Vallier is my casual go-to in the neighbourhood. Simple bistro menu that is well-executed. Salmon tartare is consistent, & on a recent Saturday afternoon I experienced an exceptional kir royale courtesy of William, the one-man show i.e. host/barista/bartender/restaurant server. The space is also noteworthy - bright & spacious. Date night, friends meet-up. A bistro for all seasons

Ce que j'ai particulièrement aimé, c'est l'ambiance conviviale & chaleureuse, parfaite pour un brunch, un lunch ou un souper. L'endroit a un charme à la fois moderne & accueillant, avec une carte de cocktails & de vins qui complète super bien le repas. 🍷✨

I highly recommend the atmosphere, service, & cuisine of this Bistro, which, in terms of quality, rivals the most renowned restaurants in Montreal-at a third of the price, though! As a couple, we shared an enormous tomahawk steak of truly high quality, champagne-there's only one, but it's good-& a fantastic dark chocolate dessert! Vallier Bistro deserves at least one visit; for me, it was the second of many (the first time, I had a very respectable tartare for lunch!). Highly recommended-I'm sure after the first time, you'll be back for more, just as I was!
Paris bistro experience without flying across the Atlantic. Even our server was from France. Wish had more time to sample the menu but was under a time rush. Had steak tartare with salad - perfection. The toast points had the right amount of thinness & crunch. The fries could have been crisper. Finally, arrive before the lunch rush, if you don't want to wait.
Stopped in for dinner after a long travel day. Sat at the bar where Tom served me. He was great, conversational & very quick. Had an excellent meal, the spicy beef tartare & the seafood risotto, they were fantastic. Left to continue my track out of town to find my rental car had been broke into. I came back the Vallier Bistro to find a warm spot to file a police report. Upon hearing my predicament Tom & his manager Will were beyond kind & gracious. They allowed me to post up for pushing 2 hours just to try to figure out my situation. They both offered their support helping me file a police report half in French (native & only English speaker here), allowed me to sit past closing so as not to put me out in the cold & just in general were very kind & supportive. Truly above & beyond & then some. Highly, highly recommend for their food & even more so for their service. Thank you both again, & to whomever reads these, please give these men a huge & deserved raise, it's hard to find that quality of service anywhere.
Super bistro de quartier. Ambiance agréable, l'équipe prend bien soin des clients, portion très généreuse, ingrédients de qualité. Toujours un plaisir d'y retourner!
We're a couple of Kiwis who had an early dinner at Vallier Bistro while in Montreal in October. Food was excellent. Cocktails were great. Service was confident & very accomplished, especially for a team that looked quite young. If we're ever in Montreal again, we'll be back.

Nous avons passé une excellente soirée d'équipe au Bistrot Vallier à Montréal !
L'ambiance y est chaleureuse, conviviale & vraiment propice aux échanges. C'est le genre d'endroit où l'on se sent bien pour passer une bonne soirée !
Les plats étaient frais & de qualité : des huîtres savoureuses, une viande parfaitement cuite, des légumes goûteux… Il y en a pour tous les goûts, avec un choix varié tant au niveau des plats que des boissons.
Le service mérite aussi une mention spéciale : chaleureux, attentionné & souriant du début à la fin.
Une belle adresse à découvrir ou redécouvrir, que ce soit pour un repas entre amis, en couple ou en équipe. Nous reviendrons sans hésiter !
L'endroit est vraiment très agréable & les plats sont délicieux ! Mais le vrai point fort, c'est le service : on a eu la chance d'être servis par Tahina, qui a rendu notre moment au Bistrot Vallier mémorable !
Une belle expérience au Vallier Bistro ! La déco est vraiment superbe, le service agréable & tout sur la carte donne envie. Le tartare de saumon & le risotto étaient bons ! Une belle découverte.

Très bon repas entre collègues au Bistro Vallier ce midi ! Dommage qu'ils ne proposent plus de table d'hôte, mais les portions sont généreuses. Le tartare était délicieux & bien assaisonné, accompagné d'une salade fraîche & croquante. Les frites, servies à part, étaient bien croustillantes. Le gâteau aux carottes était excellent, même si la portion était un peu trop grosse ! Service rapide & efficace, parfait pour un lunch. On a eu un peu froid, mais l'ambiance restait agréable. Une bonne adresse pour bien manger !
We stumbled here by chance & were impressed with this lovely bistro. I had the best French Onion Soup with real Gruyère cheese & beer broth & al. The Entrecôte Steaks were also wonderful. Great wine selection. We went with Sicilian Option. Finally dessert & Cafe Macchiato was great finale!
We visited Vallier Bistro as part of the MTL à Table event, & it was a memorable experience. While the service was a bit slow, the overall experience more than made up for it. The Toblerone martini was the highlight of the evening-it's absolutely divine, almost addictive, like a dessert & a cocktail rolled into one. The food was equally impressive, especially the oysters, which were fresh & perfectly prepared. Every bite & sip felt indulgent. The beef tartare was also divine. The location is ideal, & the ambiance inside is classy & elegant, making it a perfect spot for a special occasion or an upscale evening out. Despite the slow service, I'd return in a heartbeat for the drinks, food, & atmosphere.

Un bistrot très sympa Nous avons pris notre dernier dîner à Montréal Une cuisine de qualité Nous avons été accueilli & servi par Greg qui a été aux petits soins pour nous Nous recommandons !!
D'excellents plats, pour ma part particulièrement l'entrée de calmars, servi par un personnel accueillant & attentionné dans une ambiance chaleureuse, un bistro que je recommande sans hésitation!
Sûrement le meilleur bistrot de Montréal. Une décoration exotique, des mets d'une merveilleuse qualité ! Un service de grande compétence ! Merci pour ce superbe moment !
Un lieu parfait pour manger avec des amis & la famille. Le personnel est très accueillant & l'ambiance est chaleureuse! Expérience culinaire impeccable, le mac&cheese était trop bon. Je recommande vivement ce bistro! J'y retournerai sûrement.
