Review Summary

Overall for Aube Boulangerie, reviews converge on a bakery that many describe as outstanding for pastries and bread, with items like croissants, kouign amann, pain au sésame and sourdough repeatedly praised for flavor and texture, and the coffee and desserts earning high marks from most visitors. The atmosphere is often called welcoming, cozy, and conducive to a work session or a chat, though some note inconsistent service between staff and occasional unfriendly moments. While the quality and freshness are consistently highlighted, a few critics mention a small menu and higher prices, and a notable concern over ingredient labeling for allergy safety, with calls for clearer notices when nuts or other allergens are present. Several reviewers regard Aube Boulangerie as a must-visit and a delightful discovery in the neighborhood, with many claiming it offers some of the best baguettes in the city and a strong overall cafe-bakery experience that makes customers eager to return.

The pastries were really good, & this doesn't take away from their quality. However, I'm disappointed by the lack of transparency regarding ingredients.

I bought a chocolatine this afternoon that was not labeled as containing hazelnuts. Normally, a classic chocolatine does not contain hazelnuts, so we assumed it was the traditional version, as in the majority of bakeries. When I asked the employee about the ingredients, she didn't know, & there was no ingredient list available or any effort made to find the information. Unfortunately, my boyfriend had an allergic reaction due to the hazelnuts inside the chocolate.

For people with food allergies, clear labeling or a visible warning about nuts is essential. After the reaction, I checked Google photos to see if I had missed something & noticed that a year ago the owners had labeled the chocolatine as containing hazelnuts. This information should have been kept on the label.

Average pastries at best. Shame. Don't come out here from downtown, waste of time. Baguette is good though. Nice people & atmosphere.

Great spot overall.
Good bread, good pastries, good drinks.
The atmosphere is cool & the staff is nice & friendly.
It is quiet enough to work, but also cozy & a great space to meet & grab a lunch.

Pastries are always excellent! They use a lot of local products as well, like in the maple & sea buckthorn roussette ☺️

At Aube Boulangerie, the blueberry-filled croissant is a true standout. The croissant itself is perfectly flaky & golden, with a satisfying crunch that gives way to soft, buttery layers. The blueberry filling is generous & vibrant, offering a natural sweetness with a hint of tartness that complements the richness of the pastry without overpowering it. Each bite feels indulgent yet balanced, & the textures work together beautifully. It's the kind of pastry that feels like a treat but isn't overly sweet, making it perfect for a morning snack alongside a coffee. If you're a fan of fruit-filled pastries, this one is definitely worth trying. The craftsmanship is evident in every bite!

Aube is a fabulous bakery! During a week-long visit to the city, I went to Aube almost every day & kept finding new wonders. They have excellent bread (the best baguettes & specialty loaves) & delicious pastries, ranging from crispy croissants to cinnamon rolls & cookies. All baked on the premises & fresh as can be. The prices are also very reasonable & the service is excellent. On my last day in Montreal I loaded up with a large supply of goodies before driving back to the U.S.

Fresh pastries & tasty granola. Nice decor, light & greeny. No cash accepted. If you're not local, the neighborhood might be an unpleasant surprise - abandoned houses & kinda dead street when approaching from the West.

One of the best cafes I've ever been to. Their granola is DELICIOUS, their pastries perfectly flaky, tasty coffee, friendly staff, cute interior. A real treasure in the neighborhood!

Nice bakery & coffee shop with great croissants & pastries options. Were only able to try Choco Noisette with Lavender coffee. It was amazing! Will be coming again to try other options 😊

They need to fix the signage. Great spot for bread & pastries. Made on site. Another place you should visit if you're in Montreal. Bought the sesame bread, kouignn Amman & croissants.
