About us
UMAMI RAMEN & IZAKAYA is the very first fully vegan ramen restaurant in Montreal.
Thanks to the import of a Japanese machine for making noodles, the establishment makes its own homemade noodles from organic wheat, in addition to making its broths, Tsukemono, kombucha and sprouts! The restaurant offers several varieties of ramen and small classics of Japanese Bistronomy in a vegan version. Whether we think of okonomiyaki, gyozas, Agedashi tofu or even tempeh Tonkatsu, Cédric and his team are happy to present to you every day, from starter to dessert, these revisited Japanese classics... just a few exclusives straight out of our kitchens. And who says Izayaka, of course, says refreshing beers, sumptuous wines, intoxicating cocktails, delicate sakes and other fine wine products. At Umami Ramen, we experience cruelty-free gastronomy at its best!

Les meilleurs ramens à Montréal, tous styles confondus! Leur menu est juste assez varié, les saveurs incroyables (la quantités d'aliments faits sur place est impressionnante). TOUT est délicieux, je recommande fortement!

J'y suis venu mardi soir pour mon anniversaire. C'était tout bonnement excellent, mais surtout, si j'avais pu mettre 6 étoiles au service, je l'aurais fait sans aucune hésitation! Le serveur & la serveuse m'ont vraiment choyé & ont été une grande partie de la belle expérience que j'y ai passé, donc je les remercie encore ici. Sinon, j'y ai mangé probablement le meilleur beigne de ma vie, je ne savais pas que ça pouvait être aussi bon. J'y retournerai prochainement, c'est certain!

A trendy & charming vegan restaurant with a cozy atmosphere. I really wanted to like this place. The entrees were delicious but I wish I could say the same for the ramen. It looked so appetizing but it was very salty & lacked depth. Unfortunately the service left something to be desired as well. It took long to give our order & to receive it. Our waitress would disappear, I suppose because it was busy, but then passes by without making eye contact. It took so long to catch her for another cocktail I ended up just skipping it. The overall experience fell short of expectations.

Absolutely incredible vegan ramen spot. The restaurant is intimate & cozy & everything tastes absolutely delicious. The staff is very professional & attentive. You must absolutely try their "Steak & egg" appetizer as well as the Karaage. The ramens are also super flavourful, & the "egg" made from emulsified tomato is genius! Definitely will be back.

C'était vraiment sublime , les plats étaient excellents , le vin super bon & notre serveur super gentil & attentionné. Je ne baisserais pas la note à cause de ça car cela m'appartient malheureusement mais pour l'ambiance je dirais que tout était trop bruyant à mon goût ... il y avait une table de 10 personnes donc cela n'a pas aidé sachant que la surface n'est pas immense non plus mais c'est le seul point qui m'a affecté car en voyant le restaurant de l'extérieur & la déco (qui est trop belle) je pensais que ce serait plus cozy & silencieux mais sinon, parfait !

I ordered the Shoyu ramen Tokyo Style because I was curious about the tomato yolk. But it's too mild to taste any tomato flavour. The yuba is shaped like thick slices of chashu. So this ramen ressemble like a'meaty' ramen. The gluten-free noodles are made of shirataki. For dessert, I had the vanilla soft serve (made with soy milk) with miso caramel. Eaten by itself, the caramel is deliciously salty. I'm very satisfied came for I came for their dessert made with miso.

Ma copine & moi avons beaucoup aimé notre expérience Umami. Le seul bémol est que le resto est très bruyant, mais comme nous avions la plus jolie table près des fenêtres & distante des autres, cela ne nous a pas trop incommodées.

Superbe restaurant, avec exquise nourriture végétalienne. Le service était dynamique & authentique, ce fut une belle soirée. Les plats un brin trop salés, mais sinon j'ai tout aimé !

Nous y sommes allés à trois & il était assez tard, on nous a quand même accepté & accueilli avec politesse & sympathie. Tout était très bon & le personnel très gentil. Je recommande.

We reserved & only bar was available. Once there, restaurant was 90% empty & they didn't want to give us a table because of their potential walk ins. After we left, there was still tables available. Food is amazing though.

Agréablement surprise!! Nous ne sommes pas végétarien en soit, mais les entrées & les ramen nous on beaucoup étonner. De très bonnes saveurs en bouche & la serveuse qui nous très bien conseillée. Les cocktails étaient tous aussi délicieux!! Je reviendrais sans hésiter!! Merci
