J'ai mangé à Brasserie 701 lors d'un bachelorette au début du mois de Mars. J'ai choisi le Benedictine au canard confit du menu Happening Gourmand. C'était bon. Aussi leurs patates déjeunés sont excellentes. Par contre, le servie était long. Finalement, l'ambiance est chaleureuse & la décoration est une expérience à elle-même.

Arrivé tout fraichement sur Montréal pour quelque jours,
Que dire de cette belle Brasserie dans le vieux Montréal, restaurant d'excellence & de qualité, Mélissa au top du début a la fin & souriante, pour les plats le Mythique boeuf bourguignon pour ma compagne, & moi le Hommard Royal ce met delectable , le sabayon très raffiné, une pointe d'orange, je vais m'en souvenir pour un lointain moment

I came to Montreal for the history, the architecture, the culture, & the short track speed skating world championships… but I stayed for the dirty martinis at Brasserie 701.
Enter Shady - bartender, mixology wizard, & the only man I've ever seen shake a cocktail with the quiet confidence of Patrick Mahomes in the fourth quarter. The resemblance is uncanny. If Mahomes ever needs an offseason job, I'm convinced he's already been moonlighting behind this bar.
As a Toronto girl, I take my martinis very seriously. Shady served me two of the most delicious dirty martinis I've ever had with some potent local gin. Perfectly chilled, perfectly salty, & strong enough to make me briefly consider moving to Montreal permanently.

If you find yourself at Brasserie 701, do yourself a favour: ask Shady for a dirty martini. Just be warned - you'll probably end up ordering a second one. I certainly did. 🍸

Dès les premiers échanges pour l'organisation jusqu'au jour même, l'équipe a fait preuve d'un professionnalisme, d'une gentillesse & d'une flexibilité remarquables. Tout a été parfaitement coordonné : l'accueil, l'aménagement de la salle privée, le service attentif & bien sûr la qualité du brunch, qui était délicieux.
Nous avons particulièrement apprécié l'attention portée aux détails ainsi que l'accompagnement offert tout au long de la planification. Cela nous a permis de vivre pleinement notre cérémonie, sans stress, entourés de nos proches.
Nos invités n'ont eu que des commentaires élogieux, tant sur l'ambiance que sur la qualité des plats.
Un immense merci à toute l'équipe de la Brasserie 701 d'avoir contribué à rendre cette journée si spéciale & mémorable.
We spent Valentine's Day at Brasserie 701, & it was the absolute highlight of our evening in the Old Port. The atmosphere was perfectly romantic, but what truly set the night apart was the incredible team taking care of us.
A massive shoutout to Shady & Felix behind the bar, their service was impeccable. They were attentive, fast, & added a great energy to the night while making sure every detail was handled. It's rare to find staff that can balance a busy holiday crowd with such genuine, personalized care, but the entire team here made it look easy.
As for the food: the Filet Mignon was cooked to absolute perfection, incredibly tender & flavorful. We also had the Duck Entree, which was rich, beautifully presented, & easily one of the best dishes we've had in a long time.
If you're looking for a spot that combines a stunning historic setting with top-tier service & a menu that delivers, this is it. Thank you, Shady & Felix, for making our Valentine's Day so memorable. We'll definitely be back!

Elodie was amazing, & the service at Brasserie truly went above & beyond to make sure we felt satisfied & well cared for. She gave great recommendations, & we have nothing but positive things to say about the food. No negatives at all-everything was excellent. Would highly recommend!

Had a lovely brunch at Brasserie 701 today. The service was incredibly accommodating to me & my family (little girl), which made the experience even better. The food was delicious across the board, & a special shoutout to the pistachio coffee.. absolutely worth ordering. Great atmosphere & a perfect spot for a relaxed brunch with a nice Old Port vibe. Highly recommend!

Le service sans faille, très sympathique!
Our visit to Brasserie 701 started off on a sour note. Right from the beginning, our server, Mathilde (name on our bill, as she did not introduce herself), was quite rude when we mentioned we had an extra guest joining. The restaurant hadn't picked up the phone any of the times we called, so we couldn't inform them in advance, & she made it clear she wasn't happy about the change. That set a really uncomfortable tone.
Mathilde's rudeness wasn't just a one-time thing. She was condescending when we asked for five extra minutes to order at 6:55 (reservation was at 6:45), made snarky comments when we requested more bread after making us wait one hour after the first bread was served, & didn't listen at all when we tried to explain that our steaks were incorrect & why they were incorrect. Mathilde responded with visible impatience & rudeness. She rolled her eyes, made snide remarks, & generally didn't set a welcoming tone the entire time she was serving us.
We ended up waiting over two hours before actually getting our food. Naturally, asking for some extra bread just to hold us over didn't mean Mathilde could be pretty snarky about it & didn't need to make it clear that bread wasn't unlimited & basically treating us like we were asking for something unreasonable. The entire table was left wondering what was the cause of this mistreatment. As the table was full of young professionals, we decided that it was not okay for anyone to go through this & this ended up hitting a nerve after multiple disrespectful actions coming from the server. I requested a manager to take control of the situation & find us a new server just after my steak was wrong for a second time.
On the positive side, once it became clear that things were really not going well, especially after I received two steaks in a row that were cooked wrong (I ordered medium-rare & got well-done twice, & two other guests also got the wrong doneness) the manager, William JF, stepped in. He was truly kind & attentive, took over the table, & really tried to help us out after all the chaos. Thanks to him, we at least felt like someone was on our side & was listening & trying to make things right.
However, by the end of the night, even with his help, the experience just didn't fully recover. Although he credited the steaks & was willing to give me something else besides the steak, I truly was already without appetite by that point in the night. I just ate what I consider sacrilegious (a well-done steak, hard to cut, hard to chew, tasted like burned) that I didn't order because he suggested I change the plate. While William did his best to help & credited the dish, the overall experience never recovered from how poorly the service & the cooking were handled.
We were left waiting far too long for our meals, & the initial rudeness & mix-ups really overshadowed what should have been a nice dinner. In short, while we appreciated the manager's efforts, the evening ended up being more frustrating than enjoyable. The minimum respect expected was not received. We wondered if we did something wrong & felt like we were walking on eggshells around the initial server. While we were thanking her with a lot of kindness, she was responding with a lot of negativity. This is not the experience we had in mind when choosing this place to eat.
I personally have been to many different restaurants & have visited this restaurant for brunch on previous occasions, & I have never been treated this way before. Neither at the lowest nor the highest type of restaurants ever before. This speaks volume.
Booked a 4 party table for my birthday & just had the most wonderful experience! Great staff, amazing food & cocktails. Everyone was so welcoming & professional. Highly recommend as an intimate yet beautiful setting.

Je viens de découvrir un joyau au coeur de notre dame à Montréal. la Brasserie 701.
Depuis mon appel pour faire une réservation, Naki a été très accueillante & très agréable.
On arrivant c'est elle même qui m'a accueilli & m'a préparé ma table. Avec une attention & un grand sourire.
La cuisine est très raffinée, des plats délicieux & soigneusement bien présentés.
Je tiens à remercier tout le personnel pour leur professionnalisme & leur dévouement & surtout à leur amour pour ce travail. Je vous félicite tous & à leur tête le maître d'hôtel Mr Gavin.

Nous sommes allés déjeuner à la brasserie 701, le menu table d'hôte était excellent particulièrement la mignonnette de dorade. Les cocktails sont également délicieux, nous avons particulièrement adoré le cocktail « Le Mont Royal » au Hennessy VS avec ces saveurs automnale & sa vanille fraîche !
