 months in advance, confirmed the reservation & was told at the door at 9 pm that would not honour it due to 'an error' & we were told they could not sit us at the bar which had empty seats & did nothing. They said they had the reservation but someone made a non-explained error... The end result was being told to come back after 11 pm to buy a bottle for their nightclub if we wanted to get in at all. The reason for this was made clear to us: we were too many guys for their club... if you are booking & have more guys then girls in your group, they may decide to cancel your booking!
