Weird but I am sure I posted a review but for some reason I do not see it! Since this place ambiance, staff & friendly not over the top but with a very nice welcoming feeling. All the staff were very helpful & help us make so smart choices for food & wine! Worth every penny spent. Should of tried sooner! Must go. Even if you are a steak lover you will find something that surely will please your tastebuds.
The restaurant was only 1/4 full when we (2 couples) entered at 7:00 pm & we were surprised for a quiet Friday night. We ordered drinks which took a while for a quiet restaurant to arrive. We ordered oysters & the presentation was excellent with 3 sauces & freshly grated horseradish. The wine also took long (a 2017 Oregon Renaissance @$225) & the cold bottle sat on the table for more than 10 minutes waiting to be decanted. Both couples returned their overcooked steaks & we ate our fries ($14) & Monte Carlo potato ($14) while we waited 15 for new plates. Moishe's comped a fried onion plate which arrived before the steaks. Service was slow & awkward at best. Restaurant filled up & the tables were so close together that it was very noisy for a high-end steakhouse. Big prices, no Chopped Liver, no Varenikas, no Latkes, none of the old Moishe's dishes that made Moishe's what it was. Overall very disappointing.... Best value? The $23 Valet Parking was excellent!!
We had a great dinner at moishes , we were regulars at the older one on St Laurent so we could compare. we had a friend from out of town staying at the W so we decided to give it a try & we were very happy we did. The greeting by the hostess who was all smile was fantastic. Florence our server was great at her job & knew her wines on the list & made great suggestions. the food is amazing & very tasty. we will come back without hesitation.
As we 1st stepped in we were greeted by happy friendly hosts, assuring us that our request will be granted. (my seating preference) Once seated we then were welcomed by our server, Hugo. While looking through the large wine selection, the Someilier walk up to offer help, he graciousely recommended what our price piont was & preference. Next we we offered an in kitchen visit.(they thought I had requested) We kindly declined. They were attentive to my online request, although it must of been misread. We are then served our wine, a basket of bread, coleslaw & Moishes pickles Mmm I love pickles. Then our meal. We chose to share the "for 2 pp". It was cooked perfectly. We chose a side of fries, but could not finish it...too much food for us. Great dining experince, exquisite food & professional classy service.I strongly recommend.
Excellent service, thank you Jane & the family & birthday man (my dad) were SO HAPPY. Everything was great thank you, delicious & lovely wine selection!

An amazing evening to ring in the new year. Thanks to David S for accommodating our party of 20. Maria & her crew made sure to deliver an incomparable service as Sylvia, our appointed Somm ,made sure to pair the wines with our feast!
Terrible service , our waiter took the order of a table after us & brought their appetizer & food before ours. I didn't like one of my apps & told him but he didn't care, my steak was missing the lobster tail & had to ask him for it, he disappeared for a long time & we had to ask the table cleaner twice to go get him for the bill. Terrible service.
My wife's steak was not cooked to her specifications but it was fine & the Pino noir wine was flat, seemed like the bottle was left open for a long time.
Moishes has lost the legacy of the last. Although the food is very good, it wasn't spectacular. A good steak you can cook at home. The experience however was disgusting. The service was terrible. Not sharp. The sommelier was drunk. The cutlery was thrown on the table rather than placed. Wine service was slow. Every bottle opened was not tasted prior except for 2 on the 7 we had. & the crowd was disgusting. I think the crowd thought it was the old Houston restaurant. The crowd was classless & tasteless. For that type of money to spend on steak & fries, I suggest you stay home or go to rib & reef or club chasse & pêche. Thank you
nice room. good balance between feeling lively without feeling busy. welcoming environment. the service was excellent. Annie's style is very professional, in that way of making something that is actually quite difficult seem quite effortless. superb martini (my wife's compliments to the bartender). your sommelier made the wine selection interesting & accessible (knowledgeable without the know-it-all). food was uniformly excellent, though the steaks (two NY & a filet) were maybe 9 out of 10 (Hy's has you beat there). the entrées & the sides were all excellent. The fried onions? amazing. (even good enough that I might get over missing Hy's cheese toast). a high-end steak house meal is a long-standing birthday tradition for us, & since moving to Montréal we've been looking for a worthy successor; I believe that we have found it. David, it was great to make your acquaintance. please extend our thanks to your team for a wonderful evening.

Excellent food
Very disappointing level of service for a restaurant of this calibre & reputation. The servers were polite although lacked finesse. Orders took long, no knowledge of the menu, dishes long to pick up, had to pour our own wine, mistakes on the bills, etc.
First visit since they reopened. Amazing experience. The sommelier Tom was able to read us & suggested another bottle of wine which was less expensive & delicious. Our server Kia was professional & engaging. Look forward to returning.

We are 3&4 generations of Moishes diners. Eating at Moishes was a culture & a tradition. You arrived & gave your car at the lot (no charge) & marvelled at how when you returned your car was waiting for you!! When you arrived you were greeted by name which set the tone for special experience. (David fulfilled this for me!)The dining room was bright, intimate & elegant with white tablecloths. All of this was missing at the new Moishes. Although the food was very well prepared the service was unprofessional. No one came to our table to replenish wine or to check on our needs until we were almost finished our meal. It was sad to see some items which were traditional & unique to Moishes to have been eliminated.
To sum it up, the experience was like eating at a step up of a Cage au Sport with an upscale menu. I would think twice before returning & to have to pay 23$ plus tip to park my car when I can valet it at other restaurants in the area with only tipping the jockey.
We had a great evening! Our waiter "Vatche" was ON POINT with everything. We were a party of 14 & the service was excellent as everyone got served at the same time & the meat was amazing. Thomas the Sommelier recommended awesome wine to accompany our meal. Overall rating "11/10" !!! Can't wait to go back.
Exceptional lunch at the new location. Decor is sophisticated & uncrowded, service was seamless & attentive. Octopus course was divine, the ribeye & filet mignon perfection. Impressive selection of wine by the glass. I will make this a regular stop, a true pleasure.
Did not disappoint from the wine to the traditional sides, octopus was amazing maybe a little large. My steak was perfect & size of asparagus was divine. Will be back.
