Review Summary

Reviews describe Tsukuyomi Ramen as a cozy, bustling spot where the broth can be rich and milky, the noodles well cooked, and the miso ramen a standout; many praise the variety of entrées, the generous portions for the price, and friendly service, with several calling it among the best ramen in Montreal. Still, several criticisms emerge: broth sometimes not hot enough, chashu dry, egg overcooked, and some bowls tasting bland or lacking depth, while a few visits also noted slower or less attentive service. Ambiance is described as intimate and casual, though noise levels and drafts from the door can be bothersome for some, and cleanliness concerns are mentioned in a minority of reviews. There is also praise for vegan ramen and crispy items such as karaage, and reviewers note strong praise for the miso or other broths. Overall sentiment is mixed but often positive, with many saying Tsukuyomi Ramen is worth a visit while others describe varying quality and a few sporadic issues.

As others have said, this place used to be good.

I went yesterday & was really disappointed. The tonkotsu ramen with chasu (pork) was very bland, I had to put a bunch of hot sauce in it to give it flavour. The piece of pork was small & dry. The noodles were below average. The ramen bowls are small compared to other places. But really the worst part is it gave me food poisoning! An hour or so after I got home (& didn't eat anything else) I suddenly had diarrhea, nausea & exhaustion. A few hours later I felt better & today I feel fine so I know that it was not a flu but indeed something I ate here.

The reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 is that the service was okay (it was quick, although not overly friendly & it felt a bit rushed) & the Karaage & yuzu beer were decent. The decor is also cute.

I won't be coming back unfortunately. Has the chef or management changed or something? Because I see I'm not the only one who's been disappointed (or ill from their food!) as of late :(

The tonkotsu ramen wasn't salty enough for me at first, but once I added the sauce provided by the server it was great. The noodle is thin which I love, & the chasu was pretty tasty too. I went to the one in bishop & decided to give another try & didn't get disappointed. Still one of the best ramen in the town.

My go to for ramen. Broth is MGS free & the Tonkotsu one is the best. The wood counter makes it feel like an Izakaya in Japan. Staff are always friendly & one bowl or ramen will fill you up for sure

This cosy ramen house was a perfect choice on a cold, rainy night. We all had the Tonkotsu Ramen, with a creamy pork bone broth. Each of the three of us had a different protein (chicken, pork & tofu respectively). The broth was delicious, the noodles perfectly chewy. Topped with a side of fried gyoza & a pint of Yuzu beer. Perfection! Highly recommend.

Long time customer, since their opening. Over the years, there has been many many changes, some good, some disappointing. The very first iteration of the cold ramen (the one with the noodles in an ice bowl & the most delicious dipping sauce ever) was fantastic. The tonkotsu always has been good but sometimes the egg is freezing cold, sometimes the chashu is a very small slice sometimes very generous & thick. Overall, it always was my to-go place. But recently, I am absolutely sure they changed the noodles, which is like the most important part of a ramen bowl. They used to taste fresh & natural. Now, they have that dry & starchy mouthfeel, like the commercial processed noodles we get in instant noodles. They no longer feel bouncy & chewy at all. Just undercooked dehydrated store-bought noodles. They say they didn't change it but the staff there is always new, so they have no clue of the precedent menus over the years. Anyway, broth is still good but the noodles are not worth it anymore. Will now get my ramen fix at Nakamichi

Le meilleur ramen à Montréal!!
Le Tonkotsu est moins épais & gras que celui de Yokato, j'ai de loin préféré celui-là.

Le service est impeccable, l'ambiance est conviviale.

Je recommande!
