The creation of young, up and coming Montreal restaurateurs, Wienstein & Gavino’s debuted in Montreal in 1996. W&G is a large Mediterranean restaurant spanning two floors and complimented by two terraces in the summer months. A large bar is the focal point of the first floor while the open kitchen complete with brick pizza oven is the main attraction upstairs. W&G is best known for its fresh, homemade pasta and traditional sauces and thin crust pizza. There is also a good selection of steaks, veal, and seafood. W&G serves lunch and dinner every day with a weekly table d’hôte available daily at $12-$16 for lunch and starting at $23 for dinner. In addition, a selection of pizza and pasta is available for 10$ from 11a.m. until 3p.m. for the lunch crowd and after 10pm every day for late night diners looking for a meal after the game, a concert downtown or before hitting the dance floor. W&G can also accommodate groups and can plan your party for you whether you’ve invited 10 people or 300 people! From Monday to Friday there is a “happy hour” at the W&G bar where guests can enjoy 2 for 1 from 4pm until 8pm. After cocktails at the bar, you can choose from one of the largest wine cellars in the city, stocked with reasonably priced wines, private imports, or premium fine wines. The focus is always fun at W&G with a DJ keeping things lively on the weekend and special events year-round. There is always something interesting going on at W&G!

Well well well use to love this restaurant, but now I will stay away honestly. I used to come to eat the gamberi macchiato & the chicken&fries (forgot the name of the dishe). The taste & the portion was always great, but since last winter the portion & the service got way to disgraceful for the price we pay for. When it happened the first time I let it slide but it did happened a second time, now I found that meh I don't know not wanna go I guess? I don't wanna pay 25$+ that doesn't even fill me.. I use to take my plate as takeout, now there's not enough food on the plate lol We did ask the waitress that we were getting small portion of fries & pasta, & if it was normal. She had to make feel like shit by saying for this is a good portion for the price we are paying ( my boyfriend dish was on their special menu of the day). Which made us cringe because it felt like we were asking too much for a 20$ dish. Please keep in mind that the gamberi macchiato cost 28$, but she had to comment on the price of the 20$ dish. Honestly, I felt horrible & it happened 2 months ago but I didn't want to sound like a bad person leaving a bad review but honestly guys don't go to there if you want a nice atmosphere where you are not judge for just asking if it's normal that portion size changed. Sorry didn't take much picture of before as I was not in my review era.

I visited Wienstein & Gavino's for my birthday & had a very enjoyable experience. The menu offers a wide range of choices including entrees, salads, mains, pasta, & pizzas, so there's something for everyone.
One of the nice touches was the unlimited bread served with olive oil, it was fresh & a great way to start the meal. I also appreciated the customizable pasta options, where you can choose from different types of pasta & sauces. It's great that they also offer gluten-free alternatives.
The atmosphere was lively but comfortable, & the service was friendly & efficient. Overall, a solid choice for Italian food in the city & a place I'd be happy to return to.
W&G was very accommodating to our large group, even when 15 extra people showed up! They took the surprise with stride & did their best to make sure everyone had a seat. In addition, the food was delicious & quick. There was even an accordion player that serenaded one of the guests lol
We had a long trip from Ontario to Quebec & Montreal. We were looking for a good Italian cuisine option. We came across this place & we decided to try it. & it was one for the best place we visited on this trip. The food was amazing, delicious & good portion size. The atmosphere & ambience is so good & esthetic. The vibe is amazing inside. I would also like to mention Luiz, he was our host. He was warm & really amazing & know his job to the best. He made our dinner special & he is a wonderful person & an amazing host. He made us laugh & it was fun. It was a lovely evening with lots of laughs & good memories. I would totally recommend this place.
Un énorme coup de coeur pour Wienstein & Gavino's! Dès notre arrivée, on a été accueillies avec le sourire par Fin, notre serveur, qui a été tout simplement exceptionnel du début à la fin. Gentil, attentionné, drôle & vraiment à l'écoute il a rendu notre soirée encore plus mémorable.
L'ambiance du resto est chic mais décontractée, avec une belle énergie. On s'est régalées! Les pâtes étaient fraîches, parfaitement assaisonnées, & les portions très généreuses. Mention spéciale au pain chaud avec l'huile d'olive; simple, mais addictif!
Franchement, c'est le genre d'endroit où tu veux revenir encore & encore. Merci à toute l'équipe, & surtout à Fin, qui a ajouté cette petite touche magique à notre expérience. Je recommande à 1000%!
Hi , We are writing a review because of the incredible service & food we had at the restaurant in early April 2025 . Our waiter Bill was personable, efficient & knowledgeable . The food was great as alway's & it's our favorite place in Montreal !

They give free unlimited bread with free unlimited olive oil/vinegar dip before you even order. A sizeable pizza & a generous plate of pasta came to 50$.
Pasta was delicious, enough for 2 people honestly. Pizza was also very good but a little heavy. Pasta is definitely their specialty.
Ordered Rose pasta & they put grated cheese on top for you. Delicious.
Place was a little loud with music as they have a bar downstairs, but the lighting is very romantic & the servers are extremely attentionate & well-dressed.
Overall definitely recommended, pretty cheap for a restaurant of this caliber.
One of the best Italian restaurants in Montreal, I loved the way our waitress welcomed & served us, they are open till late night even during the week & it is great that you can chill with your friends. Also the prices are amazing as compared to the food quality & quantity.
The ambience is perfect ♥?🤍
