Wonderful restaurant that is truly French.

The night before, we were celebrating our anniversary, & the manager at another restaurant recommended this place. We were looking for something local, French, & with a good vibe - this totally delivered.

We showed up at 5:30 PM on a Monday, thinking it'd be quiet. Nope. The place was already buzzing, & by 7 PM it was packed. Luckily, they managed to seat us - & we're so glad they did.

Let's talk food: absolutely delicious. Classic French bistro with a little something extra. We had the escargot, Russian eggs, & bone marrow to start - all outstanding. For mains, we went with the duck confit, steak frites, & ravioli. We also order the mash potatoes (really amazing) green beans, & mushrooms. Every bite was fantastic. We were pretty full, but we decided to share a rice pudding on their recommendation. It was awesome!

Don't hesitate - just make a reservation. This place is clearly a local favorite.

The atmosphere is pleasant & the menu offers well-executed French classics at very reasonable prices. We particularly enjoyed the bone marrow, which was a generous & delicious portion. Every dish we tried was flavourful & satisfying, offering excellent value for the quality. It's a lovely place that we would happily recommend

We had a wonderful dinner!
The food was delicious, even though the restaurant was full, the food arrived hot & quickly.
We sat at the bar, the bartender was very professional & polite. (Spoke perfectly French & English).
Super recommend!

I discovered Bouillon Albert a little over two weeks ago, & I've already been twice, which isn't something I usually do. The restaurant is new, but it's run by the same owners who previously operated the tartare steak spot that used to be there. That said, the experience now is completely different! & much improved! The service, in particular, has taken a huge step forward. It's attentive without being overbearing, & the staff seem genuinely proud of what they're offering.

The menu is a little short, yes ... but it's focused. It stays true to the spirit of a traditional bouillon: classic French comfort food, simply prepared, reasonably priced, & made to feel approachable rather than pretentious. Everything I've tasted so far was well cooked, well balanced, & presented with care. You can tell the kitchen is aiming for quality & quantity, & it shows.

What really caught me off guard was the pricing. It's shockingly affordable ! In the best possible way! In today's dining landscape, it's rare to find a place that offers this level of execution at such reasonable prices. That's exactly what a bouillon should be.

Now for the highlights. The rillettes de tours is a standout, light, delicate, & beautifully seasoned. The millefeuille à la verveine honestly blew me away! crisp, airy layers with just the right amount of herbal sweetness. & I know it sounds simple, but the mashed potatoes deserve a mention too, smooth, buttery, & perfectly seasoned. When even the mash is memorable, you know you're in good hands.

I'm really glad this place opened up. It's unpretentious, thoughtful, & delivers far more than the price point would suggest. I'll definitely be going back - probably sooner rather than later.

We walked by on a Monday night & this spot looked great! Snagged a bar counter reservation for an hour later. We ordered beef tartare, duck confit, the small portion of the roasted chicken, & the cheese plate for dessert. Classic French bistro menu & the food was textbook perfect. Wonderful cocktails & wines. Loved the ambiance too. We were surrounded by others on dates, groups of good friends celebrating, & casual business dinners. Everyone was having a good time. The bartender was really friendly & let us try a few different wines they had open too. It was a cool bonus that some were from QC & the cheeses were all from QC. Highly recommend this spot!

This is one of those rare places that just gets it right without trying too hard. The host greets you with genuine warmth, the seating is cozy, & the service strikes that perfect balance, friendly without being intrusive, helpful without upselling.

We started with the oeuf mayonnaise à la Russe, beef tartare, & escargots in parsley butter. classic French starters, each executed nicely. For mains, we had the raie au beurre noir & the Dauphiné ravioli with Comté cheese, both comforting, well-seasoned, & generously portioned.

The wine? A solid Petit Manou Médoc 2020, & it clocked in under $100.

No complaints here. good food, good wine, good vibes. I'll be back.

If you blindfolded me, sat me down at Bouillon Albert, & told me I was in the 11th arrondissement of Paris-I'd believe you.
I've eaten at some of the most iconic bistros across France, & somehow, this spot in Montreal holds its own… no, surpasses many of them.

We tried everything on the menu. Every single dish. Not out of gluttony, but because it felt like a sin to stop. The escargots? Textbook perfect-garlicky, buttery, with just the right bite. The fish soup? Transported me straight to Marseille. The cassoulet? Rich, comforting, layered. Even the rotisserie chicken was so deeply seasoned & tender it felt like it had a story to tell.

The mille-feuille with verbena? I'd fly back to Montreal just for that.
Profiteroles with hot chocolate sauce? Criminally good.

The room feels alive-warm lighting, the open kitchen, the casual elegance. You're not just eating here, you're having a full-on cinematic French dining experience.

This isn't a trendy reimagining of French cuisine-it's the real deal, with love, guts, & soul behind every dish. Bouillon Albert is an instant classic. I'll be dreaming about this place until I return-& trust me, I will.

We tried 10 different menu items plus a bottle of wine which the server recommended: everything was absolutely on point. We ordered without looking at the prices, & we're expecting a punch in the budget: quite the opposite! Finally, an authentic French resto, in every sense. I highly recommend
