Deville Dinerbar is one of those places that quietly becomes part of your rotation without forcing it. I've been a few times over the past few months, mostly for drinks & a few appetizers & each visit has been consistently good.
It strikes a nice balance: approachable enough for a casual stop-in, but polished enough that it still feels like you've gone somewhere.
What I Liked:
I haven't done a full meal yet, but what I have had has been impressive.
The lamb chops were fantastic… well cooked, flavorful, & the kind of dish you don't expect to stand out as much as it does. The pulled short rib lettuce tacos were also a highlight… light, well balanced, & easy to keep going back to.
On our most recent visit, we sat at the bar & ordered a bottle of wine. Service was quick & genuinely friendly. There was a natural ease to the interaction, some laughs, no script, no rush… which always makes a difference.
One small knock: two wines we initially tried to order weren't available. That said, the server helped us pivot to something else that was actually less expensive & still enjoyable, so no real harm done.
Atmosphere & Vibe:
The space leans into an upscale American diner concept, but does it tastefully.
It's upbeat without being loud, refined without being stiff. Sitting at the bar, there's a nice energy, people coming & going, food flowing out that genuinely looks great, & a sense that the place knows exactly what it is.
Location is also a big plus. Being close to Peel metro & surrounded by nightlife makes it an easy stop-whether you're starting your night or just passing through.
Closing:
Deville is a great go-to when you want something reliable, a little elevated, & easy.
It's not trying to be the best meal you've ever had, but it doesn't need to be. It delivers consistently, feels good to be in, & leaves you wanting to come back.
I'll definitely be returning for a full meal & will update once I do.

Visiting MTL for the first time & so thrilled that this was our first dinner here. Food was delicious with generous portions, drinks had tons of creative flavors (& were strong), & the bar staff were so friendly. Jayden in particular was super cool to chat with & offered some advice to help us decide if we're moving here :)
Went for an employee dinner. We were a group of 10 with a baby. The staff were very accommodating from start to finish! Our waiter was amazing, offering suggestions on drinks/food options & being so flexible with such a large group!
We had a set menu due to group size which at first I wasn't sure that would work but it was perfect & the food was amazing! Portions are very big so make sure to bring your appetite!
Booked this restaurant over a week in advance,then 24 hours before the reservation a manager named'Sophie' called to say there was a glitch in the system & needed to move my reservation. She was extremely rude & lacks professionalism to say the least. I then spoke to another manager'Ali' who was polite & told me he would'take care of the group & give a round of free drinks' for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, he back tracked on his word because some of the people in the group cancelled because of their system glitch. He also said he was waiving a fee of $25 because we were late! That's a lie..originally reservations were at 8pm snd they moved it to 9:15. All in all, very disappointing experience & would not return or recommend this restaurant. Customer service ZERO. Server was good though, nothing bad to say.

I've been to this restaurant twice: once for drinks & once for a meal.
The ambiance is really nice, especially upstairs, & the wall paintings give it a nice touch.
We tried the Devil Burger, which was okay, & the staff were friendly & welcoming.
The music was really my style,
& I feel the value for money could be a bit better.
Way overhyped for what it actually is. Food'quality' is good - good quality meats & vegetables. Flavors are not good (I know that's subjective), plating is not good - way too large for the tables, no room on the table. Very large, yet pretty bare, plates.
Service was mediocre (& I'm being kind here). The restaurant was empty - barely 4 tables. We were all seated/crammed one next to the other. We couldn't get a booth'just in case a big group came over' - although we had reserved. Waitress was not friendly & didn't check on us regularly. Manager was arguing with another table. You are not allowed substitutions... Basically, everything was'no','no','no'.
If you are to spend >100$ per person (without drinks) take your money elsewhere for better tasting food & way better service.
We reserved at this restaurant because of the name, we honestly chose it for that BUT so glad we did. What a GEM! The food was amazing, we actually can't stop thinking about the app we ordered (Mac & Cheese wontons) & the ribeye I ordered melted in your mouth. I do have to say the time to get our drinks was absolutely absurd but they were slammed so I'll still give a 5 star because the service was nice & the food is worth the 2 hour drive. We will definitely be returning to try other dishes but in the meantime we highly recommend the Short Rib Mac & Cheese, the ribeye steak & the Mac & Cheese wontons!
Returned to this restaurant & again, it was fabulous. The food was delicious, the apps were amazing & the service & atmosphere were even better then the last time! Added photos of this round of food as well! Highly recommend!!
We were on a trip from Maine & had a whole list of restaurants we were excited to try! After enjoying dinner on November 14th, we couldn't resist coming back the next night-& later that same night, we swung by again to grab some monkey bread to go! Haha!
Honestly, this place blew me away! The food, the drinks, & the service were all absolutely fantastic. I'm so glad I'm a bit far away from that tempting monkey bread, but I'm counting down the days until I can come back!

Absolutely loved this place, staff was stellar, the chef came out & chatted a bit. The fork & knife Caesar salad was incredible, I've come back home & it's the main thing that stuck out to me. No idea how a salad struck me so well, but it was amazing.
I had a steak sandwich too, just to try, wasn't my favorite, but I don't think I like steak sandwiches, I was just trying something new. The bread was amazing though & freshly made. The drinks were also very good, & the bar tender was very friendly.
Unlike much of Montreal the music wasn't exploding my eardrums & it was a nice comfy spot. Does close a little early, but highlight recommend if you're looking for a bite!
We had an amazing brunch at this spot in Montreal! I ordered the Deville scramble with cheddar cheese eggs & potatoes - everything was so flavorful & perfectly cooked. The Caesar Bloody Marys were spicy, refreshing, & super tasty. My husband's dish was also excellent.
Overall, a great brunch experience in Montreal - delicious food, fun drinks, & a lively atmosphere. Highly recommend!
Just had few drinks but the place looks amazing & their staff is top. We will come back to try the menu.
Edit : Few months later we had finally lunch here. Everything was perfect, great service, fresh nice & tasty food. The hamburger was amazing. The whole place looks clean & tidy, great job. Thanks to Igor & his excellent attention.

Beautifully designed, the restaurant provides accommodation for any occasion. Thoughtful distribution of different areas inside makes it possible to enjoy your evening, party or romantic dinner at all times. The bar in the middle looks vibrant & inviting.
& then the food. Delicious.
Excellent execution. Beautiful presentation. The menu is impressive & extensive. Whatever you crave for you will be satisfied. Portions are generous. Any modification is possible. Every single course , be it meat, pasta, salad or dessert , is prepared at the top level.
You want to try it all!
Same feeling for the bar. If you don't find your ideal drink just ask for it & you will be happy.
The team is professional. You feel welcome & cared for.
You don't need an occasion to be there.
Just go.
Lauren & Elise were absolutely fabulous! They were master drink creators & were so friendly & courteous. I highly recommend Lauren's espresso martini….best I have EVER had!!
I think it's the first time I give 5 stars to a restaurant but this!!!!! The vibe is nice the staffs are nice. They recommend good things & also the music wasn't as loud as I thought it would be, so you could actually make a conversation with ur friends. The Bartender Zack ( don't know how to write his name) THE BESTTTTTT!!!! The drinks are good like hella good & he is sweet! Will come back for sure.
I was by myself & sat at the bar, not sure what to expect. I just went in because it was dinnertime & I was passing by, but the food & drinks were excellent. Zev & Lauren, the two bartenders were incredible! They were so friendly & I had a great time chatting with them. Usually when I go out to eat by myself I just eat my meal quickly & leave, but I had such a nice time that I even ordered dessert. (The oreo milkshake is delicious)
