Great experience for a boozy brunch at brasserie 701. We had a bachelorette & our day's activities were cancelled because of the bad weather so we ended up starting our day at brasserie 701 for brunch. It really started our day well, the waitress Melissa was really nice, took good care of us & our bachelorette. She was also very fun & smiley! Will definitely recommend it for other bachelorettes !!
Our server Melissa was phenomenal! We went for a bachelorette brunch & she went above & beyond to ensure we had a great time. Everyone agreed that the food was the best brunch we've had. Gorgeous place as well!

Had a little family brunch there last sunday. We arrived at 10 am with reservations. The decor is imaginative & whimsical. The service is attentive. Every item on the menu sounds delicious, but the meals are rather ordinary compared to the glam decor. The duck confit Benedectine was delicious. The smoked salmon Benedectine was good. Mushroom toast for 23$ was a bit sad served with nothing other than a copious amount of balsamic glaze. The bread was dry & hard to cut through. A few fruits, even if just for garnish on all plates, would have added a touch of refinement. Small note: roasted potato serving sizes were inconsistent on both plates. Regular coffee is included. As we left around 12:30, the restaurant became much busier. Hopefully, they will address our few comments so we can return this summer & enjoy the wonderful decor!
Had brunch in the private room for a bachelorette party. The private room is great so would recommend for an event, very spacious we had 10 people & there was plenty of space. It was a set brunch menu, picture attached. We arrived on time & our table was not ready so we did wait about 10 minutes or so in the lounge so recognizing they were likely busy & understaffed.
The service was very very slow, with such a large group in the private dining room you would expect a more attentive service. Getting coffee & mimosas probably took a good 20-30 minutes & the food only arrived about 45 minutes after placing the order. The whole brunch took probably 2.5-3 hours.
The basket of fresh croissants & baked goods were incredible! They were warm & tasty! The rest of the brunch menu was mediocre. The latte was alright. We were given espresso martinis version of a shot at the end of the brunch on the house, which was a nice touch.
Service très inattentif, beaucoup de temps pour préparer des cocktails (plus de 15 mins avec une salle vide), personne pour vérifier si c'est à notre goût, personne pour recommander un verre alors que les nôtres sont bien vide depuis un moment & qu'on essaie d'attirer l'attention d'un serveur. Deuxième cocktails, autant d'attente, 10 mins pour nous dire qu'il manquait un ingrédient. Le barman était plus occupé à discuter avec les clients au bar que faire nos cocktails. Nous étions les seuls à commander à boire (fin de brunch). Obligé de demander la facture au comptoir. Pas un au revoir quand on croise les serveurs en partant.
Bref, jolie place, bons cocktails, mais très mauvaise expérience de service.
OMG you guys! I went for a brunch with my friends. Visiting from Toronto. This place is really nice. Food is great. & service is just 5 out of 5. Thank you to Melissa our server. She is the best. Took her time & often checked on us.

Such a nice place with a warm & welcoming ambiance. We went for brunch, & everyone in our group was satisfied. The food was absolutely delicious! Ayman's service made the experience even better-he was so patient & friendly as we decided on what to order. He even surprised us with a little treat for my friend's birthday, which was such a thoughtful touch. I would return to explore their dinner & drink menu.
We had an amazing brunch here! The avocado toast (with perfectly poached eggs) & steak & eggs were amazing & the cocktails were on point. Maeva's service was awesome & she was so sweet to bring us a little treat to help me celebrate my birthday. For the gluten free folks out there, they do have gluten free bread & were very accommodating of my allergy. I would definitely come back!
Brasserie 701 was my restaurant of choice for my Christmas morning brunch! It did not disappoint! My server Tristan went above & beyond- he was incredibly busy but still made time to offer a few suggestions around Montreal "from a local". I really appreciated this banter as he gave me tips & tricks & insider info on the places I was already planning to visit. Once a year I award a server 100% tip for being incredible, & Tristan was my 2024 recipient! Thank you so much! The buffet was officially supposed to begin at 10am. I was seated around 950 & everyone was floundering about setting up the buffet. It seemed like nobody was in charge & everybody was unsure of their role. I didn't even get water or a Bonjour until about 1020! But it was smooth sailing from then on out! There was a hot table with beef bourginon, eggs Benedict & salmon. The cold table featured different salads- classic Caesar, beet salad & quinoa salad. The dessert table was far off on the side & I'm not sure many people even saw it (I was sitting across from it). The sunshine hits in the most lovely way through the windows of Brasserie 701. It's perfect for taking photos! The building is beautiful from the outside as well! It's right down the street from Notre Dame basilica. Thank you for the loveliest way to spend Christmas morning!
I went there for lunch with my wife, & we wanted to try their "Beef filet mignon" & their "Lobster with Sabayon" but unfortunately this was impossible as they were serving only brunch with a unique menu for the holiday period! This could have been easily avoided if they had mentioned it on their website!!! Anyways we ended up eating the "Poulet Gaufré" & the "Bénédictines au confit de Canard" & they tasted good enough! The service was good & the ambiance too but we were disappointed because of the misunderstanding I mentioned earlier!
