About us
UMAMI RAMEN & IZAKAYA is the very first fully vegan ramen restaurant in Montreal.
Thanks to the import of a Japanese machine for making noodles, the establishment makes its own homemade noodles from organic wheat, in addition to making its broths, Tsukemono, kombucha and sprouts! The restaurant offers several varieties of ramen and small classics of Japanese Bistronomy in a vegan version. Whether we think of okonomiyaki, gyozas, Agedashi tofu or even tempeh Tonkatsu, Cédric and his team are happy to present to you every day, from starter to dessert, these revisited Japanese classics... just a few exclusives straight out of our kitchens. And who says Izayaka, of course, says refreshing beers, sumptuous wines, intoxicating cocktails, delicate sakes and other fine wine products. At Umami Ramen, we experience cruelty-free gastronomy at its best!

The food was absolutely delicious, the cocktails were original & yummy, the service was superb (both efficient & very friendly) & the covered terrace was so charming! All around 5 stars!

La nourriture était excellente, seul bémol était notre réservation pour 2 sur la terrasse où nous étions très collés aux autres groupes de 2 avec très peu d'espace entre les tables, difficile de circuler & de se concentrer dans notre conversation. En plus, notre voisin toussait pas mal...

Fantastic meal. The okonomiyaki was absolutely delicious, & the housemade pickles were really bright & acidic. Both ramens that we had (tantanmen & curry tempeh) were excellent. Probably the most interesting part of the meal was the amazingly tasty cocktail of armagnac, madeira, & miso (get this cocktail). The space is beautiful, & the service was really casual & friendly. We're not vegan (both vegetarian), but it didn't ever feel like the restaurant was trying to show us that vegan food can be delicious—it simply IS delicious. Next time we're in Montreal, we'll be back!

Ce n'était pas notre première visite & ce ne sera pas la dernière non plus! Nous avons passé une très belle soirée & les plats étaient délicieux comme toujours. Seule déception est qu'il ne restait plus de notre ramen préféré la kimchi épicée, mais nous avons trouvé notre compte. Merci!

Beau resto sobre & bien décoré. Le service est bien & les gens sont gentils & attentionné. La restaurant est cependant bruyant & il faut vraiment etre proche l'un de l'autre pour s'entend. Les plats sont bien présenté & attire l'oeil cependant les saveurs sont plus ordinaire & plusieurs plats auraient eu besoin de punchs. Les prix sont adéquats.

In terms of service, it was extremely quick & the decor was lovely. Unfortunately, the food was extremely bland with no distinctive complementing flavors - if you are looking for a vegan ramen place with little to no spice which has its audience - this is definitely the place.
