Deville has been my favourite restaurant in Montreal for the longest. I've been going there for several years (since way back when they had that jalapeno cornbread skillet entrée). I've had breakfast & dinner here many times over. Great food, great cocktails, great service.

Sam on the mezzanine Saturday night was amazing ! Beautiful smile, super polite & attentive, even after I miscalculated his tip & gave him less then he deserved, he kept smiling & wish us a great night. Food & cocktail were awesome. We will be back to make the gratuity right ! Sorry Sam xx you were the best !!

J'ai beaucoup aimé l'ambiance du lieu : c'est vivant, agréable & le décor a un côté rétro-moderne très réussi. Le service était sympathique & rapide. Les plats étaient bons, bien présentés & savoureux, mais honnêtement, le rapport qualité-prix n'est pas tout à fait au niveau.
En revanche, les cocktails sont excellents. On sent qu'ils y mettent du savoir-faire : les recettes sont originales, bien équilibrées & très bien servies. Si vous aimez les bons cocktails, ça vaut clairement le détour juste pour ça.
En résumé, c'est une belle adresse pour prendre un verre & profiter de l'ambiance, mais peut-être pas le meilleur choix si vous venez surtout pour bien manger sans trop dépenser.

Nous avons pris 3 entrées à partager, crudo au thon, taco au Wagyu & des huitres & chacune des entrées étaient délectables. La serveuse a pris le temps de nous proposer des cocktails selon nos goûts, & nous a offert un service qui a dépasser mes attentes.
J'y retournerai assurément.

This place bills itself as an American Diner. It's not. The food is far too good to call this a diner. No disrespect to diners: I love a good corned beef hash. The burgers on this menu are so next level, they're orbiting the earth. I had the Paris No. 7. It was served on a wholly unnecessary brioche bun. The dish was swimming in a beefy, winey sauce that... well, let me rescind what I said above. You will want the bread so you can soak up every drop. I had a house side salad which is so good, they should just force everyone to get it by dropping fries from their menu. Cocktails were also pure perfection. Totally unexpected & wholly enjoyable dinner.

This was my second visit to this restaurant after the first time a little over a year ago. I was introduced to this restaurant by a group of coworkers & being back in Montreal with family, I could not wait for them to discover it as well.
Service was stellar, our waitress Manon was very helpful & more than anything else, truly enjoyed her work. She was smiling all dinner long, offered to take a picture of the table, & served our food at the perfect pace.
Food was delicious, we all tried something different & everyone loved their meal. I had the steak frites & it rivaled the best steak house restaurants I've been to. Definitely the best value I've had for a cut of steak at a restaurant in a while. Cooked to perfection & don't even get me started on the peppercorn sauce.
Now living far & being back in Montreal for a short visit, it's definitely nice to eat at unique spots that deliver on food, service & decor. Was it the cheapest meal we had during the trip? No. Was it the best? Definitely yes & while it's more expensive than a chain restaurant, the price difference is so little that it's irrelevant. & I dare you to find better value or a better meal for your money. I visited Toronto a couple weeks back & we ate at a restaurant twice this price that wasn't even half as good as Deville Dinebar.
Special mention: really delicious cocktails!

C'était ma deuxième visite dans ce restaurant après la première fois il y a un peu plus d'un an. J'ai découvert ce restaurant grâce à des collègues &, de retour à Montréal en famille, j'avais hâte qu'ils le découvrent eux aussi.
Le service était impeccable, notre serveuse Manon était très serviable &, plus que tout, elle semble vraiment apprécier son travail. Elle a souri tout au long du repas, a offert de prendre une photo de la table & a servi nos plats à un rythme parfait.
La nourriture était délicieuse, on a tous essayé quelque chose de différent & tout le monde a adoré. J'ai pris le steak-frites & il rivalisait avec les meilleurs steakhouses que j'ai visité. C'est sans aucun doute le meilleur rapport qualité-prix que j'ai eu pour un morceau de viande au restaurant depuis longtemps. Cuisson parfaite, & ne me parlez même pas de la sauce au poivre.
Vivant maintenant loin & de retour à Montréal pour un court séjour, c'est vraiment agréable de manger dans des endroits uniques qui offrent une cuisine, un service & un décor exceptionnels. Était-ce le repas le moins cher qu'on a mangé pendant le voyage ? Non. Était-ce le meilleur ? Absolument, & même si c'est plus cher qu'une chaîne, la différence de prix est si minime qu'elle n'a aucune importance. & je vous mets au défi de trouver un meilleur rapport qualité-prix ou un meilleur repas. J'ai visité Toronto il y a quelques semaines & on a mangé dans un resto deux fois plus cher, qui était deux fois moins bon que le Deville Dinebar.
Mention spéciale : des cocktails vraiment délicieux !
Ça vaut vraiment le coup d'y aller ! J'y retournerai lors de mon prochain séjour à Montréal.

They were nice to allow my dog on the patio. The service was great from our waitress. Friendly & accommodating.
The fries were fantastic. Thin & crispy. Overall the food was delicious from the burgers to the pastas & cocktails.
Highly recommend!

Deville Dinerbar est un restaurant chaleureux où l'ambiance musicale, à la fois variée & bien dosée, contribue à une atmosphère détendue & agréable.
Le service est irréprochable : professionnel, attentionné & toujours respectueux. On s'y sent bien accueilli du début à la fin.
Les cocktails sont aussi beaux que bons bien présentés, rafraîchissants & savoureux. Côté cuisine, les plats sont généreusement servis, savoureux & parfaitement exécutés.
Une excellente adresse pour passer un bon moment entre amis ou en couple, dans un cadre à la fois moderne & convivial.

Fantastic dinner first night out with our family of six in Montreal. Deville was recommended by the concierge at the Omni. Great advice! Food & service were tremendous. I got the Tao Chicken Salad. My wife got a delicious vodka cocktail. Highly recommend!

Very good place! Food, service, everything! We came second time for a breakfast but this atmosphere totally perfect for dinner, night chatting on the bar with nice cocktails (all looks great). It is for sure my go to place in Montreal.

I can't say this enough,the service was absolutely impeccable. Our waiter Ricky was so great, we left feeling like we were the only people in the restaurant (which was packed before the hockey game) & who doesn't love a cocktail with champagne? The food was great but with all honesty we would really come back for Ricky. 10/10!

Dined here for brunch on a Sunday morning. Wonderful patio outside. The service was exemplary. Cocktails were refreshing too. Enjoyed the smoked salmon & braised short ribs. Everything was spot on & it was highly enjoyable. Merci.

I will definitely come back to deville. We ordered a lot of food including: ribs, steak salad, burger & fries, & dessert. The cocktails are to die for & the ambiance is nice.

Excellent service. Igor, our server, was phenomenal. He truly made this experience with my family absolutely incredible. Fantastic food with excellent presentation. Cocktail drinks were perfect. Highly recommend.
