The space is beautiful & the vibe is very welcoming. We really enjoyed the food. In fact the escargot was the best I've ever had. The onion soup was also the best I've had as well.
Unfortunately we were ignored largely because of a large table behind us. We are intown for my mother's birthday & planned to drink & eat for a long time. But we had everything we ordered on the table super fast all together & never was asked if we wanted another drink. We could have spent all night in such a great place but we're rushed out in under an hour. It was only a monday night. On a Monday night, a table of 3 should be treated like a table of 8. We sat at the table with no food & no drinks for 15 minutes waiting for a check.
Felt like I was walking into a movie scene, this place is a must visit while in Montreal. The French onion soup is definitely the best I've ever had. & the dessert, pouding chômeur, was incredibly delicious
Visited for dinner on a snowy March evening. Lovely soup & bavette. The carrot cake for dessert was delicious, & huge!
I had a fantastic meal here! I started with the French onion soup, which was absolutely delicious-the cheese was perfectly crispy, & the bread had the ideal crunch. I also tried the Brussels sprout salad with shredded duck. While it was my least favorite dish of the night (mainly because I'm not a huge fan of duck), it was still really good. I do wish it had more Brussels sprouts, but the thick, flavorful bacon was a standout! For my main dish, I had the vol-au-vent, & it was one of the best comfort foods I've ever had. It wasn't too heavy & reminded me of chicken pot pie in phyllo dough-it was absolutely delicious, & I highly recommend it! For drinks, I originally asked for rosé, but they didn't have it. The server recommended Prosecco instead, & I'm so glad they did-it was amazing!
We stumbled here by chance & were impressed with this lovely bistro. I had the best French Onion Soup with real Gruyère cheese & beer broth & al. The Entrecôte Steaks were also wonderful. Great wine selection. We went with Sicilian Option. Finally dessert & Cafe Macchiato was great finale!
Was on holiday in Montréal earlier this month & visited this restaurant three times. The mushroom toast is one of the best things I've tasted!! French onion soup & steak & frites so good too! Service was very friendly. I can't wait to return!!
Great restaurant with lovely ambience & super friendly staff. Beef tartare & onion soup are great - mac'n'cheese was ok & surprisingly spicy
Stopped in for a quick bite to eat, the cocktail were very good, the food was even better! Calamari was perfectly cooked. Best French onion soup we've ever had! The poutine was a great treat, fries were awesome & that gravy was pretty tasty, cheese was on point! I would definitely come back here for all of those! I loved the charming look of this place too, plants galore! Our waiter was marvellous & very attentive.
Welcoming, cozy atmosphere. Friendly & attentive staff. You can tell they enjoy working there. Good wine selection, I enjoyed a Gamay. The soup of the day was a cream squash & was delicious. My entree was steak & frites, & was perfectly made. For dessert I had pudding chomer a maple pudding with cream, one of the best desserts that I have ever had.
I was very happy with this place. I normally complain a lot about restaurants but this one I would return to. I had french onion soup, the mussels & split the lava cake. Drinks included their sparkling water. I wasn't happy with their choice of sparkling water, & found it saltier compared to other brands. No complaints on the french onion soup except that it felt like my soup never cooled down so I was continuously trying to discreetly blow my nose. I ended up stealing other tables napkins after using all the ones at ours. The mussels were good. The shape of the pot they came with was visually stunning but made it difficult for my first 20 mussels to access their both. I would have enjoyed bread to soak up the sauce but realized the couple in front of us asked for bread & the waiter brought some. Next time I'll ask. The lava cake was good. I prefer lava cakes that ooze out when cut in half instead of a cakier dough but the English cream was a nice addition that I will use at home. The decoration was great, music wasn't loud so you could hear your table mates. The lighting was cozy but lit enough to read the menu. & the waiters took extra time to explain the menu even though the restaurant was busy. I didn't feel rushed by them nor bothered too much. Will be returning & excited to see how their menu changes with the seasons.
Months ago my partner & I randomly stopped in for a drink at the bar because we had some time to kill in the area. We were impressed by the decor & the friendliness of the staff so we said we'd come back sometime for a meal.
Yesterday we decided to try having dinner here & we're not disappointed. We ordered the Calimari, Brussel sprout Cesar salad (delicious), French onion soup & Steak. Everything was good, the prices are reasonable & the service was friendly again. We enjoyed the vintage style, live plants & natural light from the big windows.

Great restaurant, our server Tessie was fabulous. Wehad the grilled halloumi (awesome) the black pasta ( yummy) the French onion soup & some tasty drinks. Highly recommend!!
