Absolutely phenomenal. We had the deluxe ramen bowls, gold & silver versions for variety. My wife enjoyed hers & I enjoyed mine - very happy with the delicious food & prompt service.
We will definitely have to come back next time we are in Montreal!
So disappointed in my experience today. I've been coming to this place for years but started coming less because the food was less qualitative than it used to be. I decided to give it another chance today.
It took more than 1 hour for me to get my bowl of ramen. In the past, I've never waited more than 20 minutes, even when the place was full. I ordered extra fries (4pcs) with my bowl. After more than an hour, the server brought the bowl with 2 pcs & says they will bring the rest soon, which then arrived at the end of my bowl. How is it so difficult to fry 4 fries? Tofu was also missing on my bowl but the wait was so long that i didn't want to ask & wait more. The ramen was good, broth was flavorful but not spicy for tantanmen. Not good enough for such a long wait tho.
The server was very kind, was tryng her best & i could see that she was embarassed of the situation.
Sadly, i think it was my last time there!
This place has good review & their ramen do taste good. However, I couldn't stop doubting if it's been overrated because I waited for 40 minutes to get a normal bowl of ramen when it's not at their peak busy hour & there's only 3 other tables in the shop (1 already got served). I think everything will taste good after you sit & wait for half hour while starving.
The server did explain because there's only one chef in the kitchen. In fact, there's only one server & one chef during a weekend lunch time. I couldn't imagine how work they would experience on that day! So I think employer should definitely hire more people to help, otherwise, I doubt the quality of the food can be consistent.
Regardless of bring about 40 minutes before closing, the wait wasn't bad, & ramen was spectacular. Genuinely the best bowl I've had in a while. Another review said they'd be dreaming about that bowl & I agree. Affordable & filling, we're coming back for sure,& bringing friends
They really stuff their bowls but the broth was ok. It's a nice intimate setting.
My friend & I were suppose to go to the Malatang right above this place but it was closed. Was a little disappointed. I don't know about my friend but my bowl was lukewarm & the chicken was okay but too pricy for the small potion (I ordered the larger size). Overall it was Soso.
Tasty broth & good texture of the noodles, but the cha-siu slice is thin & small, the egg was not perfect, & the price for these extra aren't worth it. Maybe best for vegetarian dishes. Took a while to receive the bowl as well, perhaps understaff.
Best ramen place I've been so far in mtl! Tried the recommended deluxe bowl & damn it was good. They were also streaming monster on the tv.
It was... pretty standard. I was honestly disappointed by the food... it was very... standard. Don't take my word for granted, though. It may be because I like strong flavors, but still, it tasted very bland for me. At the very least, I did not enjoy it that much, but it was definitely not disgusting. For the price, it's decent. It definitely is budget friendly compared to most Ramen places nowadays. My friend, however, seems to enjoy it (as you can see, there are 2 different bowls). I ordered a Miso basic, & I think my friend ordered something from the Golden section of the menu. The selection was alright but lacking in every meal item... which made me hesitate on what to get, & so I decided to stick to something that people suggested. The service was sad even though the restaurant was not busy... I felt like the waiter was rushing to get it over with. I don't want to question his mood nor attitude since it was my first time there, & it could be one of those bad days, but it really might just be a 1 time problem!!! The place is in a secluded spot, but the inside gives you a "private place" sort of feeling. It's a nice spot to have a calm & peaceful meal. Anyways, it's good for a budget friendly meal, but I don't want to come back here regardless...
This place is a very unexpected surprise... Located in such an unassuming spot, with not much of an attractive ambience. The first impression when I entered this place wasn't so welcoming as it didjt have a good smell. Me being so sensitive to smells, a gud smell always impress me more. The place was small with limited seating but surprisingly getting filled back to back... So, naturally I decided to try out the food...
Very sweet server & he helped us to decide on what to choose... Ramen quantity was biggg & tasted great too... Gyoza didnt impress much but not bad... Couldn't finish the whole bowl, so had to pack off... Do try their gold ramen which is more flavourful...
