Bar is limited, but what is available is pretty good. Service was friendly & efficient. The piano player added a nice feel to the already intimate setting.
This is probably one of the best little gems in Montreal. Located in the old port of the city, it doesn't disappoint. Run by a nice family. Every-time I come here, I feel like I am eating a home cook meal. Feels like home, great atmosphere & always amazing food. The live piano player adds the cherry on top. I highly recommend this place.
My wife & I came here on Friday night with a last minute reso. They were great with calling me back after I left a message. All the food was excellent. I got the veal schnitzel & my wife got the taster plate with a couple of a bunch of things. We also shared the beet consumé & the pickled herring which was my favourite of the night! The live piano was a great touch & lots of fun. Really great night!
Lovely busy place. Food was reasonably priced & plentiful. The schabowy was absolutely perfect. Golabki had too much marjoram, but were very good. Great apple crumble. Service was great & the live piano was just lovely. Note to other clients that comment on how great the piano man was - give the man a tip! He deserves it!
Everything was absolutely delicious. My friend & I split the beef stroganoff & pork schnitzel... I ate every crumb on the plate. The atmosphere is unbeatable. I love the piano player. Couldn't recommend this place highly enough!
What a great little find! The atmosphere was so cozy; live piano the entire time. The staff was friendly & efficient. But best of all, the food was fantastic! I really enjoyed their tasting platter as well as the beef stroganov. I also really loved their pierogi with beef! I absolutely loved my experience & will recommend to anyone who is looking to try Eastern European food!
We lucked out & we're able to get a table. They were very accommodating & the piano player at front was fun to talk to definitely added to the warm vibe. Food was delicious & worth it
I teared up in here last night because I haven't had such authentic & delicious Polish food since I was a teenager. The servers are family & shared with us, the atmosphere was just perfect. It was full, the piano was playing, but we could still hear one another & even made friends at the next table. It was the perfect end to a wonderful day & I'll never forget this place!
Wow wow wow. As someone from Kraków who cooks a lot of polish meals at home, I can definitely say this restaurant is extremely authentic. We were blown away by the quality & spot on authenticity of it. We ordered the zupa ogórkowa (pickle soup), barszcz (beet soup), krokiety (mushroom croquettes), pierogi ruskie (potato pierogis) & the szarlotka (Apple crumble pie). While everything was delicious & traditionally presented, the pierogi & szarlotka were our favorites. The pierogis were plump with great potato quality & not heavy on dough. You can def tell they were handmade. Every bite the potatoes melted in your mouth & you can taste the butter & onions. So good! Now the szarlotka. We never order dessert but based on how authentic everything else was, I could not resist trying this traditional apple dessert. Let me tell you, not only did it not disappoint but very much exceeded our expectations. It was served perfectly chilled, & you can taste both the sweet & tartness of the apple. & the fresh cream on top was so insanely delicious. We practically licked the plate. & don't skip on the cocktails! We also had the szarlotka cocktail which was served with Zubrowka vodka (our fave), apple juice & a splash of lemon. Served with a little bit of cinnamon & sugar on the rim. Wow oh wow. Refreshing & complex, what an amazing cocktail. Will def be trying to recreate at home but if not, just another excuse to visit this restaurant. Definitely don't skip this spot. If you want to try authentic polish food, this is the place! Enjoy it with the live piano player who is there most week night. Na zdrowie!
Food is fine. Staff is friendly. Have live piano music playing while you eat. Decent little restaurant downtown Montreal. Like it's pancake dessert.
Everything was perfect! Table d'hote was so good & so filling. Lots of polish people there so truly it must he good. Live piano music in the evenings just adds the cherry on top.
Walked in right before closing & they took us in. Everything we ordered was DELICIOUS. Get the herring dish called sledz you won't regret it. The live piano music, cozy decor, & wonderful service just made the entire dinner perfect. I'll recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Montreal.
Great Polish food, friendly service & live piano music. Competitive prices as well.
Beat polish restaurant in montreal. Live piano during the night great food & a great atmosphere. Staff are great also. Will definitely be coming back. The pierogis were as good as my grandma's
It was super good & the service was nice & the piano music too! My ONLY complaint is that there was an over head lamp right over the spot I was sitting & the intensity of the light was really uncomfortable when the rest of the restaurant was pretty dimly lit & I couldn't move the bench away from the light but if I hadn't been at that spot it would have probably been perfect
Our favorite Polish restaurant on either side of the border. We discovered this delicious place on an anniversary trip in 2016 to see Patrick Watson in concert. Have been talking about Stash Cafe food since. Finally returned this weekend for my birthday dinner. Love, love, love the food & atmosphere. I highly recommend anything on the menu, but especially the mushroom pierogi. We also enjoyed the live piano music in the background.
Really good restaurant! Authentic Polish cuisine accompanied by fantastic service. Really enjoyed the live piano music on Sunday night.
Great dinner with live piano. Polish food was solid. We had the schnitzel & sole for mains. Ambiance was busy but not crowded. Good value.
I really liked the romantic & intimate vibe of this place. We visited it when there was a live piano music. Unfortunately can't say it was the best service or the best food. We didn't had a reservation & waiters tried to harry us up all the time. & food came cold & was a bit disappointed with golubci ( spring rolls) & borscht. But probably would like to go back one day because pierogi which my friend ordered was not bad at all & choice in menu is decent
