Highly recommend. Our lovely server Vanora took great care of us. The restaurant has a nice ambience at night, however the food was the highlight. We had oysters, burrata, steak tartare & their famous beef broth pasta - absolutely recommend. High quality food, drinks & service. Must check this one out if you're in Montreal.
The Crudo portions are a joke for the price.
Tuna slices were like 1cm wide & 2cm long, the fish tartare had to be scraped off the plate, the stuffed mushrooms had no discernible taste.
The only spice you can taste in all dishes is an overwhelming amount of salt.
The steaks & fish were overcooked.
It's nicely decorated, but they need more lighting. Had to use the phone flashlight to see the menu. Even the waitress had to use the pay terminal to see the bill amount.
Service is attentive. Waitress keeps walking around & a close watch on the table.
Overall, a very disappointing experience.
As soon as I arrived, I had a strong feeling that I would receive excellent service. I was captivated by the high ceilings & lovely decor. The staff was attentive, consistently clearing away finished plates & keeping our table tidy. The food was superb. The tuna crudo had a delightful crunch & the perfect amount of acidity. At first, I found the fried octopus to be a bit bland, but once I tried it with the sauces, I was pleasantly surprised by the flavors. The hanger steak was really well-marinated. The meal finished on a high note with an amazing olive cake . I cannot emphasize enough how much I appreciated the quality of the service. Great staff!
Appetizer: tuna, scallop, black cod, & avocado were excellent, crafty presentation tasted really good. The scallop was fine, the concept is better than the actual taste but still satisfactory Main course: steak & halibut was amazing, generous cut, flavourful & pretty presentation. Lamb was ok, but I wouldn't recommend Dessert: panna cota with bourbon sauce & orange was excellent, well balanced sweet, cream, & freshness, also very pretty. 4.5/5.0 Oysters, short ribs & steak were good, portions were decent for most orders except the fish. The chicken & the bread were underwhelming. The desserts were great! Roughly 80$ per person before drinks, taxes & tips.
I had a wonderful time at jellyfish restaurant. The restaurant has a very unique design, with colorful lights & decorations that create a cozy & romantic atmosphere. It's a perfect place for a special occasion. I tried the New York cut steak, & it was cooked to perfection. The meat was tender & juicy, & the sauce was rich & flavorful. The service was on point, & the staff was attentive & courteous. They made sure we had everything we needed, & they even brought us a complimentary dessert. The price was reasonable for the quality & quantity of food. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a special night out. Jellyfish restaurant is one of the best restaurants in Montreal.
We have visited Jellyfish + Crudo a number of times over the years, & it has become one of our go to's when looking for a nice dinner with quality meals in a classy ambiance. The views of the square are charming & offer a beautiful glimpse of Montreal, especially in winter time (see photos for reference). The restaurant offers a mix of seafood & meats...but, as the name reveals, there is a greater emphasis on the seafoods such as Oyster Nachos or Octupus Tempura. For our meal, we started with the Crispy Brussel Sprouts (good but maybe a bit over done), then Hanger Steak (very good with tasty chimichuri sauce), the Filet Mignon (excellent...meat was perfectly done & the mashed potatoes were super creamy & a great compliment to the meat), & the Rotelle (also excellent...the oxtail ragu was super-tasty...but the pasta was a bit too al dente...make sure to request it over-done if you order it...it's also a huge portion so expect to take some home). Dessert was their long standing S'mores (its very good...but VERY sweet). Also, based on previous visits I recommend the Avocado Carpaccio as an excellent starter (especially if you like truffle). Service was excellent with a call-out to Catherine who always seemed available or just checking up on us even though the restaurant was quite full. Strong recommendation...especially as a date night or for a special family celebration. Enjoy!
I want to go back to all the reviews I've ever given a 5 star to, change them to a 4, so I can give Jellyfish a well-deserved 5 stars. You are welcomed by the most lovely staff in a beautiful, chic restaurant. Our waiter Michael was attentive & agreeable. The food came out promptly & was delicious. Fresh oysters, an original burrata recipe, & homemade fries. The steak is undoubtedly one of the best steaks I've ever had. It has a garnish of fried onion, homemade chips & I believe Parmesan & parsley (correct me if I'm wrong). It was refreshing to taste such high quality steak with a different recipe. The wine selection was incredible, I have actually never seen something like that in Montréal. The espresso martini was also great. Service was swift & efficient. I'd also like to mention Jonathan who made us a personalized white wine recommendation with astonishing story telling skills & dynamism. This place is the true definition of hospitality. The staff is driven by passion about what they do. It's a gem. I will be back soon. Cheers.

Ordered the bone marrow pasta becsuse of a tiktok video. It was good cooked perfectly eldente. With that said i think bc of the butter it was a bit watery in consistency but none the less a unique & great option. My partner ordered filet mignon it was okay. Not great. The night before we went to vieux port steakhouse & for similiar pricing complete perfection. The steak here was underwhelming. Thought there could be more .... portion & or unique side options like a mash puree or some option of seasoned vegetables. Not a huge fan of either bakchoy or just frites. Overall good expetience. Lovely atmosphere solid 8/10 experience but not food mastery from a menu & taste perspective & overcharging for steak that is mediocre.
A great experience for a nice dinner, nothing to criticize at all. The service was great although it was busy; the atmosphere was cozy & warm & the food was on point. Tried the filet mignon & the hanger steak both were cooked to perfection tender & juicy & goes great with the rest of the plate, it all comes together very well. For the entree went with the avocado carpaccio & it was the best, light & packed with flavours. Recommend!
Food was absolute trash. Ordered the steak & it was served cold. The asparagus was basically raw. The oysters were good though. Server was really nice. The ambiance was cool.
I totally loved the overall experience here! I would recommend booking way ahead of your dinner. The tables indoor get booked really fast.
We got a table outdoor dinning area. It was beautiful with lights & flowers. Could get a bit cold so make sure you have a sweater.
The food was absolutely amazing. Every bite was a delight. I loved all the rich flavours of the food. The chicken & Rotelle were my best dishes. Can’t describe the feeling of that chicken in the butter sauce that accompanied it.
There was also the fried fish(I can’t remember the name) it was fresh & well prepared. It also had an amazing sauce to go with it. I ordered for medium rare steak & it was yummy!
The Rotelle came with oxtail & mushrooms in it & portion is large so can be shared by 2. We were stuffed & had a wonderful time here.
It was my birthday & I got a complementary piece of cake on the house. The cocktails were great as well.
The service here was exceptional. They made sure we got our drinks topped regularly. They were patient, explained the dishes, made great recommendations & overall were courteous.
Overall, this was an awesome experience. I literally had zero complains. Lol 🤣😂 except the fact that I was over fed. Every meal was delicious. I will definitely love to come back for my dates.
