I do not like it at all noodle came smelling really bad & the meat not cooked all of it is stale
Probably the best noodles place in Montreal & they do that while also keeping their prices extremely fair! The noodles are freshly made on the spot. If you go during peak time there is going to be quite a line to get in, restaurant is not big & is a hot spot. Go at the opening time & you will be fine. My favourite was the DanDan noodles, give it a try!
Great! Ordered the Special Nouilles & a small bowl was definitely enough. I don't think you could go wrong with anything on the menu. (Picture is the medium size)
Le service est super rapide, malgré l'achalandage. Le temps d'attente vaut la peine, c'était excellent 😍
Great service & soup/noodles excellent. Note that there is often a line outside to enter.
We only tried this because we saw a long line on our way to somewhere else around 9 11AM. We came here for dinner & had to wait around 30 minutes to get seated - it was around 4:30ish but the line was still so long. I ordered the beef soup with the #2 type of noodle, spicy, medium size - it was a HUGE serving so if you have a small appetite I would recommend a small or you can divide the medium with someone else who has a small appetite. Go for large if you're with two other people. It wasn't as spicy as I thought it would be. I love the soup & the I absolutely LOVED the beef. The service was fast as well. Come here when you're willing to wait. It's worth it. What I didn't appreciate though is when we had to pay, the woman was looking at us while we're doing the payment process - would be nice if we got a little privacy as it is sensitive information.
We went on a Thursday around 6-6.30pm - there were already a couple of people before us & the line got even longer after we joined, but the wait wasn't too bad. The smell just standing outside was just delicious. You could see them making hand pulled noodles in the window. I got the spécial nouilles de boeuf Lanzhou with Kuan noodles (the second thickest noodle size - you can choose your noodle size), potato seaweed salad, & a tea egg. Everything came quickly & was really good! Service is efficient & no nonsense. There's also a supermarket inside on the floor below, which was something I'd never seen before & found really cool.
Pedimos Dan dan noodles de tamano grande para compartir entre dos personas y una entrada pequena de encurtido. Soy débil con el picante pero vale la pena probar, es picante y sabroso. El espacio es reducido pero está bien.
Service is poor & the waiters are very busy, but I appreciated the portion size of my beef noodle soup as well as the noodle texture.
I went to try their food with my boyfriend & my sister. By the time we got home, all of us felt awfully sick. We ordered the beef noodles, dan dan noodles, & the braised beef noodles, with edamame & the spicy marinated beef. The food was very oily & the beef was unpleasantly chewy. Also the marinated beef was too salty. The braised beef noodle soup had these big chunks of beef/fat that were hard to eat & most of it was just fat. We all ended up having headaches & felt very sick. I think some of the ingredients were not fresh. Also, the waitress stared at the machine when I wanted to pay, as if I was being forced to tip. Very unprofessional.
Dan Dan noodle is the best here. I tried the broth options but nothing came close to the Dan Dan noodles. The food is always fresh & delicious. They increased their seating capacity in recent years, but there is still a big waiting line when you are at the peak hours. Recommended to go there early or during odd hours if you are a big group. Perfect for groups of 2 or 4 whenever. They have a lot of sizes for their noodles & they make it on the spot. Service is average, they seat you, take your order & that's pretty much it, it'll be hard getting water refills if you don't catch their attention. The ambiance is nice but quite loud when there are a lot of people. You also have to get up & go pay at the machine, some people don't know that & wait at their table lol. Overall I recommend giving the Dan Dan noodle a try at least once if you're in Montreal, I'd give more than 5 stars for food if I could, which is why I'm giving it an overall review of 5.
This is my go to place in china town, always good & fresh. No line if you're there before 16h-17h & takeout is super quick. they have upped the price since ive been going there but i find it's still worth it with the portions you receive. If you're dining in it's very cramped but it's not necessarily a restaurant you're meant to stay in longer than needed.
Tried the traditional beef noodles & was highly disappointed. The broth was salty yet lacked any depth of flavor. I felt like I was eating those 99 cents cup noodles that you pour hot water onto, with an overload of salt.
Not sure what all the hype is about. My medium vegetable noodle bowl was bland & lacking in flavor. Also, a minimal amount of veggies(broccoli, corn, one piece of micro sliced carrot & 2 mushrooms) didn't make it any better! The hard boiled egg was tasty. Interestingly, when I asked for soy sauce I was told it wasn't available & was only offered to use the salt shaker sitting on the counter. The edamame salad was extremely salty. Not sure if I'd ever recommend as I've had much better soups & noodle combinations in many other places. Very tight dining with an interesting Chinese grocery in the lower level.
The BEST lan zhou noodle in Montreal! the portion is huge, the noodle are amazing, the broth is delicious, nothing bad I can say for this place honestly. Probably only the long line to take to go inside. But it was definitely worth.
Good price & their portions have a good size also. Went more then once & the food was always good.
