I celebrated my birthday at this restaurant yesterday & unfortunately left disappointed because of how I was treated at the end of the night.
When we arrived, we informed the staff that it was my birthday. While I wasn't expecting anything extravagant, the overall service throughout the evening was very basic & did not stand out in any way. Everyone at the table paid separately, & several people still chose to tip. I personally decided not to because I did not feel the service warranted it.
What made the experience uncomfortable was the waitress confronting me about my decision. She asked if there was anything wrong with the service, & I honestly answered no. She then responded with comments like,'So I just won't get paid? Okay,' & proceeded to explain that tips are her salary. As we were leaving, she said'happy birthday anyways' in a very passive-aggressive tone.
Regardless of how someone feels about tipping, confronting a customer in that manner is extremely unprofessional & left a very negative impression on me, especially on my birthday. Because of this experience, I would not return or recommend this restaurant to others.
Our server Fred was excellent, everything she recommended was incredible. Fresh sashimi, electric vibe & good service. There are two services so at times the restaurant might empty out however it will fill up again & the energy will re-ignite. Cocktails are good & off sushi menu times are great. Highly recommend & keep up the great work.
Food was underwhelming, the music was excessively loud, & the service needs significant improvement. We had to ask multiple times for basic items like napkins & utensils, which was frustrating. Considering the high prices, the portion sizes & quality didn't match expectations. You can find much better food, atmosphere, & service at places like Juni or Parc. Would not recommend.
Overall, nice ambiance, friendly staff, & excellent service. Most of what we ordered was good, especially the Gyosa dumplings.
The chicken karaage was a miss. It lacked flavor & tasted like plain fried chicken coated in a glaze. It could use a serious upgrade or be reconsidered as it didn't match the quality of the rest of the menu.
Le service est excellent. La serveuse connaissait le menu par coeur. J'avais demandé un tables tranquil & ils ont répondu à ma demande ce qui est très apprécié.
Cependant je n'ai pas trouvé que les sushis étaient si extraordinaires. Délicieux, oui mais chers, car vous payez le premium du Vieux-Montréal & de resto d'hotel. Je recommande pour les touristes qui visitent & veulent absolument manger dans le Vieux-Montreal.
Amazing experience at yubari! Went there for my GF birthday, the hostess Sabrine & the bartender Lena made sure we spent an amazing night. Thousand thank you to the whole crew. Would definitely recommend & go back. 💯

Les plats sont savoureux & préparés avec soin, le personnel est chaleureux & attentif, & l'ambiance générale est particulièrement agréable. Je recommande à 100%
J'ai réservé ce restaurant pour l'anniversaire de mon copain, les serveurs sont très gentils, efficaces & attentionnés, les sushis sont délicieux & nous avons également beaucoup apprécié le burger au wagyu ! Nous avons moins aimé le canard laqué, mais ça reste un très bon endroit, avec un dj & une musique/ambiance très sympathique. Je vous le recommande vivement ! 💯
The servers are really welcoming, but the overall service was expected to be better for the price & the experience. At the end of the day, it's just a feedback & I would still recommend.
Wow service incroyable notre serveur était très professionnel a écoute de nos besoins nous lui avons laissé choisir tout notre repas expérience culinaire dessert trompe l'oeil au citron & mange WoW je recommande fortement & yubari & une de mes nouveaux restaurants où je vais aller manger avec des amis

Me & my friend spent a lovely dinner at Yubari. The quality of the food is extraordinary. Strongly recommend the Yubari blue...fresh fish getting delivered in 3 days from Japan...hard to beat. But the experience was even better thanks to Alexia, a lovely waitress that really took care of every little things. Thank you !!! See you real soon !!!
I came here with my boyfriend for the second time after having a disappointing experience, & it was amazing, the service was great, we got treated well with hospitality by the hostess, the waitress, the runners & the manager. The whole team was supper great, after hearing about our first experience. The manager made sure that our second time at yubari was a night to remember, & he most certainly was right! The food was supper good, I definitely recommend the sushi experience.The new drink menu is 100 times better than the old one. We tried 4 different signature cocktails & every single cocktail was simply amazing & paired well with what we ate.
We are super glad we went back, & thanks to the amazing service, we will most definitely be back very soon !
