A gastronomical gem in the heart of downtown Montreal ! Serving an exquisite menu that ranges from brunch to lunch to dinner, alongside a bar that shifts the vibe from food to mood.
The staff is amazingly welcoming & friendly - a big shoutout to Maika as she never fails to make the experience a solid 100/10.
The restaurant hosts one of Montreal's top chefs John Zoumis, which serves mouthwatering meals & an elevated welcoming atmosphere.

Highly, highly recommended - 10/10
I cannot tell you enough how AMAZING this restaurant was!
I hadn't visited Montreal is so long …
My friend & I went to a few different restaurants that weren't the greatest & sort of disappointing throughout the week that we were there.
& then we stumbled upon this restaurant/bar on our last night there.
We ordered the fillet mignon, calamari, & these phenomenal tuna tacos!
The entire atmosphere & the food was mind blowing. This is now my favourite restaurant of all time!
Our server was amazing, & even the hostess was fantabulous! Makia B made our night! What an amazing server!
The quality of the food, taste & presentation was outstanding!
I cannot wait to go back!!!
This place is definitely a'MUST'!!!!!
& I can pinky swear & promise you that you would not be disappointed!!
I honestly wish I could rate this restaurant with more than five stars!
I left with the biggest smile on my face & very much humbled! 🩵💙🩵💙

Food itself was solid. I think their standard menu, enjoyed at a counter would be fine. Major issues, service was absurdly slow, 30 minutes to get water, over 90 minutes for food. Burger was not done to temperature, we ordered one refill of drinks, it never came until requesting twice, & beer was wrong. Delays were not only us but all tables in the section, manager was called out to apologize to adjacent table as they were late for a show. I think they may have just left. This might be tied to an expanded race weekend menu of things I would not want to order at a'diner bar' style restaurant. This may have created some chaos for the kitchen. Minimally I would avoid over any kind of event weekend.
Stylish brunch, with fun showy food. We had stuffed french toast & the chimichurri steak avocado. The steak was spicy & perfectly cooked. The french toast was delicious though a tad sweet & I wish the dark amber taste of the syrup wasnt so overwhelmed by everything else.
The sports were fun to watch on the tvs. A little dissapointed that the super comfy booths were all taken already. You see them on the way in & then once inside you realize you have to sit at a tiny bar table.
The prices were just too high.
I see this comment a lot in restaurant reviews but this time its legitimately true. Almost $100 & we barely ate or drank anything.
Arrived late in Montreal & needed somewhere to eat close to our hotel. Deville was one of the few places open at that time & we were pleasantly surprised with how amazing it was. We expected it to be a greasy spoon but when we walked in the vibe was closer to a modern cocktail bar crossed with an old school dinner. The drinks we amazing & food was exceptional.
I had the filet mignon & ordered it medium but it came well so for that I give 3 stars. The rest of the meal however came out great. & I give 10 stars for the service Jin at the bar was amazing friendly & made the meal all that bette
Deville Dinerbar is one of those places that quietly becomes part of your rotation without forcing it. I've been a few times over the past few months, mostly for drinks & a few appetizers & each visit has been consistently good.
It strikes a nice balance: approachable enough for a casual stop-in, but polished enough that it still feels like you've gone somewhere.
What I Liked:
I haven't done a full meal yet, but what I have had has been impressive.
The lamb chops were fantastic… well cooked, flavorful, & the kind of dish you don't expect to stand out as much as it does. The pulled short rib lettuce tacos were also a highlight… light, well balanced, & easy to keep going back to.
On our most recent visit, we sat at the bar & ordered a bottle of wine. Service was quick & genuinely friendly. There was a natural ease to the interaction, some laughs, no script, no rush… which always makes a difference.
One small knock: two wines we initially tried to order weren't available. That said, the server helped us pivot to something else that was actually less expensive & still enjoyable, so no real harm done.
Atmosphere & Vibe:
The space leans into an upscale American diner concept, but does it tastefully.
It's upbeat without being loud, refined without being stiff. Sitting at the bar, there's a nice energy, people coming & going, food flowing out that genuinely looks great, & a sense that the place knows exactly what it is.
Location is also a big plus. Being close to Peel metro & surrounded by nightlife makes it an easy stop-whether you're starting your night or just passing through.
Closing:
Deville is a great go-to when you want something reliable, a little elevated, & easy.
It's not trying to be the best meal you've ever had, but it doesn't need to be. It delivers consistently, feels good to be in, & leaves you wanting to come back.
I'll definitely be returning for a full meal & will update once I do.
Visiting MTL for the first time & so thrilled that this was our first dinner here. Food was delicious with generous portions, drinks had tons of creative flavors (& were strong), & the bar staff were so friendly. Jayden in particular was super cool to chat with & offered some advice to help us decide if we're moving here :)
