They were able to accommodate a group of 8 with advance notice. Got the French Toast & honestly the best I have ever had. I still think about it & dream about it till this day. Service was amazing & the food was of quality. The drink assortments were of high quality also.
This place seems classic. Lots of business people, family celebrations, & special occasions.
The fish soup & mushroom pistachio pasta with the QC Chardonnay btg was the perfect seasoning.
Philippe was a pro server. My husband enjoyed the French Onion soup & hanger steak, the chef's choice of prep.
This was my birthday meal out. I have no regrets!
The only thing lacking in the atmosphere was the sound level. I think this place is best for groups of three or more. For some reason it was loud for the two of us but really, we managed fine.
Also, the seating is beautiful but not cushy.
Nice ambience & good service. Food experience disappointing though. Liver pate was nondescript & tasted processed rather than home made. The duck confit was bland, soft skinned & nothing like the proper French dish with crispy skin & tasty delicate meat. The salad with lardons & poached egg was ok but the salmon was bland too & the potato purée that came with it was nothing special. The place itself looked promising but the cuisine did not deliver. Pity.
Excellent service in a warm & cozy environment with a great crowd of people & a great wait staff. Food was delicious French fare. They did an excellent job with the wine. The place is just a little noisy. The ceiling could use some acoustic baffles to make conversation easier, but I can't wait to go back!
Had a lovely lunch & enjoyed the food. Chose classic French cuisine & were not disappointed. Attentive & friendly service.
We came here with some business vendors who took us out for dinner. The inside is very classy & chique. & our waiter was very friendly & attentive during the whole meal. We started with some appetizers of oysters, steak tartare, foie gras & French onion soup. My main was the lobster ravioli. We finished with a few dessert samplings including crème brûlée. It was an amazing meal. Everything was delicious! I will definitely come back here when I'm back in Montreal!
Did it blow me away? No. Was it good French food at an expected price? Yes. Cool atmosphere, decent wine selection, better whiskey selection
Woww!!!!! Trust me. Avoid those trendy old port places that are beyond expensive for the quality of service & food you get & go to Holder. Prices are extremely decent. Its our new favorite restaurant. French cuisine does not disappoint, the food is AMAZING. The service, the ambiance, the food is all wow. Customer service is one of the best. Wish i could name our server but they don't have name tags. He had longer hair, the Africa continent shaped tattoo on his right arm next to a little rose & a little mushroom. Greatest service. We will be back many times.
Our first time having French Cuisine. It was remarkable. We have a fabulous experience.
The food is the star of this restaurant: lobster ravioli, flank, fries from the flank in the truffle lobster ravioli sauce, or gnocchi, all delicious. French onion soup for the first time was wonderfully cheesy & a peppery depth to the sauce. A regular for us when visiting Montréal each year.
