Lovebird
101 Rue de la Capitale, Montreal, H2Y 1Y8
A breath of fresh energy is sweeping through the stone vaults of the Hôtel Nelligan with the official opening of Lovebird, an intimate cocktail bar that brings together live music and the art of hospitality.
Imagined by Corner Collection and designed by Atelier Zébulon Perron, this new speakeasy takes the form of a true music salon, where a moody atmosphere invites guests to slow down and surrender to the rhythm of the music. Dim lighting, warm textures, and an enveloping acoustic setting create a space designed as much for conversation as for listening.
The opening, held last night, set the tone: an evening punctuated by live performances, including a surprise appearance by Caroline Vreeland, accompanied by her pianist Zach Frampton. The stage then came alive with Cuban saxophonist Giovany Arteaga and pianist Rafael Zaldivar, reinforcing the central role of music in the Lovebird experience.
At the bar, the philosophy is clear: precise, elegant cocktails that prioritize taste over theatrics. Seasonal ingredients, refined presentation, and careful execution shape each drink into a thoughtful, sensory experience.
With Lovebird, Montréal welcomes a new destination where cocktails and music engage in a refined dialogue, within an atmosphere that is both intimate and immersive, an enticing addition to Old Montréal's nightlife scene, now open to the public.
