Afficher toutbread(62) sourdough(22) pain(16) focaccia(14) loaf(10) sandwiches(9) sandwich(9) price(9) fresh(7) bakery(7) olive(7) club sandwich(6)I used to like this bakery a lot & the sourdough taste is great, but my last two classic loaves (two weeks ago & today) have been filled with such large holes they're practically 1/3 air….Today the worker was kind enough to offer a free loaf after I showed them pictures of the previous one (1st pic), & they said they checked that the one they sliced this time was better, but when I got home it was even worse than before (2nd pic)….I understand the bubbles are the result of a long fermentation & process but this is too extreme & more of a fault. For the price too ($11)….
Good bread but prices are out of touch. I wouldn't go back, nothing specifically better between this or an other bakery that doesnt cost 2x
Bread tastes good but even if it is artisanal, it doesn't explain the price.
30$ for a loaf od bread & a focaccia. I don't mind paying this for the best bread there is but this is simply not the case here. The bread is good, but nothing to write home about. In my opinion, the taste does not justify the price at all. I saw the answers of the owner for the reviews saying the same thing, but the quality of the ingredients do not justify their steep prices. In my opinion, a lot of the hype is the result of their great instagram & marketing efforts.
You can find as good & even better at a better price around Montréal for you weekly bread.
They have great bread, but this particular visit was about their viral turkey club sandwich.
Don't get me wrong. It was very good. Fabulous balance of ingredients & super fresh. Naturally, the bread was top-notch.
The price though. $25 after tax & tip. For a sandy. I need that under $20 if I'm gonna be a regular. Definitely worth a shot though, just not an every day sandwich.
Delicious Sourdough very airy & has a great consistency. Loaf was good size for the price.
Olive & walnut loaf was flat & a bit gummy but they were fair & knocked two bucks off the price. Taste was interesting, crumb still holding. Maybe not the best day.
Asked to buy some of their starter, cashier said it was their'closely guarded secret', politely refused. Was advised to ask other bakeries in the area. I wonder if that secret is holding them back. Great baguettes, though!
Great bread. As others noted, I don't understand the no slicing policy. At this price point it should be an option to those who want it sliced at the time of purchase. Doing it at home just doesn't come out the same! Also they run out quickly, I came to the store twice & at 1 pm they were out of the Olive walnut...
Really amazing sourdough .. however don't understand the policy against slicing .. given the price point I'm happy to order in advance so they can slice the next day. Slicing is major inconvenience.
Really great bread - that is undeniable! However, they don't slice it for you. I hate hack-job slices. So, I won't be going back until they run their loaves through a sliver for customers. Especially at the price they're charging. & yes, of course, they turn the iPad around for a tip. Workers deserve fair wages!! (Miette could learn a few things from Fry's in Victoria)
Delicious bread, good variety & helpful service. It is on the pricey side but it's very good.
Amazing sourdough breads! If I had to pick a favorite, it's the olive-walnut loaf. But it's hard to choose as they're all so delicious & worth the price!
