UMAMI RAMEN & IZAKAYA is the very first fully vegan ramen restaurant in Montreal.
Thanks to the import of a Japanese machine for making noodles, the establishment makes its own homemade noodles from organic wheat, in addition to making its broths, Tsukemono, kombucha and sprouts! The restaurant offers several varieties of ramen and small classics of Japanese Bistronomy in a vegan version. Whether we think of okonomiyaki, gyozas, Agedashi tofu or even tempeh Tonkatsu, Cédric and his team are happy to present to you every day, from starter to dessert, these revisited Japanese classics... just a few exclusives straight out of our kitchens. And who says Izayaka, of course, says refreshing beers, sumptuous wines, intoxicating cocktails, delicate sakes and other fine wine products. At Umami Ramen, we experience cruelty-free gastronomy at its best!

Service excellent, servers very attentive, bilingual. Knowledgeable about food & beverages. Well attired to environment. Pleasant not pushy nor overbearing. Great food presentation & fair menu prices. Recommend highly
Nice service, nice vibes. We had the tasting menu which was a bit dissapointing. Two dishes out of 6 or 7 were really yummy. We both had a stomach ache afterwards. My boyfriend had nausea & food poisening-like symptoms. It was too expensive for what it was too. I'd like to try it again cause I am vegan & I love japanese, but I will have one single dish that I choose from the menu.
food was incredible. Perfect sized portions for sharing. Cocktails are on the stronger side. Only downside is, it's a little cramped inside & the tables are small. But overall very pleased with the experience !
Mon nouveau restaurant favori!
Aucun regret.
Something is lost in the Umami magic... Edamame was too cold, some of the Ramen dishes lost their punch. Still a beautiful restaurant, but something was missing.
Small place but excellent. We are meat eaters but went because one of us has fish & seafood allergies. Took a while to receive main courses but a good portion to fill satisfy your appetite. Quite tasty & flavorful. Loved it, with a nice cocktail followed by a bottle of umeshu.
The appetizers & cocktails were good but the ramen was extremely salty.
