The first thing that stands out is the atmosphere. The space is compact, but the tables are thoughtfully arranged, which keeps the room from feeling crowded. The layout creates a comfortable flow where conversations remain intimate rather than drowned in noise. The low lighting adds warmth, & the presence of a live DJ gives the restaurant a subtle lounge energy without overpowering the dining experience.
The food is excellent. Each dish is carefully prepared & beautifully presented, with the kind of balance & precision you expect from a high-quality Japanese kitchen. The menu manages to feel both refined & approachable, making it easy to explore a few different plates.
Service is another highlight. The waiters & waitresses are attentive & genuinely helpful when it comes to recommendations. They guide you through the menu with confidence & enthusiasm, which makes the experience feel personal rather than transactional.
Overall, Yubari is a great spot if you are looking for excellent Japanese cuisine in a stylish but relaxed setting. The combination of outstanding food, thoughtful service, & a well-curated atmosphere makes it one of the more enjoyable dining experiences in the Old Port.

We celebrated my son's birthday at Yubari at the end of February 2026, & it was truly a wonderful experience from start to finish.
The sushi was absolutely amazing, incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, & full of flavor. The Chicken Karaage was just as impressive, perfectly crispy on the outside, tender & juicy inside, & seasoned to perfection.
The atmosphere made the evening feel even more special, warm, stylish, & welcoming, perfect for a family celebration.
A special thank you to Frederike, who was extremely attentive throughout the night. She took the time to explain the menu in detail & offered excellent recommendations that made our choices easy & spot on.
& we can't forget the Trompe l'oeil noisette which was a delightful & unexpected surprise that added a creative & memorable touch to the evening.
Overall, Yubari delivered an unforgettable birthday dinner. We'll definitely be back !

My wife & I has an incredible experience at Yubari this evening. I celebrated my 40th birthday by having dinner here. It was a bit of a last minute decision & I couldnt be happier how it turned out. The entire experience blew me away.
Ariel took the best care of us throughout the entire meal. She was so friendly & an absolute delight to chat with. She was extremely helpful with menu item recommendations that were absolutely perfect for us.
It was a pleasant surprise when we arrived & realized there was a DJ playing music. His music selection was the perfect addition to enhance an already perfectly curated atmosphere.
I am very sad that we don't live in Montreal, otherwise we would be regulars here.

Beautiful restaurant, amazing service, there's a coat check & the waiters are super nice. Went to try out the Yubari blue for two. I was initially in awe as the presentation was beautiful & the food looked amazing. I was happy to find fish that isn't common to see in sushi places in Montreal like otoro & chutoro which are some of my favorites. The crab roll was our favorite!! The mackerel sashimi had a bit of a bloody taste but everything else was great. Best quality I've had yet in Montreal sushi places, the uni was the best I've had including my Japan trip!!! My only complaint is that I felt the Yubari blue was way too rich, there were lots of fatty fishes & almost nothing to balance it out. This made us feel a bit sick right after the meal but fine the day after. Overall food quality is unmatched, the restaurant is beautiful, flavors are good, everything is great.

Première visite à ce restaurant. Nous avons commandé une soupe Miso, Sushi Yubari Signature & Sushi Farusato. Le tout était excellent, frais & gouteux. Le service de notre serveuse n'était cependant pas au niveau d'excellence de la nourriture. Elle nous a pas servi les plats, n'a pas pris le temps de venir nous voir en cours de repas, & la facture est arrivée tardivement. Somme toute, une belle première expérience que nous répéterons.
I had the pleasure of dining at Yubari last night with my partner, & while the experience was enjoyable, it didn't quite reach the exceptional level of my initial visit.
On a previous occasion, I savored the Yubari Blue for two, which I consider to be one of the menu's highlights. The nigiri pieces were, as always, delightful, but I found the maki selections to be less impressive than during my last order. I personally appreciated the Sashimi bowl, with its diverse cuts of fish. My partner, however, noted that many of the cuts were quite fatty, & felt that the flavor profiles could have been more varied, with some of the fish blending together. My first experience, I recall, offered a greater distinction in flavors. But still enjoyable nonetheless.
Our evening concluded with dessert, both options of which were truly delicious.
The service consistently stands out as exceptional, with all staff members being friendly & incredibly helpful. My sole reservation regarding this recent visit was an unexpected encounter where a stranger approached our table during our meal to offer flowers for sale. While it didn't detract significantly from the overall experience, it did introduce a slightly less refined element & prompted me to ponder how such an interaction was permitted within a high-end dining establishment. Should I return, I hope to find the atmosphere fully restored to a five-star standard.
The quality of food was amazing.
Me & my friend order'Yubari Blue', & it was great portion for two people. Cocktail was okay as well.
I think there is room for improvement in service-wise.
Quelle soirée ! Nous y sommes allés entre amis, & avons pris le Yubari Blue Premium qui est un assortiment de sashimi, nigiris & makis avec des produits de la mer d'exception (homard, anguille). Le service par Alexia était absolument parfait, aux petits soins. L'ambiance est chaleureuse & intimiste. L'addition est un peu cher mais ça vaut vraiment le coup !

Me & my friend spent a lovely dinner at Yubari. The quality of the food is extraordinary. Strongly recommend the Yubari blue...fresh fish getting delivered in 3 days from Japan...hard to beat. But the experience was even better thanks to Alexia, a lovely waitress that really took care of every little things. Thank you !!! See you real soon !!!
I came here with my boyfriend for the second time after having a disappointing experience, & it was amazing, the service was great, we got treated well with hospitality by the hostess, the waitress, the runners & the manager. The whole team was supper great, after hearing about our first experience. The manager made sure that our second time at yubari was a night to remember, & he most certainly was right! The food was supper good, I definitely recommend the sushi experience.The new drink menu is 100 times better than the old one. We tried 4 different signature cocktails & every single cocktail was simply amazing & paired well with what we ate.
We are super glad we went back, & thanks to the amazing service, we will most definitely be back very soon !

Nous sommes venu fin novembre & avons été déçu du service (ce qui était dommage sachant que nous avions bien mangé). Le restaurant a été super réactif, m'a contacté pour s'excuser & nous a proposé de revenir. Grace a cela nous avons pu ré-expérimenter le Yubari. Nous avons été extrêmement bien été accueilli par le maître d'hôtel & le reste de l'équipe. Vraiment ravie d'avoir pu me faire un deuxième avis sur le restaurant, on reviendra avec plaisir. Pour les personnes souhaitant une ambiance plus intimiste je vous conseille le début de la semaine.
Je recommande le trompe l'oeil noisette pour le dessert. Il fond en bouche & n'est pas trop sucré!

Très belle expérience chez Yubari. L'ambiance est soignée, le lieu est agréable & tout est bien organisé.
Mention spéciale pour le service de valet, vraiment efficace & professionnel. L'accueil est fluide dès l'arrivée, ce qui rend l'expérience encore plus agréable.

We stopped by for a cocktail before a friend's dinner party, didnt have a reservation but kudo to Lena, who recognized us & managed to squeeze us at the bar between 2 reservations, ....she's just awesome!!! (& creates the absolute best cocktails).
2 excellent cocktails & an entry of bao buns later, we were back on our way.
We are regulars at Yubari, we absolutely love hanging at the bar, Brian always stops by, makes you feel welcome & appreciated, cool DJ ambiance ....& when sitting at Lena's & Patrick's bar, you know its gonna be a great evening.

I had one of the most memorable nights in Montreal at Yubari, & I can confidently say it's the kind of place that turns a simple dinner into an experience.
From the moment I walked in, the energy was exactly right-warm, stylish, & buzzing without ever feeling overwhelming. The ambiance alone would earn five stars, but the people here take it even further.
Huge kudos to Tristan behind the bar, who is honestly a master of his craft. Not only were the cocktails beautifully balanced & creative, but Tristan had this effortless way of making you feel like a VIP guest. His recommendations were spot-on, & you can tell he genuinely loves what he does. A great bartender elevates a night, & Tristan did exactly that.
& then there's Diego, the DJ, who deserves his own standing ovation. The vibe he created was unreal-perfectly curated beats that made the entire space feel alive. It wasn't overwhelming; it was magnetic. You could feel everyone leaning into the energy he built throughout the evening.
Between the exceptional service, the electric atmosphere, & the incredible talent behind both the bar & the booth, Yubari is truly in a league of its own. Whether you're visiting Montreal or you're a local looking for your next go-to spot, don't miss this place. I'm already planning my next visit.
