Deville Dinerbar donne une impression de lieu animé au charme rétro moderne, idéal pour un brunch entre amis, un dîner décontracté ou une soirée dynamique. La carte propose des portions généreuses, des saveurs marquées et une vaste sélection de cocktails, avec des plats phares comme les burgers, les ribs, le ribeye, les mac and cheese wontons et des salades colorées, tandis que les desserts et les présentations impressionnent souvent. Le service est souvent salué pour sa gentillesse, son attention et son professionnalisme, avec des équipes qui donnent l impression d accueillir et de prendre soin des clients; toutefois certaines visites signalent un service parfois lent ou une ambiance bruyante due à la musique. Dans l ensemble, Deville Dinerbar offre une nourriture solide, des boissons bien construites et une ambiance vibrante qui pousse à revenir, avec un rapport qualité-prix variable selon les plats mais l expérience demeure généralement positive.
Deville Dinerbar is one of those places that quietly becomes part of your rotation without forcing it. I've been a few times over the past few months, mostly for drinks & a few appetizers & each visit has been consistently good.
It strikes a nice balance: approachable enough for a casual stop-in, but polished enough that it still feels like you've gone somewhere.
What I Liked:
I haven't done a full meal yet, but what I have had has been impressive.
The lamb chops were fantastic… well cooked, flavorful, & the kind of dish you don't expect to stand out as much as it does. The pulled short rib lettuce tacos were also a highlight… light, well balanced, & easy to keep going back to.
On our most recent visit, we sat at the bar & ordered a bottle of wine. Service was quick & genuinely friendly. There was a natural ease to the interaction, some laughs, no script, no rush… which always makes a difference.
One small knock: two wines we initially tried to order weren't available. That said, the server helped us pivot to something else that was actually less expensive & still enjoyable, so no real harm done.
Atmosphere & Vibe:
The space leans into an upscale American diner concept, but does it tastefully.
It's upbeat without being loud, refined without being stiff. Sitting at the bar, there's a nice energy, people coming & going, food flowing out that genuinely looks great, & a sense that the place knows exactly what it is.
Location is also a big plus. Being close to Peel metro & surrounded by nightlife makes it an easy stop-whether you're starting your night or just passing through.
Closing:
Deville is a great go-to when you want something reliable, a little elevated, & easy.
It's not trying to be the best meal you've ever had, but it doesn't need to be. It delivers consistently, feels good to be in, & leaves you wanting to come back.
I'll definitely be returning for a full meal & will update once I do.
Visiting MTL for the first time & so thrilled that this was our first dinner here. Food was delicious with generous portions, drinks had tons of creative flavors (& were strong), & the bar staff were so friendly. Jayden in particular was super cool to chat with & offered some advice to help us decide if we're moving here :)

The food was delicious. The waiter was very pleasant & attentive. Some guys were watching sports at the bar, so there was the occasional spike in noise but overall it was fine. Definitely would go again.
Way overhyped for what it actually is. Food'quality' is good - good quality meats & vegetables. Flavors are not good (I know that's subjective), plating is not good - way too large for the tables, no room on the table. Very large, yet pretty bare, plates.
Service was mediocre (& I'm being kind here). The restaurant was empty - barely 4 tables. We were all seated/crammed one next to the other. We couldn't get a booth'just in case a big group came over' - although we had reserved. Waitress was not friendly & didn't check on us regularly. Manager was arguing with another table. You are not allowed substitutions... Basically, everything was'no','no','no'.
If you are to spend >100$ per person (without drinks) take your money elsewhere for better tasting food & way better service.
Absolutely loved this place, staff was stellar, the chef came out & chatted a bit. The fork & knife Caesar salad was incredible, I've come back home & it's the main thing that stuck out to me. No idea how a salad struck me so well, but it was amazing.
I had a steak sandwich too, just to try, wasn't my favorite, but I don't think I like steak sandwiches, I was just trying something new. The bread was amazing though & freshly made. The drinks were also very good, & the bar tender was very friendly.
Unlike much of Montreal the music wasn't exploding my eardrums & it was a nice comfy spot. Does close a little early, but highlight recommend if you're looking for a bite!

Once again, as always, everyone at Deville made me feel at home! Our meat was cooked to perfection & everything was delicious. Mention to the new bar tender & grateful for his agility & making a custom Appletini ;)High 5 to Samuel, on if the best waiter & one the OG in the Team.Thank you all for this one more dinner night out experience at one of my Montreal's favorite! Nice cozy street in the middle of bustling neighborhood.
Beautifully designed, the restaurant provides accommodation for any occasion. Thoughtful distribution of different areas inside makes it possible to enjoy your evening, party or romantic dinner at all times. The bar in the middle looks vibrant & inviting.
& then the food. Delicious.
Excellent execution. Beautiful presentation. The menu is impressive & extensive. Whatever you crave for you will be satisfied. Portions are generous. Any modification is possible. Every single course , be it meat, pasta, salad or dessert , is prepared at the top level.
You want to try it all!
Same feeling for the bar. If you don't find your ideal drink just ask for it & you will be happy.
The team is professional. You feel welcome & cared for.
You don't need an occasion to be there.
Just go.

I think it's the first time I give 5 stars to a restaurant but this!!!!! The vibe is nice the staffs are nice. They recommend good things & also the music wasn't as loud as I thought it would be, so you could actually make a conversation with ur friends. The Bartender Zack ( don't know how to write his name) THE BESTTTTTT!!!! The drinks are good like hella good & he is sweet! Will come back for sure.
I was by myself & sat at the bar, not sure what to expect. I just went in because it was dinnertime & I was passing by, but the food & drinks were excellent. Zev & Lauren, the two bartenders were incredible! They were so friendly & I had a great time chatting with them. Usually when I go out to eat by myself I just eat my meal quickly & leave, but I had such a nice time that I even ordered dessert. (The oreo milkshake is delicious)
I was searching for a place for a light meal near our hotel. This diner bar popped up on my radar. Didn't expect this place to be suitable for kids. They even have a kids menu (not a physical one but a verbal one).
When we arrived, we felt under dressed since there were patrons in smart casual attire. We were immediately guided upstairs where there were casually dressed people like us. We notice a few tables with families with kids. Our kids ordered mac & cheese unfortunately did not taste good & the burger wasn't the best. They ordered an orange juice but got apple. Kids didn't even have the appetite for dessert.
The music was too loud to even communicate properly which led to a miscommunication - mix up of an order. Thankfully they rectified it.
Overall this place wasn't for us, but I guess others might say otherwise.
I enjoyed my pasta & meatballs at deville dinner bar but the pasta could gave been a little softer. I also enjoyed the Mac n cheese fried wontons but theyve changed their breading & its not as good. The portion was generous I forgot to take a picture of my marshmallow milkshake thats always a hit for me!
Very disappointed & dissatisfied with restaurant management! Average food, large portions. VERY slow service, NOT due to waiter! Supposedly other waiter injured? Management did not apologize or offer any comp! & added 20% tip to bill automatically! Shame on management that was present & sitting at bar not helping situation chatting with DJ!!!!
Very good place! Food, service, everything! We came second time for a breakfast but this atmosphere totally perfect for dinner, night chatting on the bar with nice cocktails (all looks great). It is for sure my go to place in Montreal.
