Dans l'ensemble, Jatoba est unanimement salué pour sa cuisine d'une finesse remarquable, ses présentations soignées et son ambiance chic et chaleureuse, que ce soit au restaurant principal ou au bar. La carte propose des plats d'inspiration fusion asiatique mettant en valeur des ingrédients frais comme sashimi, morue et wagyu, accompagnés de cocktails créatifs et de vins bien choisis; de nombreux convives recommandent les sushis Bluefin, les dumplings et les plats de poisson à partager. Le service est globalement attentif et compétent, avec des serveurs et barmen qui savent conseiller et personnaliser l'expérience, même si certains retours mentionnent des moments d'attente ou des petits accrocs ponctuels. L'expérience est souvent décrite comme mémorable et digne d'une occasion spéciale, avec des gestes du chef et une attention chaleureuse, et beaucoup apprécient aussi le cadre et la véranda lumineuse. Bien que le coût soit élevé, nombreux estiment que la qualité et l'ambiance justifient le prix et annoncent leur retour pour tester d'autres plats; quelques expériences au lunch ou au service peuvent toutefois varier et gagner en fluidité.
My daughter & I were staying across the street & in a rush with no reservations were seated in at the bar & had the most amazing food eggplant, 2 orders of dumplings & sushi. Service was outstanding we were only in montreal for a few days but I would not hesitate to make a reservation & dine here again.
Very high quality ingredients (especially fish for sashimi & sushi), fair portion sizes, great breadth of options, only problem was deciding what to order because everything sounded amazing!
One of the most upscale neo-Sushi restaurants in Montreal, Jatoba offers an excellent selection of sushi & other seafood dishes with an Asian flare, in addition to some meat dishes. While the dishes are large enough for individuals they are not huge so I would feel that this would be a "shared dishes" restaurant good for larger groups. The ambiance matches the upscale menu with the restaurant sub-divided into different seating areas but with openings in the walls to give the sense of larger edifice. There is also a very nice garden area in the back to enjoy in warmer months.
For our meal, we had a large offering...Gyoza (very good), Spicky Salmon Maki (very good), Hamachi Maki (good), Jatoba Cod (very good & tasty), Chilean Sea Bass (Excellent...crispy & flavorful), regular Sea Bass (also very good), Star Anise Spare Ribs (excellent), Lamb Shank (on the special...wonderful), & two desserts (Cookies & Cream & Caramel Dream...both very good).
Service was excellent, friendly & prompt. Highly recommend a visit (although bring your cheque book). Enjoy!
NOTE: There is valet parking which is helpful as this area can be very difficult to find a spot.
Amazing food. Each dish was super tasty. We had the Lamb, seabass, lobster sushi, cauliflower & gyoza. All very delicious. The cocktails were also awesome. Will come back again to try the other dishes. Also, the dream caramel for dessert is so good.
always top notch, the vibe at this restaurant is always on another level the food is extraordinary & olivier has put this place so well together with the service , ambience , & sushi 🍣 a staple in the montreal foodie choice list

Really the only disappointment was the fillet of beef. So little on the plate.... That was a rip off. 68.00.
Phenomenal experience. Top notch food, atmosphere, & wait staff. Have been here multiple times, & every time is an amazing experience all around. I always take my out of town guests here, as the food is always superb. The best sushi place in Montreal. Definitely a lifetime customer!
Très bel ambiance, bon service, cuisine succulente mais définitivement dispendieux. Si vous avez le portefeuille, allez-y sinon s'abstenir. 1 rouleau de sushi ( 5 petits morceaux entre 28$ & $38)
Wonderful atmosphere. Sat at Sushi bar & watched the chefs make the sushi we ate. Made for a fun experience. Food was very tasty. We tried Octopus Dumplings, Blue Fin Tartare, King Salmon Roll & Beef Tataki. All had wonderful flavor & plating was great. Really enjoyed.
Service was amazing. Chilean Sea Bass is out of this world. We had the nigiri salmon & Maki sushi, the firecracker dumplings, & the shrimp fried rice. We enjoyed the Maki sushi a little more than the nigiri but both were great. The firecracker dumplings & shrimp had a little heat but not overbearing making both delicious. Overall a great dining experience.
We came to celebrate our engagement. The waitress was so nice & patient. Love the whole experience! Sushi at this place is a must try! The duck fried rice has impressed me. The cocktail is also amazing! Best ambiance if you sit in the back garden room. Strongly recommended to friends around!
Food & ambiance was really good however the dishes are way over priced. The King mushrooms were by far the best entrees the rest such as the the fried dumplings felt pre prepared & warmed up ready to serve. The main dishes is where they really take advantage of the customers.We ordered pop Corn shrimp which was little bits of fried shrimps for 40$ & it was nothing special..one roll of salmon sushi cost 32$ which again was good but but crazy priced. Alll this to say the our bill was 640$ for 4 people which included 4 drink's+ a bottle of wine 60$.+ Tip = 720$. Nice place & good food but by no means worth the price... All this to say been there & done that but probably would never go back just based on the fact that they take advantage of their clients.
Fabulous!!!! Simply amazing!! Sushi was excellent, Covered terrace seating was surprisingly comfortable & warm. Can't wait to go back! Ambience was nice.
