My family & I had a wonderful experience at Bouillon Albert. The evening started with exceptional cocktails, setting the tone for what turned out to be a fantastic meal.
The wine selection is excellent, with a thoughtful & diverse list that perfectly complemented our dinner. The staff was also very accommodating with our children, customizing their meals to suit their tastes, which was greatly appreciated.
For starters, my wife & I shared the eggs with caviar & the steak tartare - both beautifully prepared & delicious. For our mains, Amélie enjoyed the stingray while I had the trout, & both dishes were outstanding & paired wonderfully with the wines we selected. The kids loved their steak & fries, which looked so good that I was tempted to order it myself.
Beyond the food & drinks, the atmosphere was warm & inviting, with great music & truly attentive service throughout the evening.
A memorable dining experience from start to finish. We look forward to coming back.
We had an absolutely great dinner. If we weren't here for such a short period we would certainly be back to try some more! The food, cocktails & wine were delicious. The staff were easily able to accommodate my gluten free partner. We sat at the bar & our bartender was lovely.
We lucked out had a great table. Host was very welcoming. Starters were os à moelle ,tatare , escargots & lobster bisque. Main hanger steaks & fries one was perfect rare
one was medium well instead of medium , the skate with fries was outstanding.
& blanquette de veau also . Great profiteroles .
Everything was on point good bistro fare although some dishes slightly over salty.
Price was reasonable ambiance lighting & acoustics were surprisingly good for a packed room. Our wines were perfect recommended White mousseux & a cabernet. We will definitely return .
Authentic French food & lived up to its expectations! Service was very kind & friendly. I personally have never been to Paris France before but I have seen these things online overseas, i feel like this restaurant will help you feeling not-left-out if you crave what is on the menu. I had a glass of rosé which wasn't the best glass of wine ever, but nonetheless good.
The beef tartare was on point, very well presented & yummy in flavour. I also recommend the escargot & if you want extra bread & butter, it's no extra cost. The servers will gladly assist you with a second round or so.
The hanger steak frites also hit the nail on the head, cooked to medium. Was well on point. The green sauce for the steak reminded me of the viral video of the Parisian resto where they had the AYCE steak&frites in paris & replicated the same, looking the same. Thanks for making this in Montreal, Bouillon Albert!
The rice pudding for dessert was very very hearty & a bit heavy but was worth a try. My dinner was delicious. I've been to Chez Alexandre in Downtown MTL & I personally find BOUILLON ALBERT to be more affordable & better in quality food
Everything about this place is on point: food, service, vibes, all impeccable.
If you want to try classic French food in an unfussy atmosphere with terrific wine & cocktails, this is your place.
Pictured is the ravioles du dauphiné, which I tried for the first time & was absolutely fantastic.
Food was excellent - thoughtful, flavourful, very well done. The only surprise was the by-the-glass wine choices. When I asked the server for something fresh & crisp, I was offered a Viognier, then a Viognier/Chardonnay blend. Given the strength of the full list, it felt like an odd & very pedestrian direction compared to what I'd expect in Montreal where leaner, more mineral-driven whites are common. It also left me wondering if assumptions were being made about my preferences.
This new French restaurant offers a charming ambiance with dim lighting & an intimate atmosphere even with the hustle & bustle. The service was friendly, prompt, & attentive. The food exceeded my expectations, especially given the more affordable price point. The duck was my favourite dish, cooked to perfection & tenderly coming off the bone. The ravioli came close, with its perfect texture & flavour. The entrees were also delicious & so was the wine. The meal ended on a great note with the pecan rice pudding dessert, which was so rich & addictive. I would however skip on steak frites, which I thought were just ok. Otherwise, totally recommend giving this spot a try!
Great space, friendly service & delicious. Still talking about the escargot. The duck was decent, loved the ravioli.
Wine list was solid!
We walked by on a Monday night & this spot looked great! Snagged a bar counter reservation for an hour later. We ordered beef tartare, duck confit, the small portion of the roasted chicken, & the cheese plate for dessert. Classic French bistro menu & the food was textbook perfect. Wonderful cocktails & wines. Loved the ambiance too. We were surrounded by others on dates, groups of good friends celebrating, & casual business dinners. Everyone was having a good time. The bartender was really friendly & let us try a few different wines they had open too. It was a cool bonus that some were from QC & the cheeses were all from QC. Highly recommend this spot!
