Service is great, ambience is really nice.
Food is good. Pasta is the best choice, appetizers keep on basic.
The desserts are not good.
This is my go to place every time I m confused where to go , any friend coming over from outside Montreal or Canada , I take them here . The place is huge & I always get place without waiting . Being vegetarian , their pastas & pizzas are amazing & in dessert - tiramisu is must have . Their warm bread for starter is so fresh !
Beautiful restaurant!! The staff were so kind & helpful & the food was amazing!
Espace très vaste, parfait pour les très grand groupe.
Service excellent, notre groupe étant d'une cinquantaine, ça été exceptionnel. Très bon rapport qualité / prix.
After a leisurely afternoon exploring the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, my cousin & I were craving a good meal to cap off our day. Wienstein & Gavino's, located just a short walk from the museum, felt like the perfect spot to unwind & indulge in delicious food. The inviting atmosphere immediately drew us in, & from start to finish, it was a memorable dining experience.
Wienstein & Gavino's is a great spot for anyone looking for a refined yet cozy atmosphere with Italian-inspired dishes. The service, food, & ambiance make it a solid choice for a relaxed meal in Montreal, especially if you're near the Museum of Fine Arts. Whether you're in the mood for a comforting pasta or a light seafood appetizer, this restaurant delivers a memorable dining experience.

In depth review:
Ambiance:
The space is warm & stylish, with a cozy bistro feel & plenty of seating. While it's large, it never felt too noisy, & we were able to enjoy a peaceful meal upstairs. The atmosphere strikes a nice balance between lively & intimate.
Drinks:
My cousin had a Long Island Iced Tea ($11.30), which he liked for its well-balanced mix, while I went for an Italian Pinot Grigio ($11.25). Both drinks were refreshing & paired well with our food, setting the tone for a relaxing evening.
Food:
We started with the calamari ($23), which was light & crispy with two great dipping sauces. For my main, I had the Ravioli alla Gavino ($24)-the ricotta & spinach filling was creamy & delicious, though I'd have liked a bit more seasoning. My cousin's Fettuccini Carbonara ($25) was the highlight of the meal: perfectly cooked pasta in a rich, smoky sauce.
Service:
The service was friendly & attentive without being overbearing. Our server was knowledgeable, & the meal was paced perfectly, allowing us to enjoy every bite without feeling rushed.
Value for Money:
At just over $100 for both of us, the prices felt fair for the quality of the food & the experience. The portions were generous, & the overall meal was satisfying.
Excellent place for food & drink with friends & families. I always enjoyed the atmosphere of this place.
Très beau restaurant
Assez bruit mais très convivial
On y mange très bien
The food is good, but it's a big place so they sometimes mess up the order.
Très bruyant mais finalement convivial. On est loin de l'Italie pour les goûts de la nourriture, mais on sait sur quel continent nous sommes.
Good food, good atmosphere. Prices are comparable to other restaurants in Montreal. Went on a week day for lunch & it was semi quiet.
Great place! Good, professional, & friendly staff, & prices are fair.
I will always stop by. 😃
This was such a wonderful spot to go! It was so unique, & the food was fantastic!!
First, if you go to this popular place, ask to be seated in Ally's section. Her service was impeccable, jovial & warm through out my many demands.
The food was absolutely top notch. From the aldente pasta with mint, to the perfectly cooked steak with a hint of blue cheese. Even dessert had tarragon for an unsuspected twist.
Crowded street, anything on crescent street is pretty much what you expect it to be. Average food, average atmosphere. You don't have to think twice, if you want good pasta or meat, go there.
I had the sirloin, it was decent & priced fair.
Cocktails are classic. Wide selection of wine.
it was average experience. In a "$$" range type of restaurant I have tasted better food & been at places with better service & atmosphere. Although I must say it seemed very kids friendly, it was a week day & there was couple of families but it wasn't a mess/noisy. I was just expecting more because it's rated "$$" type of restaurant.
The restaurant is gorgeous, the wait staff are very attentive & the atmosphere is calming & refreshing. A definite must go for the atmosphere & the Italian food 😉
