Based on reviews, we were excited to dine at Le Cadet. But - the experience did not live up to expectation at all. Service was neither attentive nor very present. Had to ask a few times to order a second drink. Food was very average - not at all the quality or innovation that was hyped. Calamari dish was drowning in luke warm chili oil & was on the cooler side of room temperature. Beef tartare had the taste & texture of aged beef, though not mentioned as such on the menu, & the service didn't seem to know how it was prepared when we asked. Cod croquettes were ok but a dish that could be found anywhere. Gnocci was ordered without ham (due to allergies) but came served with ham anyway. Broccoli & contre filet were tasty. The spicy sauce that accompanied the foccacia was overpowering for such delicate bread. The menu is served tapas-style, & it was recommended that we order 3 dishes per person. We ordered 2 per person, which was absolutely enough, & in hindsight was probably a few dishes too many. Atmosphere was a bit boring.
We had a superb meal at Cadet. 2 adults & a child had 5 plates plus the focaccia & we were stuffed. I think the steak plate counts as two. Each dish was unique & meticulously prepared. The beans (green beans) was an excellent salad like dish with many flavors & textures. It took me a minute to figure out unwrapping the leeks instead of cutting them & they were a good texture in a nice sauce. Our two favorite dishes were the ratte potatoes (great sauce) & the beets. The server recommended a very nice cocktail for my wife & I hade an excellent glass of wine.

Plats délicieux dans une ambiance décontractée. Les vins recommandés étaient délicieux & se mariaient à merveilles avec les plats. Soyez au minimum 4 puisque vous voudrez goûter à chaque item du menu! Le service était impeccable, attentionné & rapide. Une excellente soirée, nous y retournerons assurément.
Très belle cuisine! Produits frais & de qualité. Le cadre est sobre & feutré, idéal pour une tête à tête. La clientèle est plutôt homogène, l'emplacement impeccable (surtout avant un spectacle à la Place des Arts), & l'accessibilité en transport en commun, imbattable. Une adresse à recommander!
Service impécable, ambience décontracté mais festive (excellente sélection musicale) Nourriture savoureuse & menu créatif. Coups de coeur pour les Gnocchi Ricotta, l'entrée de Burrata & l'accord dessert & vincocktails, le crémeux au citron yuzu est délectable! Highly recommended.
Easily the best dining experience our group had while visiting Montreal. Highly recommend for sharing various plates with a group. We each ordered 2 items & it was plenty of food - each dish was delicious & plated beautifully. The bread pudding was a great way to finish off our meal.
My parents & I stumbled across this place for an early dinner after shopping. Honestly, we were stunned at our experience! The food is magical, each dish had the perfect amount of flavour & creativity. Our server took extremely good care of us, my water glass was literally never empty. I highly recommend this place, if you go early enough, there isn't a line - I do think they take reservations, although we didn't make one. Atmosphere is a perfect mixture of casual & upscale, great place for friends or a date!

Une merveilleuse expérience dans cet établissement qui mériterait d'être Michelin. Le menu change en fonction des saisons & va vous surprendre par sa témérité. Le personnel est plus qu'exemplaire & la salle à manger d'un chic nouveau bourgeois décontracté qui saura vous plaire pour un 5@7, un rencart, ou une sortie épicurienne. Je recommande fortement le brocolis ainsi que la focaccia pour commencer. C'est une formule de type tapas donc des plats à partager ! Il y a une très belle carte des vins & si vous êtes amateurs de cocktails les barmans vont vous renverser ! Pour le stationnement : sur la rue c'est difficile avec la construction de Montréal. Je recommande le stationnement payant en face (25 à 30$) ou le transport en commun (métro Saint Laurent)
Everything was absolutely fantastic. Everyone there was so friendly, & the food tasted absolutely amazing. They have a huge wine list as well. I would highly recommend this place for a nice romantic evening.
Très belle soirée avec au menu: crabe des neiges, pétoncles en entrée. Suivi du tartare de boeuf ensuite les gnocchi & aux desserts : pouding au pain revisité avec glace à la crème sûre & en 2e la Crème citron yuzu, huile d'olive, babeurre & agrumes. Demandez toujours les recommandations des serveuses/serveurs, le menu change souvent & sais surprendre. Découverte : Bière Cadet brassée spécialement par la Microbrasserie À la Fût de St-Tite.

Un accueil chaleureux & très professionnel. Une cuisine recherchée & très fine dans ses saveurs ! Je recommande fortement cette adresse sur Montréal ! Certains plats sont déjà entamés sur les photos, tellement la cuisine était bonne que j'en ai oublié de prendre la photo dès qu'ils m'ont été présentés. L'équipe cuisine fière de nous avoir régalés. Nous reviendrons....
One of the best restaurants I've been to in Montreal! Every dish was delicious, & I really recommend the fennel salad & lemon yuzu ganache. The service was excellent, & the price was surprisingly not too high considering the restaurant's high quality. I definitely hope to come back here again!
10/10 would recommend this restaurant! We had an amazing time at Cadet, the servers were very helpful & friendly, the restaurant was very cozy & the food was incredible, these chefs are clearly very talented & passionate. Definitely will be coming back!

What an amazing restaurant. We are in Montreal for a weekend visit & had the best meal in a very long time at Cadet (our first but not last visit). Plates are smaller for sharing, tapas style. We ordered 5 dishes & 2 desserts for 2 people. Total bill with 2 bottles of sparkling water (no alcohol) came to $160 before tip. Every bite was delicious & prepared to perfection, & the service attentive, friendly & quick. The atmosphere a perfect mix of lively while still being able to hold a conversation. We will definitely come back here & highly recommend Cadet for a great experience. We had the following dishes, which I would all highly recommend: - Lobster & shrimp - Fennel & citrus salad - Scallop ceviche - Gnocchi with pork - Broccoli & spaetzle - Bread pudding - Lemon Yuzu ganache
Avec mon conjoint nous avons découvert ce charmant restaurant un dimanche soir. L'ambiance était très calme & très agréable. Niveau service tout à était très bien présenté & très bien conseillé. Niveau nourriture : nous étions 2 & nous avons pris la focaccia, le choux fleur, la coppa, les brocolis & spatzel, & les gnocchis + la tarte au chocolat que l'on s'est partagé. Donc 5 "plats a partagés" & un dessert & ça nous a bien remplis le ventre, on aurait même pu se passer du dessert (ou d'un plat) donc je recommande de suivre les conseils des serveurs/serveuses quand à la quantité à commander. Tous les plats étaient vraiment savoureux, je recommande ce restaurant
Original & unique plates, every single one was spot clean after we were done. Everything we had was delicious, by order of preference : 1) Brocoli (house specialty, don't miss it but it is quite heavy) 2) scallops 3) beef tartare 4) salmon 5] lamb chops (despite being highly reviewed, we found it to be pretty basic & the least impressive yet still okay) 6) bread pudding (not great, would recommend trying another dessert)
