It's a theatrical omakase place & obviously there is some theatrics involved. However that also brings the possibility of having rowdy patrons & that was a deal breaker for us. Food wise there are scopes for improvements, especially at this price point. But there are not many places in Montreal to offer an authentic omakase experience.

Unique experience in Montreal. Yeah it is on the pricey end, but this is not the place where you would go on the regular basis, worth to visit at least once. Especially if you've never had an omakase experience.

Sushi Okeya Kyujiro was an incredible experience. The moment we stepped in, it was as if we were in Japan. The staff were amazing throughout the entire evening. I felt well taken care of. They had extensive knowledge about the omakase chefs & the dishes they served. The food I was served that evening was out of this world. Every bite was created with such care, & I found myself feeling so grateful to be able to experience so many different foods & textures after every service. It was so good that I felt like I could no longer eat box sushi anymore. Overall, I will 100% visit again. I'm excited about the next experience they have in store.

I am sorry but I have to say that I am not impressed with the food quality here. I am a food critic & vlogger & have been to many Japanese Omakase places in Hong Kong, Japan, Toronto & Vancouver. At this price point, Okeya's food presentation, culinary skills & quality are just not comparable to other 1 Star Omakase places in Canada. It is not even as good as some Omakase dinner in Toronto at $98/person. Sushi rice's taste & texture are very ordinary, sometimes it will fall apart when you pick up by hand, taste does not enhance the piece of fish on top neither. Fish quality is again very, very ordinary, lack of culinary treatments such as adding house made sauce, smoked, aged, tenderized which you get from other starred places. Also sushi size is the smallest I have ever had. One pc of sushi was added yuzu juice but I cannot taste the aromatic yuzu fragrance at all, not a fresh yuzu? I do not understand why this place gets such high ratings? Maybe the high rating is given to the waitresses wearing pretty Kimonos serving green tea... & the theater setup with curtains go up & down... alcohol selection is limited, they don't have a drink menu to view their selection & price. Service & atmosphere were great. At this price, Montrealers definitely deserve much better Omakase experience. I would say this place is overpriced. Vancouver's 1 Star Masayoshi is 100 times better but only $220 for dinner. Toronto's 1 Star Aburi Hana price is similar over $300 for dinner but again, 100 times better. & I totally agree to all other 1,2 & 3 stars ratings here in google review.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Okeya Kyujiro, & it was an unforgettable experience that truly deserves a five-star review. From the moment we walked in, the exceptional service set the tone for the evening. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, & genuinely passionate about providing a top-tier dining experience. The omakase experience at Okeya Kyujiro is nothing short of theatrical. Each course was presented with a flourish, transforming the meal into a captivating performance. The chef's skill & artistry were evident in every dish, with each bite delivering an explosion of flavors that were simply out of this world. The attention to detail was remarkable, from the impeccably fresh ingredients to the exquisite presentation of each course. The pacing of the meal was perfect, allowing us to savor & appreciate each dish fully. It's clear that Okeya Kyujiro takes great pride in both their culinary creations & their guest experience. Overall, Okeya Kyujiro provided a dining experience that was both memorable & extraordinary. The combination of exceptional service, stunning food, & a theatrical presentation makes this restaurant a must-visit for any sushi enthusiast. I can't wait to return & experience it all over again.

This is a once in a lifetime experience. Everything, & I do mean every single thing, was excellent from start to finish. The theatrical aspect of this omakase experience is definitely what makes it unique, as well as all the fresh international ingredients (including some very cool fish)!! We came here for a birthday & the little piano was the cherry on top! Merci & Arigato chef.

hi. I really like this place. The food was good until the 4th time in the evening omakase. This was the best Japanese food I had in Canada. I didn't enjoy going to a more expensive Japanese restaurant in Toronto. The chefs here are professional. Watch how many times he touches the rice of the sushi. I lived in Japan, but it's okay here in Canada too. Of course, there are many better places in Korea. But servers in Japan & Korea are crazy friendly. I will definitely visit here again. The tip was over 1000 CAD, but it was well worth it. Actually, I applaud the chef, but I'd like to pay the servers more.

From the moment I stepped into Sushi Okeya Kyujiro, I knew I was in for an unparalleled dining experience. This isn't just a restaurant; it's a symphony of Japanese culinary excellence, seamlessly interwoven with the enchantment of theater & the authenticity of traditional culture. The culinary journey here goes beyond mere eating. Each dish is a testament to top-quality ingredients, masterfully prepared with a meticulous attention to detail. The Omakase Kaiseki, for instance, is not just food on a plate; it's a narrative of flavors, each telling a story of Japanese culinary heritage. But what sets Sushi Okeya Kyujiro apart is its immersive theatrical choreography, which transforms dining into a profoundly emotional experience. The ambiance is thoughtfully curated - dim lighting, traditional attire, & a sense of ceremonious unveiling of dishes combine to create an atmosphere that is both mystical & intimate. I have visited countless establishments, even in Osaka, Kyoto & Tokyo, but Sushi Okeya Kyujiro stands out as a beacon of culinary innovation & cultural fusion. It is more than sublime food; it's an emotional journey that disarms & delights in equal measure. This place is a rare gem where food, theater, & culture meld in perfect harmony, offering a dining experience that is both epic & intimately personal. To reveal more would be to spoil the myriad of surprises that await within its doors. Suffice it to say, Sushi Okeya Kyujiro is not just the best restaurant I've ever visited; it's a journey through the heart of Japanese artistry that leaves you yearning for more.
