Came here as part of a food tour & my only disappointment was we couldn't buy more foods to sample (without taking arms full of breads & pastries home!). We ended up ordering some items to our Airbnb before we left Montreal this morning because our food tour ended late & we couldn't go back to purchase anything else!
What we did eat on the tour was delicious though! The Champignon chocolate blanc & vanille was absolutely divine. Would absolutely recommend getting one if you are nearby & also trying a few other things. Please be advised the bakery has moved just down the street but it's well posted on the old building :)
We will definitely be back next time we are in Montreal!
Camping ain't camping with good bread.
The Pullman from Guillaume is the only bread I'd bring on a multi-day trip. Perfect as toast, grilled cheese & french toast.
Ohhh & the White Chocolate Mushroom, I'll leave them to speak for themselves.
I've heard a lot about this famous bakery, so I tried baguette & chocolatine. The baguette was a little gummy, in general, nothing remarkable. The chocolatine was not a good experience, it didn't taste fresh, it was not crispy, it felt dry & the chocolate didn't taste good. The service is acceptable. Not coming back.
Amazing selection of breads & other baked goodies! They have almost everything you can think of, from the classic pastries & breads to some remarkably innovative combinations. I was incredibly tempted by everything in the display case -- especially since the bakery smells like butter & sugar -- but eventually settled on their white chocolate brioche. The chocolate is mixed into the batter to give the entire roll a slightly sweet flavor, which is delightful when paired with the already soft, pillowy, & buttery brioche. I can't wait to go back & try more of their selection!
One of my favorites bakeries in Montreal & probably of all the Mile End neighborhood. Every single of their baked goods are fresh, prepared with love, generous & very tasty. The champignon is their most famous seller but I have a soft spot for their chocolate chip cookie & lemon cake. I haven't tried everything but there's always a good excuse to come back.
Cheese croissant is just amazing here, white chocolate & vanilla mushroom too. They even have many types of sourdough & everything is freshly baked. Their olive ciabatta bread is just delicious. I visited the place many times & I got a very good service from the staff. I would really appreciate it. They recently released a new thing called browkie I guess brownie+cookie which is interesting. I definitely recommend this place if you love traditional sourdough & baguette.
Fun to see the new location after moving away 3.5 years ago. Still lots of fun items to eat during & outside the holidays season. One of the big benefits is there are open early 7 days a week & usually the only spot open at 7am in the area. At least that was the case when I lived here in 2019-2021. Great service as always. I usually get the croissant & then something else depending on my mood. Lots of pick from. I got a chocolate frost cookie to go today's.
I was really disappointed. My cheese croissant was so dry & dusty it disintegrated as I ate it & the chocolate bread was dry too. Maybe first thing in the morning the goods are better. There was a big line & it was busy, so there must be something good...
My favorite bakery in town! Their white chocolate mushroom is a must!
As part of a food tour, this was one of our stops where we tried the White Chocolate & Vanilla Brioche Mushroom. So good!! I stopped by again this morning & bought 6 more plus coffee. All the breads in the store look amazing. A must stop if in Montreal.
Best chocolate brownies in Montreal! These brownies are amazing, super moist & chocolatey, with the perfect amount of salt. Boulangerie Guillaume is also a magnificent place for bread & the like. Unfortunately the service can be hit or miss, where sometimes you get greeted by a trendy stuck-up kid who has a hard time smiling, but that comes with the territory on the Plateau. Incomprehensibly, this bakery does not own a bread slicer machine, so they are incapable of pre-slicing their bread for you. 🤯
Had a white chocolate brioche mushroom as part of a food tour, nearly went back in & bought everything they had. Legit good.
Love their chocolate sourdough. Don't miss it. Other breads are all good. The only downside is some staff could be mean to English speaker. Yesterday I went the staff cashing me out was rude & refused to speak English until I said I don't understand.
Their sandwiches & their white chocolate & vanilla brioche mushroom are to die for!
Wonderful bakery!! We tried the cheese croissant, chocolatine & white chocolate vanilla brioche mushroom by recommendation, & they were all soo good!! By far the closest pastries we had in Canada to the ones we had in France. Affordable for the quality of products & also welcoming staff. Absolutely recommend when in Montreal.
