Following a viewing of the film'American Psycho,' I was fortunate enough to secure a reservation at Dorsia last night. The evening was made truly exceptional by the impeccable service provided by Lucas, Florence, & Mathias, who ensured a remarkable dining experience. The culinary offerings were outstanding. We commenced our meal with the grilled octopus, an excellent appetizer. For the main course, I selected the Paccheri pasta, while my friend enjoyed the duck crown à l'orange. Both dishes were prepared to perfection & entirely delicious.
The restaurant's ambiance was equally impressive; the venue itself is absolutely gorgeous. Overall, this was a fantastic experience. The combination of exceptional service, delicious food, & a beautiful setting makes Dorsia a standout establishment. I am already looking forward to my next visit.
I went to Dorsia with the expectation of an elegant experience... & honestly, I left completely disappointed.
For starters, the place is beautiful, yes, but the service was slow & pretentious. It seemed that the waiters were more focused on showing off than on attending. They took a long time to bring even the water, & anything you asked for seemed to be annoying.
Food does not justify exaggerated prices at all. I ordered homemade pasta & arrived warm, tasteless, as if she had been left resting for too long. The duck dish - which is supposed to be one of its forts - was dry & unfunny. Honestly, I have eaten much better in many simpler restaurants.
The expensive cocktails for what they are, & the atmosphere is too noisy for a place that is supposed to'fine dining.'.
In summary:
❌ The bad thing I experienced
Slow service & not attentive.
Unflavored dishes & warm served.
Prices totally disproportionate to quality.
Noisy & uncomfortable environment.
Lots of appearance, little substance.
Because of the price & fame, I was expecting something memorable... & the only memorable thing was disappointment.
We ordered the duck, foie gras & the sea bream risotto. The sea bream risotto was really tasty, however the duck & the foie gras were not as tasty as I expected. The service was excellent & the ambiance of the restaurant is amazing, very quiet & spacious.
5 stars all the way!
Service is the soul of any business & the heart beat. Each team member harmonized professionalism & playfulness. They were all genuinely warm. Thank you Bun, Jules, Nicole, Rhianna, Lucas, Laurent & a cast of others who we didn't meet & are equally important.
Once the stage was set by the cast of stars, the food became the main attraction. We enjoyed 3 show stoppers. 1) The duck was divine ~ the skin is crisp & succulent. With such a rich dish, the hint of orange zest adds the perfect balance. 2) The sea bass was equally perfect. The meat was moist & flavour-filled & contrasted beautifully with the savoury crispy skin. 3) The tuna carpaccio is a must- enjoy. It was light & especially refreshing with citrus infused gelatine beads which melt in your mouth & taste like heaven.
Bravo to the entire team at the front & back of house. It was an exceptional evening!
Food was great. Service was incredible & our server was incredibly friendly & personable. One of the best old fashioned's I've ever had. Duck crown was definitely the highlight of the meal, although the rest of the food was still very good too. Tiramisu was also fantastic.
However, the only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that we had an incredibly long wait for our entrees to come out. I understand that grand prix weekend is an incredibly busy time but maybe the restaurant needs to manage bookings accordingly... Maybe it should be harder to get a reservation at dorsia!
All in all I would absolutely return & recommend it.... Just maybe not during GP weekend!
Florence took such good care of us! Also get everything duck here, they aren't lying- they do it best. 5 ⭐?s!!! Can't wait to come back.
Food, drinks & service are top notch as always, I would definitely recommend anyone to try the Duck a l'orange it was delicious. Cannot wait to come here again!
Incredible! Had the best experience since a long time. Been 3 times we order the duck meat & we're still not over it. Soooo good! Highly recommend. Perfect for date, celebration dinner, casual lunch or little good time downstairs. + they have blue cheese stuffed olives martinis… divine
Loved everything ! To the service, the ambiance & the food. I recommend the duck, it was amazing!!
Thank you for the wonderful night Dorsia !
The Cesar salad tasted like water & the cocktails were also flavorless. The duck was cooked beautifully but was under seasoned. The highlight was the mushroom sunchoke medley that came with it however paired together made for a very one note Asian 5 spice flavor. The service was good & the restaurant is beautiful just not really worth the price.
Honestly the place was really nice in terms of design & layout. The vibe was relax & classy. The service was good. We had to wait for a few drinks but that's ok. The food was all at a good temperature but so bland. The drinks were also pretty lackluster. The Cesar salad needs a redesign. Over sauced with a bland sauce, no crunch or anything to add texture. The duck was fine but again needed seasoning. At the price tag for that duck, I've had better in China town for $40. The price to food flavor experience just inst there. I hope this is helpful criticism to help this place improve & be successful.
The restaurant is trying, & the menu sounds inventive, but it didn't deliver on what it advertised. Not only was the serving of burrata meager, the tomatoes were mealy in texture & the dish should have been accompanied by some salt. The pasta special for the night was advertised as having maitake mushrooms, but I couldn't taste it. Moreover, the raviolis were garnished with thin slices of button mushrooms. This looked cheap, didn't add any flavor, & had no color charisma. The duck leg Cavalli didn't taste like duck at all! & the texture of the meat was like ground veal or pork In fact, I think it was one of those two meats. & there was insufficient micro basil on this dish. Very disappointing experience
Been there twice & service is great, great drinks & great food as well. The ceasar salad is great as well as the duck.
THANK YOU AMINE!! Dorsia🤍 is a true culinary gem that offers an unforgettable dining experience from start to finish. Every dish is a masterpiece, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to quality, creativity, & flavor. The duck was a standout-perfectly cooked with a crispy skin & tender, juicy meat that melted in my mouth. The richness of the duck was balanced beautifully with a subtle sweetness that made every bite a delight. Next came the salmon sashimi-a dish that surprised & delighted with its fresh & melting texture, creating a harmonious blend that was both sophisticated & comforting. The scallop ceviche was a revelation. The scallops were incredibly fresh, with a perfect balance of acidity & sweetness. Each bite was light, refreshing, & bursting with flavor, making it a perfect appetizer to whet the appetite. The steak filet mignon tartare was another highlight. The beef was of exceptional quality, finely chopped & seasoned to perfection. The tartare had a rich, robust flavor with just the right amount of spice, making it a dish I would return for again & again. The atmosphere is warm & inviting, & the service is top-notch. I can't recommend this place enough-every dish is a culinary journey worth taking.
From tepid food to weird ambiance - this place is mediocre all around. I really wanted to like it, & the whole "Dorsia" premise is awesome - but just like the literary Dorsia in American Psycho, this one is vapid & devoid of value. It's downright weird with waitstaff bringing a plate to the table asking if we wanted to take a photo... No, I won't be taking a photo of a duck breast tonight, thanks. At this price point, lukewarm food won't do. On the positive side, the bathrooms are great, & so is the location.
Beautiful restaurant. Food was great. The lamb tagliatelle, the duck, the salmon crudo & tartare appetizers & the Cesar salad all really great. Amine is always a great host, alongside his team, including Reynald & Katie.
Gorgeous restaurant, outstanding staff, food is incredible. Seriously unbelievably impressed with how good this was by any standard, especially for being new. Truly u believable. You need to get the tartare & the duck.
