Jatoba was excellent, from the service to the food everything was held to high standards.
We started off with the Sashimi Platter & the Crispy Salmon Rice Cakes which are some the chef's specialty dishes. These were extremely fresh & delicious.
The drinks were very well crafted, nothing beats a crisp cocktail from a mixologist who knows how to pair flavours.
For the sushi, we had the lobster roll which was my favourite (I would have preferred it to not have asparagus as it paired well but in my opinion I could do without), the torched salmon nigiri was solid & the Bluefin Tuna maki just melts in your mouth from how buttery & fresh the tuna is.
We finished off with the tuna tartare cones which had a delicious soy emulsion. As for the dessert we had the caramel marshmallow plate & it was so delicious!
This place overall was fantastic, the owner Manolo really knows how to take care of his clients. The sommelier was very helpful during our dinner, the staff always came to clean the table & check up on us & they really go above & beyond for their guests.
Went to Jatoba to celebrate my anniversary. Audrey was our barmaid & she was absolutely lovely! She was professional, kind & on top of everything. Also loved that she was knowledgeable about all the dishes :) Food was delicious & fresh. Sashimi plate was absolute 🔥🔥🔥 & the spicy edamames were so good! Thank youuu
Jatoba is hands down our favourite restaurant in Montreal. We're from out of town & every single time we visit, this is our must-have dinner reservation. We honestly don't even bother trying anywhere else anymore.
The food is always incredible & the menu has so much variety. We usually do the chef's tasting & it never disappoints. The sashimi is unbelievably fresh, every plate is beautifully presented, & even as someone who normally skips dessert, I enjoyed it.
What really makes this place stand out though is the overall experience. The service is flawless without ever feeling pretentious, drinks are never empty, the table is constantly refreshed, & every little detail is taken care of. Having Chef Olivier come by to check on us & walk us through the dishes really added such a personal touch. You can see the staff genuinely takes pride in what they do, & it shows in every part of the experience. You truly feel looked after from start to finish.
We celebrated a birthday this time & they made it feel so personal & special. Every visit here reminds us why we keep coming back. Whatever you're doing, don't change a thing.
Delightful culinary experience with excellent & attentive service, many tasty options for non-sushi lovers too. Finish with a crafty sorbet.
One of the most beautiful & cozy restaurants in Montreal. Jatoba is truly a vibe…lush with live plants (all real) & dramatic, oversized vines that make the space feel both intimate & elevated.
The service was outstanding, with an impressive level of attention to detail throughout the entire evening. You can tell they take real pride in the experience they create.
The food was excellent overall. The black cod was good, though I personally found it a touch on the fishy side, & the miso soup was a bit too salty & missing that deep umami richness I was expecting. That said, the boneless chicken wings completely stole the show-unlike anything I've ever tasted before. Absolutely fantastic & worth the visit on their own.
Overall, a stunning restaurant with exceptional service & memorable dishes. I'd definitely return.

The food was so good, we shared many dishes as a group & everything was wow
We celebrated my girlfriend's 40th birthday last night & had an unforgettable supper at this restaurant. From the moment we walked in, the host greeted us with a warm smile & made us feel genuinely welcome, setting a relaxed & celebratory tone for the evening.
Our waiter was attentive, courteous, & friendly throughout the meal, always checking in at just the right moments & acknowledging that it was a special occasion for us.What truly elevated the experience was when Chef Olivier personally came to our table to say hello & present a few of the dishes himself. This thoughtful gesture made us feel incredibly honored, & my girlfriend felt extra special, as if the whole team was celebrating with us.
The combination of warm hospitality, professional service, & that personal touch from the chef turned a simple night out into a beautiful memory that we will cherish for a long time.
We would wholeheartedly recommend this place for anyone looking to celebrate an important milestone or simply enjoy a memorable evening.
A heartfelt thank you to Chef Olivier & the entire staff for making this celebration so memorable & for treating us with such care & kindness. Your attention to detail & genuine hospitality did not go unnoticed, & we are deeply grateful for the experience you created for us.
I was visiting for a work function & all the dishes were cooked to perfection.
The sole reason I don't give it 5 stars is the lack of meatless dishes. I was hoping for perhaps some tempura but I settled for Chinese eggplant & I broke down & ordered the gyozas because I was starving.
Service impeccable.
Food quality unsurpassed.
Menu selections abundant.
My partner had crispy rice cakes with salmon tartare & ha gao dumplings. He went on to order the firecracker dumplings also & they were wonderful.
We loved our dinner at Jatoba! Never had such tender tuna... all the dishes were amazing & so were the desserts! Not inexpensive, but definitely special.
