Budget-friendly French food & authentic experience!
My French boyfriend & I were looking for budget-friendly authentic French cuisine (as many French restos we looked up are on the higher end) the other day & we crossed upon Bouillon Albert on our walk. We didn't RSVP & had a seat, despite being full house. The waiters were nice & served us the full experience.
We had Beef Tattare. My partner had Duck Confit, & I had the Boudin Noir. Really good! Not too expensive for what you're getting, not too salty, & the duck confit was tender & flavourful. My favourite was their mashed potatoes on the Boudin Noir, it worked well in harmony with the fresh salad. We didn't order the dessert, but if you do come here, do order an entrée, main dish, & dessert for the whole French experience.
I recommend coming here if you want a romantic date night or a sweet hangout entre amis! I do recommend coming here with a RSVP as it does gets packed really quickly. Really loved the service & experience that I might recommend friends to come here for future meets.
Great ambiance, excellent service but unfortunately but we were a bit disappointed by the food. Plates look great but taste a bit bland. (4 starters & 2 main dishes).
We had a pretty bad experience. We were seated right up in the barman's workstation. He was courteous, nothing against him, but it was uncomfortable to sit so close to a barman making drinks for an entire restaurant. Rush, rush, rush, & just so loud. We had 16 inches between ourselves & his workstation. & behind us was the path to & fro the kitchen. So it was hectic & not enjoyable. They shouldn't sit people there.
The food was very acidic. Like almost everything was too acidic. The appetizers were underwhelming. The steak very chewy & hard to cut. The fries were pale & limp. But at least the boudin was good. Overall the food was very meh. But it could have still been enjoyable if they sat us elsewhere because the restaurant does look cute.
As we had made a reservation, I got an email prompting me to leave a review. I let them know our experience in private. No response or acknowledgement. So here we go…on Google maps.
1. Staff was super helpful, patient & friendly
2. The vibe was chill; felt like I was travelling to somewhere else
3. The taste, tenderness of the duck & the drinks were immaculate.
4. I got really sick after (food poisoning) & it was a painful experience. I'm not sure which meal but everything came up later that night if you know what I mean. Nausea, body aches & headaches the next day. This review is not to slander; this was MY experience.
We ordered the steak medium-rare, but it's totally burnt. The surface of the steak was really bitter, & since it wasn't cheap, I'm really disappointed. However, the server was really nice.
J'adore ce restaurant, l'ambiance est charmante le service impeccable & la nourriture excellente à bon prix. MERCI!
Nice place & great service, but the food was below average in my humble opinion. The wine was terrible too. Sorry.
