Another wonderful experience at Le Boulevardier. I first discovered them a few years ago where they impressed me during MTL à Table & I've been back several times over the years as a result. I'm overdue to leave them a review. One of the first things I remember impressing me was how they took my allergies seriously. For instance, one time in the past, I ordered oysters & told them not to bother bringing any hot sauce or anything spicy since I couldn't use it anyways. On their own initiative, they brought me a delicious pear-based mignonette instead that I still rave about. Much more special & unique than the standard onion & red-wine based mignonette that often comes with raw oysters. I also took a chance in 2024 to try their Montreal en Lumiere menu & was totally wowed by the creativity & daring & unique menu they came up with. Now I will focus on my most recent visit in July 2024. I had the scallops in bacon cream sauce & it was delicious. The scallops were cooked just right & I completely cleaned my plate of all the sauce with the bread. It was the kind of dish where you stopped talking to people at your table because it was so delicious you couldn't focus on the conversation & just automatically tune everything out while you are absorbed in the taste explosion in your mouth. The beef with foie gras & potatoes daupinois with asparagus was perfectly cooked & seasoned. I loved everything on my plate, & it all went together wonderfully. The beef was so tender, each bite melted in my mouth & the foie gras elevated it to another level of decadence. I normally don't order things like steaks, preferring to choose my own cuts of quality beef & cooking them at home, but I had no regrets at all ordering this dish. The knowledgeable servers told us it was a signature dish that they often keep on the menu even when other selections on the menu change. Now I understand why. The dessert was also unique (it had mushroom ice cream) & beautiful. The service was impeccable. Everyone we spoke with was so knowledgeable about the food & alcohol pairings, & knew everything about the menu, what to recommend, etc., & did so with obvious passion, professionalism & enthusiasm. The ambiance is lovely, well decorated, & classy without being stuffy or arrogant. I always feel so comfortable & happy whenever I dine here. The staff are truly welcoming. I also appreciate that they don't cram tables too close together, so you can enjoy your conversations with your companions at your table without raising your voice & feel at ease without feeling like neighboring tables can listen in. Please keep up the excellent food, service & experience! I will definitely be back to try those seafood platters, as well as other items on the menu I didn't get chance to try yet. Le Boulevardier has continued to deliver over the years & has landed in my personal top 10 in Montreal list. I hope they continue in this fashion & I look forward to my next visit.
Cant recommend this place enough. We made reservations for a bachelor party for a nice dinner & opted for the wine pairing & fixed menu. It was outstanding & definitely an experience. The service was top notch.
Its going to be pricey, but its worth it. Treat yourself. Excellent wine recommendations & the food made me feel like I was a rockstar eating out. Hint, ask for a "side" of seared foie. Thank you Ocean & Jordane!!! Superb!!!
Ordered a tasting menu 6 courses. Sophisticated. Flavorful. Classic French plating Sweat fresh crab meat. Calamari perfect tender loverly dressing but croutons felt bit hard not crunchy. Perfect Lobster risotto. Very flavorful rabit saddle & plum & just the right salt. Good cheese plate average age / dryness / good flavor. Amazing gelato dessert I don't understand why utensils were not changed between dishes. Plating is good & classic but suggest to elevate a bit since many like it wow on photo. Restaurant had a high end setting. Nice decor / lighting / color scheme. Nice comfort bench Host & server show welcome / smile. Server seems mix experience. I was seated & there is no one came to us for approx 10 min maybe less I didn't time. Just a greeting is all we needed if you are busy. I asked for a change of table windows seat & got the okay from the host. There is missed of communication where other reply windows seating was reserved I had only tap water & no wine. I felt I was pushed for bottle water. Reminded second time to get me slice of lemon. When refill my water I was asked bottle water again. This show server doesn't remember what I ordered in such a high end setup. At least they serve dishes on the serving side. Server did not brief on dishes being served. It is often a nice touch to tell guess what's on your plate.
I would have given 6 stars if it was an option. This place is INCREDIBLE! I had the pleasure of having Amelie as a server, Nicholas recommended an amazing wine, & Sidney made me the best cosmo I've ever had. Highly recommend :)
ALL stars! Great food great service,we didn't order any wine & we have a young kid, they were taking good care of him & provided kid's food though they don't have a kid's menu. Definitely a come back when you are around downtown to enjoy at this place.
My husband & I had a fantastic experience. We enjoyed the tasting menu - food was delicious & wine selections on point. Service was impeccable further adding to the experience. We will return when we are back in Montreal.
Le boulevardier is a restaurant that shows what it means to be a cut above the rest. The food was incredible, well thought out & presented with a clear idea in mind. The Sommelier, Jordan is a very knowledgeable & kind person who not only informs while he serves, but caters to your tastes while knowing his wine card inside & out. Our Waitress Nicole was very sweet, dedicated & clearly passionate about her work, being able to describe our plates with ease & knew her restaurant well. Jason, another waiter who guided us through our service, was funny, kind & attentive. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there & definitely intend on going back, not only for the fantastic food, but for the kind staff as well
Went for New Year's eve 8 course meal, it was 270$ per person for "8" courses & a glass of wine. I say "8" because one of the services is just a palette cleanser & they consider that as a service, which to me makes no sense. The portions were very small, although tasty. The service was very good, & the ambiance was okay, it was a little empty & music was very low. At midnight, despite the price, they served 10$ prosseco to everyone(I know the price because the waitor told us & showed us the bottle). I am being generous with four stars because I think it was way overpriced. I've eaten in better restaurants, with bigger portion for a third of that price (maybe it was because it was NYE, & they were milking people). I know the restaurant business is hard, but that was immensely overpriced, & left us disappointed walking out.
Amazing food, & good wine pairing suggestions. I recommend the bison, it was tender & incredibly tasty.

Excellent food in a beautiful atmosphere. We enjoyed the oysters, lamb confit & delicious beef tenderloin. Wines were excellent. Prompt, attentive service.

The service was very friendly & professional. The food was exquisite, & the wine suggestions were excellent. I would definitely go & back & highly recommend it.

The quantity of the main dish ( the Turbot) could have been more. The only negative comment I have is the price of a glass of wine. A 6 oz. glass of red wine is $20. That's unacceptable. I, most likely, won't go to the restaurant again.

What do you mean no more ris de veau? The whole food thing seem to be slowly going down hill. & more attention to the level of wine in my glass would be appreciated.

Fantastic & professional service all around. Went as part of a group of 4, & I appreciated how passionate the Wine server was about his sphere of expertise. Explained each wine in great detail & made excellent recommendations to go with our entrees. The waitress was wonderful & served us well based on her recommendations & we had an overall excellent experience! 10/10 all around!!
Restaurant in the Le Germain hotel, terrific quality food & atmosphere. Surprisingly good kitchen. I would eat here even if not staying at the hotel. Big windows overlooking Rue Mansfield & downtown Ave Pres. Kennedy add a nice ambiance. Well-chosen wine list too.... priced right for what you get....really liked it.
Very glad with our experience dining at Le Boulevardier. It was a quiet night as we got pretty late there ; but we appreciated the 1970s reference cool decor, soft music, & views of the city lights. Service was friendly, made personal wine recommendations. The food was above par: creative ingredients, presentation & overall, savory.
Will we go back? Most certainly.
After trying a few restaurants in Montreal, i could feel that le boulevardier is trying to position themselves as a serious French culinary restaurants. The ingredients & cooking techniques of their dishes are thoughtfully selected. I was very happy with my main of the grilled foie gras & tenderloin steak which was very satisfying . As a first time visitor to Montreal , I was ordering on the more cautious side. On the second thought after the meal,, I would go with the $95 food & wine combination to fully appreciate what they try to bring to the table.
