Cantine Cantine
253 Avenue Duluth E, Montreal, H2W 2J4
The team behind Coco Disco Club on Duluth Avenue has been preparing for several weeks for the opening of a new venture. This time, it's a small walk-up counter with window service, a nostalgic spot that pays tribute to Quebec's beloved casse-croûte culture.
Cantine Cantine is now open just in time for the warm weather and the arrival of summer in the city. The menu will feature classic cantine favourites, with hearty and comforting dishes designed to be enjoyed on the go, at a picnic table, in your car, or simply standing in the sunshine.
The twist behind this urban cantine? Alongside hot dogs and poutine guests will also find seasonal products such as oysters, lobster, lobster rolls, crab, fiddleheads, and much more. Deeply inspired by the roots of one of the owners, who grew up in Saint-Fabien-sur-Mer, the project brings a taste of Quebec's Lower St. Lawrence region to the Plateau. You can almost imagine the breeze of the St. Lawrence River with every bite of their shrimp poutine.
This new opening is a heartfelt tribute to Quebec's culinary heritage. Everything can be enjoyed alongside house-made sodas, Quebec wines and ciders, and coffee from their friends at Zab Café.
