Wow just tried this ramen & I have to say it's one of my favourite in the city. I had gold kome deluxe & it was so flavourful & so yummy. This place is definitely a hidden gem but once you are inside the warm & cozy vibe is just amazing. The waitress was so friendly & helpful & it's seems like the staff there is like family. Will definitely be back!! Highly recommend
We were looking for a comfort meal & we found exactly what we were looking for! We got served so quickly, fresh & amazing food made by Ali, he's truly amazing. Our waitress Luna was so nice, taking care of every details for us!! Will definitely be back, friendly & hardworking staff! 100% recommend
the ramen itself was very yummy & delicious! i would recommend if you were to visit this place to not be in a rush. it seemed a bit understaffed & it took about 40 min from when we placed our order to receive our food, & a couple who came in after us got their ramen before us?? there also just seemed to be a lot of unbussed tables with dirty dishes when we arrived & throughout our meal. the actual food was good once it arrived but i think maybe the issues we experienced/noticed was due to understaffing. would return just with understanding to need more time for the meal.
Ramen Misoya is a cozy basement spot that delivers flavorful ramen at a more affordable price point than many others in the city. Portions are generous, especially the amount of chashu you get for the price.
Here's what I tried:
* Shiro Chashu Ramen - 9/10 Flavorful broth, nicely charred chashu, & a good variety of toppings.
* Gold Miso Ramen - 7.5/10 Rich & hearty broth, though some toppings were unexpected (like a fried potato wedge).
* Takoyaki - 8.5/10 Tasty, a good choice while waiting.
The staff is friendly, & the open kitchen adds a nice touch. The place is warm & inviting, but since it's located in a basement, it might be a little tricky to spot. It can get busy during lunch, & service can be a bit slow but the food is worth the wait.
I ordered two ramen combos from this restaurant through Uber Eats, but only received one when the delivery arrived. I called the restaurant immediately, & the staff told me to place another order for one ramen combo & said they would contact their boss to send me an e-transfer refund. I followed their instructions, but I never received the money.
The next day, I called again to follow up. A different staff member answered, told me she would speak with the boss, & never got back to me. On the third day, I called once more & was hung up on right after I explained the situation. After that, I haven't been able to reach the restaurant at all-my calls won't go through anymore, & it feels like my number has been blocked.
This is unacceptable customer service & a very disappointing experience. I would not recommend ordering from this place.
Update: After posting this review, the restaurant reached out to me with an apology & an explanation. It turns out the refund via e-transfer was sent to the wrong email address due to a typo on their end. They acknowledged the mistake, took responsibility, & also addressed the poor communication & unprofessional phone response I experienced. They offered a 50% off coupon as a gesture of goodwill, which I appreciate.
While I still believe the situation could have been handled better from the start - especially with clearer communication & follow-up - I do appreciate their effort to make things right after the fact. I've decided to keep the original review up for transparency, but I also want to acknowledge that the restaurant did take ownership & apologized sincerely.
good ramen for good price. Third time coming here. Definitely recommend getting the ramen with a couple toppings like egg, pork or whatever to make it more interesting (base flavour gets boring after a while) silver shiro spicy
