Great vibes, unique marketing & atmosphere & reasonable happy hour prices. There are $1 oysters Thursday happy hour (only?) & the staff are quick & friendly with the service. The menus are delivered in fun record sleeves & the murals of the space are colorful & pop! The space is not wheelchair accessible, there are a few steps to enter the first door, & heavy second door & stairs required for the bathrooms. There are multiple seat options with different levels of back rests for the bar versus table, & different levels of light & noise depending on where you are in the space. Overall I would recommend for the happy hour special but seemed pretty average for the normal bar/food service.

The food was amazing, the service was really cordial. This place has a perfect blend of cool yet chill atmosphere. The beef dish we had was spectacular, please keep it in the menu (they rotate menus often). Highly recommended.

Étant des clients assez habituels, & ayant recommandé dans le passé le restaurant à des nombreux de nos amis, nous pensons que nous ne reviendrons plus jamais. Nous étions déçus quant au rapport qualité / prix, plus que la moitié de nos assiettes des plats principaux était composée de la salade verte. Wellington de veau n'avez rien d'exceptionnel. Ne serait-ce que la cuisse de canard était irréprochable, mais elle aussi accompagné majoritairement que de la salade verte.
Nous nous sommes fait proposer l'ajout du''foie gras flambé'' sur le canard & sur le Wellington, nous avions accepté. Mon conjoint n'avez aucun morceau de foie gras sur le Wellington.
Le tout couronné par l'ajout de 24$ à notre facture, sans que le serveur nous informe au moment de la commande qu'il y a un tel supplément pour le''foie gras flambé''.
Pour qu'à la fin on s'aperçoit que leur mode de paiement square impose d'emblée un pourboire de 18%. Ceci n'était pas une expérience haute de gamme, qui mériterait un tel pourboire. & nous étions plutôt frustrés d'avoir dépensé 215$, n'avoir pas pu ajouter le pourboire à notre guise & en connaissance des circonstances.
Ce soir-là notre expérience n'était pas à la hauteur de nos espérances, & nous pensons qu'ils vont perdre de la clientèle assez rapidement en voulant économiser ainsi. Nous y retournerons plus jamais.

However, reserving online did not work for us using the Libro service. We reserved well in advance & received email confirmations. The restaurant did not receive the booking.
The restaurant, even though fully booked, hosted us at the bar for a short while & found us a table within 15/20 minutes (on New Years Eve). This was highly appreciated.

On est aller a ce restaurant avec MTL a table & notre groupe de 4 a adoré. Belle ambiance, Bon service, plat excellent & bonne portion. Nous recommandons Le Speakeasy.
The ambiance, the food, the Oysters!!, the wine!....all so amazing, so good, so tasty! Our waiter, David, is the classiest, most knowledgeable polite & kind gentleman to ever serve our table - he remembered me from my previous visit last fall, what I ate, what I was allergic to...unbelievable. The Creme Brule with Maple Syrup (complimentary birthday dessert), was to die for. I recommend Le Speakeasy to anyone who is looking to have a classy evening, with excellent food, drink & music. We are definitely going back, many, many more times.
Second time going & everything we ordered on the menu was amazing from the cheese platter, short rib, duck, pork chop to the creme brûlée!!

Le Speakeasy was outstanding! We had a larger group - 9 women - for a bachelorette weekend dinner. Our server provided us with wonderful service & conversation. The bride really enjoyed the charcuterie plate & cheese board. The atmosphere was fun & enjoyable!
I would highly recommend Le Speakeasy to a friend & will definitely dine there when I return to Montreal.

C'était vraiment cool de passer par la porte du frigo pour découvrir votre magnifique restaurant! Nous avons adoré l'ambiance, le décor, le service & bien sûr les plats. Je l'ai déjà recommander à 5 personnes.
A delightful experience all around, from entry to exit. Of course it is fun to access the restaraunt through an unexpected doorway, but that is only the beginning! Tasty period cocktails, camouflaged within books & a comfy, casual ambience. The staff was very friendly & accommodating, especially given that my French is atrocious! Both my husband & I were able to choose entrees which were exactly what we wanted, even though we had no idea what that might be when we sat down. I would highly recommend dinner & cocktails at Le Speakeasy when visiting Montreal.
Food & cocktails were exquisite, spectacular decor. Very attentive, pleasant & friendly service. We were a group of 8 for a birthday party & they took care of us all evening. Would definitely return & I strongly recommend this resto.
Le Speakeasy themed restaurant is an "experience" from the minute you arrive. We took friends & their look on their faces was priceless when we first arrived & we appeared to by in a cafe selling sandwiches. The whole evening was fun & the food was excellent. We would recommend the platters for sharing if you go in group. We will definitely go back the next time we are in Montreal.

Concept réussi, ni trop, ni trop peu! Le menu est intéressant, en particulier pour les amateurs de fruits de mer. Pour les avoir vu s'afférer en cuisine, les assiettes sont concoctées avec ce qui semble être de la passion! Un service sans faute, agréable, accueillant & généreux. Bref, j'y retournerai & le recommanderai!
