What an amazing place. We celebrated our wedding anniversary here. From the beginning, we were impressed. Hand written note, very warm welcome from all the staff. Steaks were cooked perfectly, & the desserts were devine. You guys have outdone yourself in the new spot. As soon as we left, we started planning the next visit
Celebrating my wife's birthday at Moishes was an incredible experience. C'était parfait ! The ambiance is wonderful, the portions are generous, & every dish was flawless in both taste & presentation. Hands down, the best steak in Montreal.
What blew us over, though, was the service. Having dined all over the world, I can say the hospitality here is absolutely on par with Japan's Michelin-starred spots. Our server, Danny, went completely above & beyond because my wife was feeling under the weather. He surprised her with a custom non-alcoholic drink, constantly checked in on her with warm towels, & even packaged a fresh dessert for her to enjoy at home since she couldn't finish it there.
This level of care & attention to detail truly touched our hearts. Un grand merci to Danny for an unforgettable day!

That was the worst experience I've ever had at this restaurant. The customer service was terrible. Our server would come by & then disappear for 30 minutes at a time, making it very difficult to get any assistance.
The food was also extremely salty, & I barely touched my meal because of it. To make matters worse, they accidentally gave my friend's cake to another table. The manager eventually came over to apologize & offered us complimentary desserts, but I never received mine & no one ever explained why.
I've always liked this restaurant & have had good experiences here in the past, which makes this visit even more disappointing. Unfortunately, the service tonight completely ruined the experience.
This restaurant really knows how to treat its guests. I can't remember the last time I went to a restaurant & felt an old school vibe of hospitality like this. From the valet that walked me to the door under an umbrella, to being correctly greeted by the manager & staff & the door , to the fact that they put complimentary hot bread, pickles & coleslaw on the table- you could not feel more welcome. Other steakhouses in Montreal could learn from them. Their wait staff is EXTREMELY professional, from the way they speak to how they pour the drinks & clear the table. The cocktails are strong & the food - FANTASTIC. I had the filet mignon & wedge salad , with berries for dessert & my friend had the beef carpaccio & homemade ice cream / brownie & all of it was perfect. We're lucky enough to eat at a lot of nice restaurants & this is one of the few I feel was absolutely worth the money & I will return to repeatedly. The little chocolate at the end was also a nice touch. Don't change anything about your traditions, they make all the difference.
Food:
Moishes was an excellent overall experience, even with one small food-related miss. The steak had great flavor, a deep char, & that classic steakhouse richness you want, but it was not trimmed as cleanly as it should have been. There was a piece of silver skin along the side that I had to cut away, which kept the steak itself from being perfect. That said, the rest of the meal really delivered. The escargot was one of the standouts for me: rich, garlicky, buttery, & exactly the kind of dish that makes you want extra bread on the table. The bread was also excellent, warm & satisfying with the butter. The fries were crisp & generous, & the Chocolate Explosion was insanely good. Rich, smooth, & a perfect finish to the meal.

Service was polished & professional. The meal felt smooth from start to finish & had the kind of pacing you want from a classic steakhouse.
Summary:
Overall, still a 5/5 experience. The steak could have been butchered a little cleaner, but the flavor, service, escargot, bread, & dessert made the meal feel special.
Awesome experience, super tasty food. Lunch menu was portioned well & affordable. My waiter Max gave us 10/10 service. Albeit the only thing I would question is the shrimp cocktail. Featuring only a singular jumbo shrimp is a bit lack luster compared to the other steakhouses I've been to (I think two would be a perfect portion). Overall, the steak, Monte Carlo potato, desserts & service made up for it. Will definitely come back again! Ps. The Mille-feuille was one of the best I've tried in the city.
Delicious meal with fantastic service! Our waiter Alan was amazing & made our experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend the lobster appetizer, the pepper sauce for your steak & the mille feuille for dessert!
We started with the beef tartare & Oysters Rockefeller appetizers, then ordered the bone-in filet cooked rare+ to share along with the loaded Monte Carlo potato & lobster mac & cheese. For dessert, we had the crème brûlée & even took a cheesesteak to go.
I'll be honest - I was a little nervous at first because there were so many reservations available, but I'm incredibly glad we decided to come. Our server, Antoine, was outstanding & made the experience even better. Between the exceptional service, perfectly cooked food, & overall atmosphere, this was easily one of the best dining experiences - & the best steak - I've ever had, & we travel quite a bit. Thank you for making our experience everything we wanted!
