UMAMI RAMEN & IZAKAYA is the very first fully vegan ramen restaurant in Montreal.

Thanks to the import of a Japanese machine for making noodles, the establishment makes its own homemade noodles from organic wheat, in addition to making its broths, Tsukemono, kombucha and sprouts! The restaurant offers several varieties of ramen and small classics of Japanese Bistronomy in a vegan version. Whether we think of okonomiyaki, gyozas, Agedashi tofu or even tempeh Tonkatsu, Cédric and his team are happy to present to you every day, from starter to dessert, these revisited Japanese classics... just a few exclusives straight out of our kitchens. And who says Izayaka, of course, says refreshing beers, sumptuous wines, intoxicating cocktails, delicate sakes and other fine wine products. At Umami Ramen, we experience cruelty-free gastronomy at its best!

C'était bon cependant je n'étais pas au courant que c'était un restaurant vegan jusqu'à ce que je lise le menu assise dans le restaurant. Je suis quand même restée pour l'ambiance & j'avais faim.

C'est sur que si je cherchais un peu plus j'aurais remarqué mais ça serait bien si c'était indiqué que c'est vegan dans la description sur google maps.

no asian person i know has liked the food here. flavours somehow make no sense together? the veggies are overly acidic & not crisp, the sauces are too saturated with starch, & the vegan egg yolk tastes funky. the okonomiyaki starter & cocktails were good though. would not revisit.

My first time having brunch at Umami & I had an amazing experience! The berry crumble pancakes were delightful, their seasonal option. The potatoes were appetizing, the fruit was fresh & the matcha was enjoyable. However, the highlight of my time there was the incredibly attentive & amiable service I received, a dedicated thank you to Sandrine who was warm & helpful

What a unique offering. Not too many places you can get a plant based & delicious Japanese Izakaya menu. Delicious & I felt good afterwards. I had the tsukemen.
