Jatoba is being my favorite restaurant for a long time.
Last evening our waitress was very unprofessional, after ordering 3 plates of entrance she said is 3 plates par persone I said is the entrance & we will see later.
After that she keep interrupting our conversation to see if we were ready to order more & to have more drinks.
She made the evening unpleasant with her attitude & very impolite.
I usually have only good things to say but not last evening.
My husband & I came for a celebratory dinner for his birthday. The food was excellent the drinks as well. I loved that they had a lot of options when it came to me cal & tequila. However the service was slow & I was a little disappointed that they didn't mention any thing for his birthday, no birthday dessert nothing. There was a private event happening so I understand if that could have affected the service.

Server took ages to come & greet us. When he did he seemed annoyed & inconvenienced by us. Didn't really ask us how he could help us we had to tell him we needed drinks & were ready to order. We had a 530 reservation so it wasn't really that busy. We loved the food & the decor, but not sure we feel comfortable with how we were treated. For the price point we are looking for a seamless experience.
Whenever we visit Montreal, we always go to Jatoba. The food is incredible. But this last visit was so disappointing. Not because of the food (it was so good!), but the service. Really, really bad. So slow (took 40 mins to get our first drink). We will come back to Montreal this fall & will hope the service is a lot better.
Nous avons reçu nos drinks après 30 minutes..... ensuite nous avons reçu seulement 2 entrées sur quatre, le serveur a placé les entrées en même temps que le repas principal. Après une heure tous les repas principaux & accompagnements ont été servis sauf mon bar du chili. Après 30 minutes tout le monde avait fini je n'avais pas reçu mon repas principal alors j'ai annulé mon assiette. Alors j'ai été asse déçus de ma soirée. Je ne retournerai pas au Jatoba prochainement.
Nous avons eu un service impeccable! Que dire de la nourriture, des drinks & du vins ?! Superbe sélection & merci à Félix pour le vin. Stéphane pour son service & Charles pour les drinks :)
Really beautiful place with nice drinks.
On the pricey side for drinks/food but very delicious.
The bar staff was a bit too snobbish for my taste but the restaurant manager was very kind.
Food & ambiance was really good however the dishes are way over priced. The King mushrooms were by far the best entrees the rest such as the the fried dumplings felt pre prepared & warmed up ready to serve. The main dishes is where they really take advantage of the customers.We ordered pop Corn shrimp which was little bits of fried shrimps for 40$ & it was nothing special..one roll of salmon sushi cost 32$ which again was good but but crazy priced. Alll this to say the our bill was 640$ for 4 people which included 4 drink's+ a bottle of wine 60$.+ Tip = 720$. Nice place & good food but by no means worth the price... All this to say been there & done that but probably would never go back just based on the fact that they take advantage of their clients.
Loved the drinks, the food was delicious, fresh, served quickly, the service was great. The crepes dessert was not a hit for us. Average taste.
